Vince Carter for MVp

^ Payce, im sorry to say this. Cause you my hommie, and we in the same crew. But I can tell you dont have any real knowledge of basketball. Vince will not be MVP, they go by stats mainly. His stats are not nearly as good as Duncans. Duncan is such a deal, that if he got injured. It would effect the team extremly bad. If vince gets injured again, it will just happen like last time. They will play the same, just add a filler in there. He is a good player, but way over rated. He will never amount to what tim duncan has brought to the game. All he brought was dunk's, thats it. You wouldnt even know who he was if he didnt win that dunk contest... And that is a fact... I know that for sure...
No hate hommie, but start uppin your knowledge, and realize the facts rather than the fiction... Tim Duncan has more of a chance to get it...

Coast 12-31-03 10:08 PM

some parts are true, but not necesarrily, if duncan got hurt, only san antonio would pay for it, because no1 goes 2 see tim duncan play, people go see Vince play because of his explosive energy on the court, its all about the fans...... and the money to the NBA if tim would get injured it wouldnt affect the nba in any negative ways..... but still, vincesanity isnt gettin mvp, garnett deseverd it for the last 2 yeras

LyRiCaLLyInSaNe1 12-31-03 11:47 PM

ALLEN IVERSON FAN RIGHT HERE BUT I AINT A HATA............id love to see a.i. get it but it aint happenin.......vince carter? NA....tim duncan? NA.....even kevin garnett wont get it (shoulda gotten it last year no doubt....but this year baron davis is pullin wut KG did last year........he upped his game 10 notches........BARON WILL GET IT fo sho.......1......

SyaNidal 01-01-04 01:29 AM

i have to say Id love to see Tracy McGrady get it this year since he should've last year in my opinion no hate on KG hes really good player but i think McGrady brought it last year...
see I know tracy wont get it cauz his team blows this year he has to carry them...
and 90% of the time hes double teamed n still hittin shots that he shouldnt be hitting 1 vs 1... magic i dont tihnk makin playoffs or maybe wildcard...!?
Baron Davis in my opinion has truely stepped up this year...
last year against the sixers i tihnk it wus first game AI skooled them but i tihnk Davis wus injured... well hes brought it to the court this year...
and My Nigga Allen Iverson.... hmm what can I say...
doin the same old shit throwin stupid shots up..... from like 45 feet away form the net... and like Cave Canem said his percent of makin them is very low but that's due to one thing he has to take all the shots him snow n mickie r the team... he is a good player can hit a 3 and skool u in the key... he should get it but his team needs to learn how to play team ball n shoot instead of relieing on him 75% of the time u notice how he got injured n then Mckie n Snow had it all on them then McKie got injured n snow had to do alot of work... Kinda like Tracy McGrady n the Magic they dont play as a team either...
I Think Tracy deserves it but wont get it....

and wheres my nikka Lebron James can't ferget him i would say he should get it cmon hes only 18.... he brought the caviliers ot the playoffs i think and hes startin in the allstar game this is his first year C'MON NOW!! so...

MVP
Lebron James
Allen Iverson
Baron Davis
Kevin Garnett
Tracy McGrady(I Wish)

High Class 01-01-04 03:00 AM

Kevin Garnett, tracey mcgrady... they do deserve some award. They are both incredable players. I like watching there games...

Coast - Im not talking about fans. Im talking about how the team would be effected by the loss. No one said anything about the fans.

Detrimental 01-01-04 04:04 AM

haha, vince carter ISNT a great player because he lacks fundamental execution

he's got no deadly offense weapon except for his exciting dunks that'll get u outcha chair.. and even those dont come as regularly anymore

he needs to develop a great midrange jumper like jordan did, or a crossover he can use on da regular.. he needs something to seperate him from being just a great dunker

u see Tim Duncan might be boring but he can win games. he got the post game more than anybody else right now, a hook, the spin move & dunk, like 15 foot jumpers.. hes hard to stop

T-Mac is my fav player but hes struggling this season. i can see the teams try to shut him down before he lights up, hes always being double teamed, and this shows in his offensive numbesr compared to last season... i jus hope he can break out and make a run at the playoffs, but his boys need to step it up. offensively hes the best player in the game, no doubt in my mind

but im sticking with pierce for MVP, the kid is crazy

Detrimental 01-01-04 04:07 AM

Coast:

look at the offensive numbers Pierce puts up.. look at his efficiency rating compared to the other guards in the league, and tell me he's not underrated.. to me he doesnt get the credit he deserves, this season he is no doubt the premier guard/small forward in the NBA...

