LOL I find it funny how you think you can rub shit in. It means nothing coming from you. How many teams can say in 9 yrs they'd have this resume:

4 BCS national championship game appearances (1-3)
7 conference championship appearances (6-1)
7 BCS bowl appearances
8 11+ win seasons
2 heisman trophy winners, 2 runner-ups
5 game win streak v.s. major rival
102-19 W-L record (84%)
60-2 Home W-L record (97%)

Ask any fan man. They'd GLADLY take that every 9 yrs. Some teams don't even get one chance for the title. I'd gladly take 4 every 9 years.

There's a reason Oklahoma has won the most games in the modern era. There's a reason Oklahoma has been ranked #1 in the AP polls for more weeks than any other team in the nation. There is a reason Oklahoma has won 7 national championships (compared to 2 from Texas).

Hate all you want. But it's only because you wish your team (whoever's bandwagon you jump on) can perform as well as Oklahoma.

There's only one Oklahoma.

"They don't know what it means to be a champion... Oklahoma invented it."

-Bud Wilkinson, Oklahoma Sooners former heard coach(47 game winning streak, longest in nation)

hahaha we've already witnessed your lack of intelligence in general in thread dawg. But when it comes to sports.... please, man. Stick to selling coke. You constantly prove you know nothing.

Ask ANY coach in the nation, we'll give you 4 slots in the BCS championship this decade, but you'll only win 1.

117/117 would gladly take it.

and hey, to suck dick in bowl games you'd have to be good enough to make those BCS bowl games now wouldn't you? ;)

The best part about being an Oklahoma fan is that I KNOW they'll be a well coached team that EVERY year will be in the title hunt. As a fan, I couldn't ask for more.

How many other fans can say that about their team?

BOOMER SOONER

Cola 01-10-09 07:52 PM

i guess if being the runner up every year is your thing, than, hey....s'all good bro. s'all good.

or to be politically correct....you guys are usally the runner up's runner up's runner up.

yay sooners!

J. Luth 01-10-09 08:13 PM

say what you want. When your team has a history like OU's, and is competing for a national championship year in and year out. THEN come talk to me homie.

Till then, here ya go:

Cola 01-10-09 08:17 PM

alright, only dude i'd fuck ..straight up, is Adrian Peterson

TeamOne 01-11-09 12:26 PM

Oklahoma's resume looks Very similar to the most overrated football team of the past decade.... Ohio State...

from the looks of Oklahoma's stats it seems like they've just been overhyped most years, i wouldnt boast the fact that you've Lost almost every BCS game you've been in... it just makes it seem like your team gets unfairly ranked high... not to mention you guys have lost to Texas, what, 3 of the past 4 times?

TeamOne 01-11-09 12:27 PM

and the funny thing is, Coke, Oklahoma Isnt runner-up because whoever loses the BCS championship game usually drops to like 4th or 5th....

rofl Ohio St. plays in the big 10. Oklahoma plays in the big 12. There are more quality teams in the Big 12 then in the Big 10. This year, Texas, Nebraska (killed the nations 12th ranked D clemson. and been finally putting shit together), Oklahoma St., Texas Tech, and Oklahoma. Where as Big 10 only had Ohio St and Penn St. and NO conference championship.

and overhyped? LOL show me another team that will win 11 games year in and year out. I don't care if you play in the MAC. Winning 11+ games 8 years out of 9 is an amazing feat. From having to replace past players with new. Bob Stoops best yr in recent times would be the 2006 season.

Ranked 3rd going into the season, QB Rhett Bomar is supposed to be a stud. Takes money, gets kicked off the team. No QB. So OU moves a converted WR, 4th string QB, into their starting QB. Adrian Peterson gets injured the 3rd or 4th game. Somehow, Oklahoma manages to finish 11-2 (counting that BS oregon game). Ou shouldn't have won more than 5 or 6 games with that. But Bob Stoops pulled off a hell of a coaching job.

And it just means they were overhyped to be ranked that high? Sorry buddy, but last time I checked to even be placed in the title game due to being "unfairly ranked" you still have to be one of the nations top teams that year. ;) In the title game or not, OU was a top 3 team this year.

And wait, did you just say lost to Texas 3 of last 4? it's funny how you don't mention the 5 years before that. All OU wins. The discussion was 9 years in this century. 6-3. I can dig that. ;)

But please, you can hate. But you know, next year the year after that, the year after that, etc. EVERY year, with Bob Stoops recruiting, Oklahoma will be in the title chase. And a tradition like Oklahoma will NOT lose every game. I guarantee you that.

