I will hold off comments not associated with jessica lynch, you all know where I stand on the topic of war and politics. Jessica is no hero, D-force and the Iraqi that helped are the true heros. I am not suggesting she should not be welcomed home with open arms, but the media hype really did our true heros no justice. ANYONE WITH AN OUNCE OF INTELLEGENCE SHOULD UNDERSTAND OUR REASONS FOR INVOLVEMENT IN THIS WAR OR ANY OTHER IN THAT REGION. COMPASSION DOES NOT FIGHT INHUMANITY, IT NEVER HAS OR EVER WILL. EVERY GREAT PEACEFULL NATION THAT HAS THRIVED IN THIS WORLD HAS DONE SO BY THE PRESSENCE OF A STRONG FIGHTING FORCE. CHILDREN REALLY NEED TO LEARN MORE WHEN IT COMES TO HISOTRY AND THE INFLUENCE OF COMUNISIM OR OTHER TYRANICAL RULE. YOU KIDS REALLY HUMOR ME....

Splitsoul - One would think training for war and actual war are two different things.

I know this guy who was highly trained in kick boxing. This other woman who had similar high level 'tranining'.

We got into a bit of a fight. The guy froze up and shit himself. Other people who had no where near the training he had didn't. And they weren't necessarily 'experienced' in fighting either.

Training can only do so much, usually.

Bounce - So the tyranny of anti-communism and what not is right. As you need to deal with the 'greater evil with a 'lesser' yet to an extent still parallel evil? I guess that's what the modern world has 'evolved' into...or expanded even...

I'm still surprised at the public's reaction on America's "great failure" in Iraq. We (collectively) act as if our country had ever been in a predicament similar to the one we faced with Iraq. One goal: the deliberate death of an elite group of leaders. It's not quite as easy as you foolios think.

I'd be interested, Bounce (& Varentao, for that matter) in who you would support to oust Bush - amongst Democratic frontrunners. . I'm with the Edwards camp.

My opinion on this is that the Bush administration used Lynch to direct the public opinion away from the reality of the war in Iraq. We were told Saddam had chemical and possibly nuclear weapons and we needed to disarm him now. The war has been over for 6 months now and WMDs still has not been found. So to make the American people feel better for deaths of over 300 soldiers who have died with more dying daily, we have Lynch, the sweet, young, white American girl that a large majority of American people will identify with and feel sorry for, being beaten up and brutalized by the evil Iraqi soldiers of Saddam's army. Why don't we see more coverage about Miller, Johnson, and the other POWs that were captured? Because Lynch's would have more an effect on the people.

Inside the hospital, she was raped multiple times. She only had one arm broken, but her left leg and right ankle were broken. My brother was a part of one of two 2-man sniper teams on the roof of some local buildings by the hospital. Apparently the Television even got the rescue operation all fucked up. They were there on their sniper posts for support. The Army Rangers secured a perimeter of the building and Delta Force ran in to rescue here. He said they were in and out of the building in less then 7 minutes. It pissed him off extremely because she was built up to be some hero when she isn't. It also pissed him off, because he said, "Had that been a man inside that fuckin hospital, these fuckin Robewiggers wouldn't have sent in a fuckin pissant to go save him."

Apparently Robewiggers = Government politicians. I'm assuming from the days of old where they wore those big ass white hair wigs, but where the robe part came from...not sure.

Anyone notice the u.s.a hates terrorists, but these people in the Middle East (whom are referred to as terrorists)like the Al Qaeda, are trying to be free of Western Influence, much in the same way as America was trying to get rid of Great Britain? If we never got involved with them in the first place, we wouldn't be in this predicament, but america loves to gain more power.