Philosopher King 01-01-04 04:30 AM

Yeah, Pierce is underrated... but he's got the same problem some of these other guys have got. He's the only real scorer on his team, and therefore he thinks he has to jack up a bunch of low-percentage shots. Even worse (and this is the same thing Doc Rivers stuck McGrady with), they've got him playing point guard. Now, okay, the Celtics don't have a real point guard -- but Pierce's main weakness was always his passing. Now they traded Walker, and they're trying to make him the main assist man, and everything's suffering, not only because he doesn't have that skill but because he has to look for his own shots and other people's shots at the same time. So he's leading the NBA in turnovers.

But yeah, if you got Paul Pierce on a team with a real point guard who could get him high-percentage shots, man, he'd be crazy. He's got a natural outside shot, which is something not a lot of star SG/SFs in the league have these days -- Ray Allen and Stojakovic do, but those guys can't play D or go inside on you.

Still not sure he's better than McGrady, though -- really, both of them suffer from the same problem. When will these dumbass GMs learn -- it doesn't matter how well your shooting guard can pass, you need a real point guard.

D-Dizzle 01-01-04 11:59 AM

Right now I'm going with B.Davis or Antwione Walker (Don't sleep, best player on the Mavs right now) But holla back when the play-off race starts and the end of the season cuz thats who we see is really ballin'

Koalatee 01-01-04 12:02 PM

Right now, surely B. Diddy!

Coast 01-01-04 01:53 PM

ok put it this way, underrated or not, pierce aint gettin mvp, neither is carter, neither is baron davis or fuckin Antoine WALKER!!!! were u serious with that antoine remark? antione is not the key part to the mavs winning the championship, how are u going to say that antione is better than nash finley and dirk?

J-durable 01-01-04 02:30 PM

Ill tell ya ova and ova again "KG"

PaYce 01-01-04 04:48 PM

Duncan is only good for doin his job man. He ain't explosive...he can't get u outta ur seat and go dammm!!! He ain't that valuable to the league, anyways, the award is based on stats so that's why duncan will most likely win again. And the reason why Vince doesn't drive and do those dunks anymore is cuz he's scared to hurt his knee again. Those guys who ain't gettin much playin time in the NBA are ruthless...they'll do anythin to get more playin tyme...even if u have to injure and all-star to do it. If Carter doesn't take it...I think it should go to Iverson then...Because if he was to get injured or sumthin...I think the NBA would lose a lot of rating. Iverson is an original...people like that...who else shows up at the press conference wearin camoflague!!! like come on...

Philosopher King 01-01-04 05:26 PM

Yeah -- Duncan can't mug for the crowd -- all he can do is, you know, play basketball. Carter's a lame-ass ball hog with the defensive skills of an inanmate object.

As for the Mavs, hey, I love the Mavs, but not one of them is ever going to be the MVP. They have five star players on that team -- nobody's indispensable. Just like why none of the Lakers are going to win it.

Mental God 01-01-04 05:32 PM

Michael Jordan will for sure get it this year

PaYce 01-01-04 05:32 PM

^lmao...im from Toronto...dat's y i like Vince so much...he is a ball hog...but not so much anymore since once Toronto picked up Marshall...Marshall really stepped up his game. LoL, vince ain't even my favourite player...It's all about Steve Francis...when he wants to win he can pull anything off...don't believe me...then u didn't watch the Christmas Day game between the Lakers and Houston...Yao Ming got fouled out and becuz of Francis...Houston still pulled off the victory!!

40-inch vertical jump!!! he's a fukkin kangaroo.

Did I studder!?!, RIGHT NOW at the current moment since ya'll wanna talk about MVP shit and it ain;t even the middle of the season. Yes Walker is THE BEST PLAYER ON THE MAVERICKS, HIS COACH DON NELSON EVEN SAID IT HISELF. HE;s the only all around polished player on that team, Dirk can shoot but he;s soft, Nash can shoot but he;s reckless, Mike Finley good but he's an athlelete with a so-so jumper. Plus they not donna win the champonship NEVER anyhow, becasue they can't play defence....Not only is antwoine the best player but the most mentaly tough..Tha fuck you thought.... You watch to much NBA Inside Stuff

KG has had MVP type numbers at the begning of the year for the past 4 years, this ain;t nothing new....But like I and if you would read my post, lets see what happends when we get to the heat of the season........