Oh, and what's this talk about OU being unfairly ranked? Did you not watch the game? Did you not notice that Oklahoma was tied with 12 mins to go in the 4th quarter? Did you not see that OU was not out of the game until 3 mins left and Tebow threw that TD pass? Lol and Bradford? Was 29-41 280 yds and 2 Tds and 2 ints. (both were in the hands of the OU Receiver who tipped it. maybe the first one was bad decision, second was great play by safety). and the running game. Chris Brown stepped up with 130 yds. The defense, they stepped up. Gave the offense a chance to win deep into 4th. Special teams was EXCELLENT. only thing was the play calling on those two goal line drives that were a LITTLE questionable, and that 49 yd fg for a kicker who's longest is a 42, and has trouble missing XP.

But other than that, I'd like you to tell me why they didn't deserve to play in that game. Florida got all they could handle from Oklahoma.

You can trash OU for the two previous title games. But this one? Hell no. Played a hell of a game.

i remember when i first startd to watch college football was in 95 and then michigan had a perfect season in 97. pretty good start to me watching em.

J. Luth 01-11-09 02:26 PM

^LOL random son.

ain't that the yr Woodson won heisman? Dude was a beast..

What you think about Rich Rodriguez? I hate the dude, and he's just fucking up Michigan. Doing shit y'all never done in y'alls history in just his first yr. lol

J Summers 01-11-09 02:39 PM

thanks for rubbing it in spully...
and we also got them lions with a perfect season...

GO RED WINGS...

J. Luth 01-11-09 03:02 PM

^LOL I thought you were LK for a sec. I was like wtf?

but word son damn @ Lions tho. lol But yea, Michigan I think made a mistake getting rid of Lloyd Carr. Every coach has some slumps, but he was a good coach. Rich Rodriguez is a bastard who'll turn his back on you the minute he sees more cash.

TeamOne 01-11-09 07:12 PM

spul getting all butt hurt... you take any other team that makes it to a bcs games every year and Lose almost every year then you Have to be considered overhyped/overrated... why do you think schools like ohio state and notre dame get ragged on year after year recently? cause even tho they might finish with a good record, their history in the big bowl games are so bad it overrides everything... and who's to say which conference is the strongest during the year... many of these teams dont play a good team in another big conference the whole year, so many of these stats of "conference vs. conference" have one of the mediocre/bad teams from a big conference vs. one of the best teams from the conference, or mediocre vs mediocre

and i guess bowl games could be a good indication but in reality texas and missouri both beat their big 10 team opponents on the last drive/play, which really means Either team couldve won

oh, and did OU score their lowest amount of points this season in the championship game?

J. Luth 01-11-09 07:45 PM

LOL butthurt? How? Because I’m defending my team against unintelligent fans like you? haha riight.....

As for making it every year and lose almost every year. How does that make you overhyped or overrated? LOL you won the games to get there, aka YOU DESERVE IT. last I checked buddy, EVERY conference champion of the 6 major conferences gets an automatic bid. So if Oklahoma dominates the big 12 year after year they DO deserve it. Win or lose, they’re a conference champion. Learn your facts.

Oh, and remember the coach of those ’94, ’95, and ’97 Nebraska national champs? Tom Osborne? Those teams are considered some of the best teams EVER. But why don’t you take a look back at his bowl record at Nebraska from ‘87-’93. Yup, 0-7. Few of them were national championship games.

Every coach and team goes through a rough stretch. Doesn’t mean they are overrated. They won the games that got them a place to be in there. If they lose in the bowls, it’s not being overrated. Maybe they don’t know how to finish. But undeserving of that spot? Nope..

So basically, what are you trying to prove? That Oklahoma was “overrated” this year? That they didn’t belong in the national championship? If I recall, 1 yard and a bad bounce prevented Oklahoma from going into halftime with a 21-7 or 17-7 lead. Also, if I recall the score was 14-14 in the 4th quarter. The game wasn’t “over” until 3 minutes to go when Tim Tebow converted a 3rd down into a touchdown.

Florida won, but if Oklahoma were “overrated”, they wouldn’t have had to fight how they did to win it. Unless you consider them undeserving as well. =/

So word, dawg. Blame me for being proud of my teams tradition. Am I supposed to believe my team blows because of a few recent short comings? No. Maybe that’s your style, but I’m not a fair weather fan. Whether it’s a loss by one touchdown, or if it’s by 10, I’ll stay an Oklahoma fan till the end.

