You're still dumb as fuck, tell me that you would have heard almost any underground music if it weren't for filesharing

Gunman tha Great 01-27-04 03:34 PM

who is talking about the underground? They use it as a form of creating a buzz dumb fuck i'm talking about downloading an entire established artist's album. Go play somewhere small child.

Transmogrify 01-27-04 03:47 PM

Weren't We talking about the pros and cons of FileSharing? Or weren't we talking about how deserving artists should get paid?

Gunman tha Great 01-27-04 03:49 PM

we talking bout people downloading/bootlegging/burning an established artist's entire album and not buying the shit.

Any CD possible, yes. It's rare to find what I listen to around here. I'm currently looking into buying CD's online. So shut the fuck up idiot.

You're a fucking idiot. If I like it enough yes.
If I see an album by anyone of the people who I have downloaded the albums of I will still download it, even though I already have the music itself.

Transmogrify 01-27-04 04:00 PM

Shut the Fuck Up Already, Hes saying that he would buy more CDs than he does if they were available. The Lack of Availability Drive him to Dowmloading to fullfil his needs. Say they were available, he would download alot less

Gunman tha Great 01-27-04 04:01 PM

I'm done bickering wit you two dumbasses.

So Fo Real 01-27-04 06:01 PM

Bootleggin can be seen from two point of views

Its stealing from the artist if all you consider is the decrease in sales from bootlegging.

Its the exact opposite from stealing if bootleggin is another means of promoting, like the radio, or any other means of media.

You can't get the real thing without buying it, so, if bootlegs didnt exist, people would still be making tapes of songs. Big Deal.

heh...callin me lame in the other thread...
::ether plays...and u kno how that starts::
filesharing is making the music industry more kid friendly...

Xpress Lane 01-28-04 12:45 AM

^ Availability is largely why I continue to download music. Awhile back I went to go and buy the Copywrite: Highly Exhaulted Cd. HMV told me that it would be 2-3 months before they could get a copy. So then I went home and had the fucking thing downloaded in an hour or so.

DªÖ 01-28-04 05:46 AM

i live in hawaii so no one comes here to have a concert
i dont even get to see them on tour so howm i supposed
to support those who have no connection ...also i understand
why people hate u gun ur a raving idiot.

4885 01-28-04 05:49 AM

its so easy to download music and copy it these days its pointless in butin cd's when ya can get them for free.

Van Ished 01-28-04 08:45 AM

I've purchased my last 100 alubms, I could of easily downloaded them but, unless it's somethin that's on a mixtape that I can't find, I figure I will come across the cd eventually. I guess it's outta respect for the artists and the fact that I'd rather be able to look at all the producion work and sampling done than see SONY or MAXWELL with the album name written in marker on my cds.

I guess nobody will really grasp the concept of stealin until it affects somethin in a major way that forces a halt in production. Could you imagine if people downloaded video games like they were mp3s and then companies stopped makin games as a comeback? Whoa....... I scare myself.......

4885 01-28-04 09:00 AM

Fuck Cd Theres No Point Just Download It For Free, Why Would You Even Think Of Buyin The Cd Unless You Want The Cover Or Somthin

Mr W.Rite 01-28-04 04:54 PM

i can see where gunman is coming from
i mean put yourself in the shoes of the artist..
wouldn't u rather get 3 or 4 cent per cd sold than nothing at all
i mean its your career...most dont give a fuck about others but
it is their life..and it does rest in our hands as consumers...

at the same time if i can download a particular song that i like instead of buying
the rest of the cd whicn may be garbage...then u win...u save money and get the
song u liked..kinda selfish..but we want easy access to everything
and the internet was designed to do so...why not take advantage...

this can go either way...another never ending saga...

docta_k 01-28-04 05:02 PM

yeh income aint from records sales so much any more, now its clothing lines, commericials, shows, wtever else. bootlegging will prob always be there, its too hard to stop entirely. i believe its a form of publicity. thats what tech n9ne feels as well, he says many pps buy an album for one or two good tracks, whereas now they can just bootleg it. if the artist is confident they have put out a solid album, not with just one dope track then they shouldnt feel insecure bout bootlegging. worked for me, i started off dloading some of tech n9ne's stuff, ended up loving it and bought absolute power. also with dloading music its available, here not many good albums are easily available to buy

KaaS 01-30-04 02:21 PM

i only download a few tracks to sample a perticular artists music and then ill go out and buy their album if im impressed with their shit

Sublime D 01-30-04 04:40 PM

you wanna talk abotu somethin...talk abotu hwo much money music artists do make..maybe they shoudln't even be so rich...someone xcan rap so he makes 20 million dollars...that's why i like 50..he realizies the ludicrosity of the industry..he's just makin money..pimpin the game and you cant really hate anybody for that but still..its idiocy..Just another perpetuation of the doctrine of social darwinism

DNUFO2 01-31-04 04:38 PM

hey bootlegging is great if you are not in the music business. Hell, I love it, but it knocked both my parents out of jobs with their respected record labels. Well, they both quit but, less money is a reason.

Timeless 02-03-04 10:14 AM