Mental God 01-01-04 08:25 PM

lmao.

For the championship...who noes who will win dis year...too many suprises...like Denver.

If I could choose anybody who I think will win tho...it'll be Sacramento. As long as webber can stay healthy...they should have a good run this year.

Vince Carter for MVP.

Coast 01-02-04 12:34 AM

why is everyone sayin carters gettin MVP!!!!!!!! yes hes an exciting player, yes he is debatebly the best dunker in the league and is fun to watch, BUT his jumper is nowhere near perfect, he is an ok dribbler, other than that, rebounds assists arent anything special......... it would be nice for him 2 get mvp, but its simply not gonna happen....

KG......... all i gotta say

Lol coast...i kno he won't win...im from Toronto. Some of you are saying baron davis as Most improved.

I say Zach Randolph of the portland trail blazers is most improved dis season. Last year...he averaged a mere 8.4 ppg...the year before that...2.4...now this year...22.7!!! i think that deserves to be a most improved player. From 4.5 rpg to 11.5 this season. Like yes Baron is dominating the NBA but he isn't the most improved tho...I think Zach Randolph deserves it.

I wouldn't be suprised if Baron Davis didn't take home any awards this year. I think the most he will get is being elected to one of the All-NBA teams.

Dangerlyrics 01-02-04 01:27 AM

I believe both... Baron Davis could be on the bench because he has been playing good all season. Allen iverson on the other hand played good his hole career. Baron davis did too but not as well.

Mental God 01-02-04 02:12 AM

go sacramento

Detrimental 01-02-04 03:35 AM

Vinces verticle jump, at his prime (2000) was measured as 45"

Jordan's was 48"

Iverson's 44"

SPUD WEBB WAS 56"

actually...spud was 42 inch...not 56

High Class 01-02-04 03:45 AM

I just checked stats and FACTS... Kevin Garnett should be the Mvp this year. he played better than anyone else by far. So if anyone bitches, just shut the fuck up. Its true, go look at NBA stats and learn. So really, take all of those people off the list, cause kevin is most likely ganna get it, if people all the sudden started to go by game play. But he is pretty flashy at times as well...

( keep Baron up there, he had an alright season. But had a better season a couple years back and still didnt get MVP... )

PaYce 01-02-04 03:51 AM

lmao U ppl needa understand...I just praise Vince cuz im from Toronto lol. Kevin Garnett does deserve it...he's deserved it for years lol. It's just cuz he was doin it alone...he couldn't really put up the stats required to take the award...now he's got a team so he deserves it.

Cryptic Thoughts 01-02-04 03:51 AM

Should either be Baron Davis or KG at this point.
It all depends on how the season turns out for both teams however. If New Orleans ends up with a decent seed Baron will likely get the nudge over KG due to KG's supporting cast.

High Class 01-02-04 04:31 AM

^ Good Outlook on it hommie ^

You might be a fan of his. But compare his numbers to KG, baron davis, tim duncan, allen iverson, and TM... He doesnt compare. Im not trying to piss you off hommie, okay maybe I was befor. But not now. He doesnt have the stats for it, so its not ganna happen.
I think he is like steve francise in a way. They both play very well, play a smart game and everything. But had bad luck with there teams, until now... But its to late cause other teams have even better players and situations...
But the diffrence between him and fthe franchise. Is francise has a better shot...

PaYce 01-02-04 04:37 AM

hmmm...well tru. The thing is that Vince never really needed to have a shot before as he could drive to the basket. Now the problem is that der is fools who will do anything to win...even if it results in injuring Vince. I just like Vince a lot cuz he's from Toronto. Francis is ma favourite player (even if the punk did refuse to play on a Canadian team). He just can't handle the excitement shown by the Toronto crowd =)

Baron Davis is not taking home any single awards this season. He ain't gettin MVP and most improved is goin to Zach Randolph on portland, and Defence will most likely go to wallace.

ummm...ok dawg...this is a direct quote from Spud Webb's official site.