I see this season as a success. 12-2. Big 12 champions. Heisman trophy winner. Great year. Not many teams have a year like Oklahoma’s. Try telling them these credentials make you “overrated” and watch them slap you across the face.

So when you actually provide some valid points, then come talk to me. Till then, just keep trying to bring down one of the storied traditions in college football. Good luck. It’ll be a losing battle. Does it really bother you that every year Oklahoma will be there competing for the national championship? That by the time you pass away they will surely have another 3-5 national championships wrapped up?

It’s great to be a Sooner fan.

Oh and btw, Florida also scored their lowest points of the seasons. It’s what happens when two EQUALLY great teams collide. LOL idiot

TeamOne 01-11-09 08:38 PM

yea, then again oklahoma averaged 54 points per game and dropped 40 points below that in the national championship game.... while florida averaged 44 and had a 20 point dip, oh yea, and they won...

and, yes, Spul, they are guaranteed a BCS bid, but they are Not guaranteed the National Championship.... and lets not forget that it was the BCS that chose who played In the Championship game for the Big 12... so it ALL of that is based on how people Rate them (or as ive been saying Overrate them)... there were other big conference teams that only had one loss who had just as much of a right to play in the big game as Oklahoma... my vote wouldve went to USC, because just like Florida, they had an explosive offense And a Great defense.... so yes, other people deserved to be there... if Pac-10 had a championship game and they got to like replay oregon state and destroy them, then it probably wouldve been no question USC

keep in mind that i am Notre Dame fan and that i Hate USC, and i have no really feelings either way about oklahoma... so trust me it strains me to say this

JTR 01-11-09 08:40 PM

ahahaha, you said "defense" and "offense"

Ok, let me state this to you again. When two EQUALLY talented teams play, point averages go out the window. It’s a whole different strategy playing a championship game then when you’re playing some regular season game.

And Florida won man?!? Really? I didn’t know that. =/ Really quit trying to rub it in my face. If that’s your only point of argument, you obviously don’t have one. I’m proud of the way Oklahoma played, and am looking forward to next year.

Oh, great. Again with the three way tie thing. I won’t go into that again. But I wasn’t talking about this year only. I’m talking about the 6 times in the last 9 years they’ve won the Big 12. BCS didn’t help the other 5 times, did they? OU deserved to be in all those bowls they were in. This year, you can’t say anyone deserved it more, EXCEPT in hind sight. OU played a better strength of schedule, and provided more quality wins than USC. Those have to be taken into consideration. Plus, OU’s one loss is better than USC’s. The #3 team in the nation compared to an unranked team? hmm...

villagepimp 01-11-09 09:49 PM

First, Fuck Oklahoma.

Second, Fuck Oklahoma.

Now that we've gotten that out our way... OU played one fuck of a game and had one fuck of a season. I'd take it in a heartbeat for Mizzou, we'd kill for a year like that.

If anyone wants to underrate the Big XII then fuck them. We all hate each other, but dammit, we're one of the TWO best conferences in the Nation. And USC is a bunch of circle jerking douchebags that can stockade all the talent in Cali because ain't no one else in the Pac-10 doing anything.

There we go. M-I-Z... Z-O-U!!!! AND ROCK CHOKE GAYHAWK!

J. Luth 01-11-09 10:24 PM

^rofl word...

it's funny tho. Everyone in the SEC. they cheer for each other. In the big 12. It's like FUCK YOU BITCH!!! fuck conference loyalty.

Like Georgia fans cheering for Florida. Alabama fans cheering for florida. LOL Texas fans all rooting for Florida. Same for Oklahoma St. Everyone..

like fuck conference loyalty. Everyone in big 12 will acknowledge they have competition. But cheer for the other's to succeed? Hell fucking no! Why help them with recruiting? Far as I'm concerned, the big 12 is Oklahoma, Oklahoma, Oklahoma, Oklahoma, Oklahoma, Oklahoma, Oklahoma, Oklahoma, Oklahoma, Oklahoma, Oklahoma, and Texas. And from the past few conference champions, my guess could very well be right. BOOMER!!

and ike, LOL word. He probably only one in here who has a team more storied then OU in the modern era. What y'all got like 8 titles? One behind.

What I don't get is, why do people only care about the records "in the modern era"? lol what's so bad about the game before World War II? Was there like some rule changes or something? lol

every announcer counts shit "in the modern era" outside world War II. so iunno....
