Cos that's how it works Apos. For people to move up, someone has to move down. Winner of 3 and 4 goes to 2. Basically in the top 8 if you win you get new rank = (your current rank)/2 rounding fractions up

so loser of champ match always goes down to 8 at least

The ranking is all about momentum. People who have the same record of you, but won their last battle, will be ranked above you. People who have won less then you, but have won their last one or two battles, may be ranked above you if you just come off of a loss. It all depends on what happens to everybody else. Momentum is key.
