I was gonna break this down and the conenction, but look at it like this: Any solo track you see of an emcee and more than one name appears in the credits, it was either A: ghosted or B: co-written. At least half of Mic Club is written by two dudes, s. Priceman and B Hedvat. About another 45% are written by D.Zangger. Tracks dude has on Mic Club that he wrote alone?

Zero.

Last album bis wrote at least 50% of by himself was C: True Hollywood Stories.

DIdn't he write Rip the Jacker himself? He said in endless interviews that he wrote it on his stained kitchen table or sumtin like dat.

And every single rapper has somebody co-writting for them. How else they gon put out an album every yr like that. And the co-writter could be someone who just gave feedback or something.Ya neva know.Doesn't mean they made 50% of the song just cause they got they name next to the artist.

This shit is bogus....i don't believe this article.

You don't believe it because you don't want to believe it. PS, someone who says "yeah son, you should be like POW right there" don't get co-writers credits since co-writers credits get CHECKS. And liek I said, ghosts get co-writers credits since co-writers credits legally also include the performer who may not have wrote jack shit.

And yeah, bis wrote RTJ. You make it sound liek i said he can't write, lol.

Fu-k what you've heard about the industry to now, fu-k all major record labels and fu-k all major recording artists as well, fu-k Nas, Jay, Em, Nelly, Chingy, Jermaine Dupri, Dr. Dre, Russell Simmons, The ROC, All Of Shady, Desert Storm, R. Kelly, Fabolous, Joe Budden, all mainstream rappers I haven't mentioned. Let me tell you the real industry............ etc etc etc

Ooh yeah baby it feels good to be in Australia.
The lable I want to sign to is called Obese Records, its run by underground heads but its got the power to go mainstream in Australia. Instead of being shot down by this information. People should be looking at new attack plans. Make the industry work for you, dont work for them.

I'ma keep doing my thing till 2012........;)

OK....but now I'm thinking about this thing more.

If it is true...it really ain't that bad....faith evans, mariah carey, and BAbyface got in the industry through ghostwriting.SO i guess...if you look at it this way...it ain't that bad.Just cause you ghostwrite for someone doesn't mean you can't be a star. There may be record labels who may look to sign a ghostwriter.WHoever wrote this had negativity all over it.

I guess this thing could be real....but if it is...it ain't all that bad.

ooh and if this has been here for decades....why you the only one who know bout it here?I ain't the only teen here.

.Ike. 08-03-05 11:44 PM

i dont really care to be honest...i dont like it...but its not gonna stop me from rappin lol...its not like ima read this article and be like "damn im never gonna rap again".....its not gonna change for anybody no matter how the industry works...so either quit because this is probably true...or keep going and try to be either rapper A-Z

You make it sound like everyone here checked in on it. Anyone who can read will see that the artist ain't the only one who wrote their tracks. It tells you right on the CD cover.

absolutely right, but I do know someone else had a hand in writing it. I know they didn't write it all them selves - which is exactly what this topic is about.

yo....a ghostwriter is someone who doesn't get credit...they stay in the dark.
The person you are talking about is someone called a co-writer...not ghost.

Ghostwriters are not known by anyone......hence..."ghost"

and this topic states talks about ghostwriters...not co-writer.

The topic says that Rapper B writes songs while gettin NO CREDIT.None.zero.Nada.......you mixing them up now.

...Voke... 08-04-05 12:42 AM

whoooooooooo, its a gift to write....thank god

...Voke... 08-04-05 12:44 AM

I'm with doomsday i'd like the whole blowing up scence but i'd rather
live a normal life where i can chill with my girl or family without getting run on
and just live it up with the money i'm making which i think has to be a large sum
to keep them silent. and impress people who are like so what do you do for a living
nice house, O, i'm a successful writer, LOOL

As quoted by Shannon Emanuel:

Quote:
Is ghostwriting legal?

Ghostwriting has been around a long time. Some of the most influential leaders have used others to write their speeches or even autobiographies. Ghostwriters do not hold any copyrights to the finished work. This is also known as a ‘work-for-hire’ arrangement.

Some individuals will list the ghostwriter in the credits or even indicate clearly that the written piece is “by So-and-So as told to So-and-So”. This gives credit to the talents of the writer while still giving prominence to the source or creator of the piece. However, this constitutes a very small number of instances and is not required for legal purposes unless agreed to in the contract

Ghosts aren't always uncredited man. And in entertainment law, for a ghosts paycheck to be on the books for expenses (which means to be accounted for legally for 'cost of doing business' expenses like tolls, meetings, etc) they have to be listed on the track. I'm sure there's some legal back door to it liek a consultation fee or some shit like that but I'd have to read more into the law on it.

.Ike. 08-04-05 01:53 AM

Is anyone gonna put down the mic cause of this?....

Ok then stop bitchin....

TeamOne 08-04-05 02:00 AM

yea ive seen the CDs before that list other people in the credit of songs, and i figured there was shit like this goin on....... but they way he described was alot worse than i pictured it...... like i saw an Eminem CD (Encore, suckiness) and saw that like half of the tracks had the same dude credited in them along with Em.... so that guy played a big enough role in the song to be mentioned....... there was like only one or two songs i saw on Ems CD i think that only had like him listed.... and i think they were Like Toy Soldiers and Mockingbird (or maybe it was Mosh) i might have the songs alil confused but its been months since i checked the CD cover shit........ but this is exactly why i listen to shit like Infinite and SS LP...... like i sed

I knew there were ghostwriters, but he named some of the dudes i considered legends in that and i would hate to be Rapper B on some occasions cuz ill have the feelin that if i go around sayin "Yea, i wrote One Mic" on the news or even in these forums or sum shit, their might be a casket in my future accordin to him..... or atleast no more money and im prolly gonna be "cock-blocked" from gettin another deal or bein another ghost somewhere else...... kinda like wen a good-really good football player starts wilin out and shit and pissin off the team so much that no other team wants to touch him either even if he is good

TeamOne 08-04-05 02:00 AM

and can someone give me an original fuckin link?!?!1

Sean Gunner 08-04-05 02:44 AM

Well, I guess this kinda news will expose the real MC's and the rappers. The reason I write is to help the world and get my lyrics out there, if someone else has to rap them then I guess I can live with that. If you in it for the money, then you will quit if you are Rapper B.

Terumoto 08-04-05 04:07 AM
