THANK YOU!!!! what alot of people dont seem to realise is, hip hop isnt just music, its beatbox, break dance, graffiti, dj, MC, production e.t.c in america that unity of all the elements no longer exists, but here, thats what its all about.... some of the greats in hip hop have said shit like "man i love the UK scene, all they wanna do is rhyme none stop, i went to deal real and theres heads havin cyphers all over the damn spot" also all the elements play equal parts in the scene(like it was in US back in the day) shit, even kool herc(the founder of hip hop for those who dont know) has said he loves how the UK is working the culture and is honoured by the fact we show knowledge of what HIP HOP actually is(not rap.... but HIP HOP) mos def came to perform at deal real one time(deal real being one of the biggest things goin off in london) and then the following deal real he came back to chill out and enjoy the event as a fan... shit black eyed peas went, and they got up and freestyled on the open mic, and did a pretty good job at it aswell. heads in america need to wake the fuck up and realise UK owns :p lol jokes |
i agree canibus has some good messages e.t.c, but his style and his voice just isnt from me, ive given him a chance, bought one of his albums to give him a fair chance(which is what i usually do with a new artist i come across or whatever) and i just couldnt get into it properly
|
lmao @ you proving a point for me yet you not knowing wtf I'm talking about. tee hee.
|
how did i prove ya point????

You're basing your entire views of rap off of the fake ass thug rappers who dream of being on BET and buying rims and shit? Of course you're not going to see how good it is if that's all you look at. That's the same shit the fucking critics do, they turn on BET or MTV, watch for a few minutes and think that's hip hop when we ALL know it's not. If the average american fan goes for bullshit, that doesn't mean the culture itself is fucked, it means the views of it got fucked. So if the average american emcee has to put out a certain kind of record because the label says so or because that's what the fans want, that doesn't take away his skill as an artist. UK heads have more freedom of expression but that in NO way means they have more skill B. If the UK has a more pure vision of hip hop then that's nice and shit, but skillwise, American hip hop will shit on UK hip hop any fucking day. This genius leady proves how fucking hypocritical these cats get anyways, sayin he doesn't like Bis because of his voice and then fucking whining and bitching at people who don't like UK music JUST because the accent, feel me? |
i said, i dont like his style aswell, it just isnt for me, his voice just makes it worse, simply because it sounds un-natural to me. i didnt like big l's voice, but i thought he was fuckin amasing and still bump his shit today. i can live with a voice if the style is my kind of thing so dont try judge me on that.
|
You're just making excuses now leady, but ok, I understand, most people don't like to admit when they're being a hypocrite.

thats y i said hip hop right now is confused..i also said its still alot of emcees out here who keep this hip hop stuff real..mostly over there where you are or the mid-west..east coast is meh in the hip hop game now..and what you talkin about with freedom is easy to explain.hmm...if a label makes a rapper rap somethin he doesnt want then he signed the contract for the money..an artist shouldnt sign a contract that is gonna make them chance how they rap..they might as well sell their soul Soc..and u kno it lol..but anyway..another thing..honeslty..fuck the fans..if you're a real emcee you should always be your first fan..if you dont like it, fuck wit the people like..why go with the grain? to sell? Nah see..just gettin some music that you really like out to a group of supporters whether it sells or not is what would be betta IMO..but thats just me..and nah thats not all i look at, but thats all i see..i look at the real emcees out here man..but still i cant help to see everybody tryna be the same..got so bad that the two groups had beats that had the same baseline wit the snap but a different sample or tempo..everybody wanna snap lol..fuck dat shit.. |
not at all, read my post in reply to d, i said i dont like his style aswell, it just isnt for me.
big l didnt have a voice for rap, but he had the skills, the style and production behind him to cover that up and he worked his voice rather than his voice working him(which in my opinion is where canibus needs to work on).... i could name many other artists whos voice i dont like but still bump due to the fact they make good music with style and skills. |

We're talking about a culture of people who come from a certain area dumbass. Soccer wasn't formed around English culture and where they come from and the experience from that, it's just a sport. Hip-hop was created in the hood, for the hood, and about the hood, whether you want to admit it or not. So when it hit America and developed here with ALL the early greats coming FROM here, it does matter ya big jackass. |

Well the music industry is fucked as a whole over here. Put thousands or millions of dollars on the table in front of most people and they'll do whatever to take it, even though most purists like you and me wouldn't. As far as I can tell, the UK isn't filled with that type of shit where fads catch on every couple of years when record execs want to give a new group a gimmick, right? So I really don't think it's the hip hop being fucked up over here, just the music industry especially for rap/hip hop. I don't see how that makes the UK hip hop better, like I said, probably more pure, but not better. *shrugs* |

Canibus is so fucking raw just rip the fuckouttayou type hardcore shit and his voice eccentuates that. I don't see how that's so wrong. Just like Cam'ron couldn't be spittin with Bis' voice, Bis needs his voice for the style he goes for. He changes it up a lot so I know he controls it, listen to Poet Laureate II if you don't believe me. |
america these days is all about money.
klashnekoff(imo one of the best in the UK) was offered a deal by rocafella, and he turned it down cos thats not what hes about, hes completely indipendant at the minute, and has said when the right deal comes hell take it, but wont scarifice nothing for it, and then look who rocafella sign instead.... S.A.S... which as we all know then went with diplomats. fact is, american lables want some of our best artists, but simply, cant have them which i honestly find fuckin hilarious. |
One guy and that's your proof? American labels want to sign a lot of American heads and they can't, woopty fuckin doo.
|
Quote:
like i said i listened to one album ages ago and it wasnt for me... upload that song and ill happily check it out. |
Quote:
my point is, people say UK is wack blah blah blah.... but american lables want to sign so many of the UK's artists and then basically get laughed at and then end up forced to sign our wacker artists, klashnekoff isnt the only one, theres quite a few and im pretty damn sure therell be plenty more. |
|
Quote:
Here's a hint... Dem Franchise Boyz Dipset Paul Wall Big Gipp Lil' Romeo The Bravehearts etc etc ^^Major labels wanted to sign them too, and did. That doesn't change the fact that they FUCKING SUCK. |
Quote:
his voice sounds less course than i remember, which is good, i dont like the beat, other than that, this is pretty good. |
Quote:
ya dee ya dee ya dee ya at the end of the day you said U.S hip hop will always be better because U.S invented it. to some people football is their life like hip hop is to people in the endz and council estates...which ironically is where you'll find most footie fanatics...but you wouldn't know that coz you blink and all you see is what you wanna see and you hear what you wanna hear. I mean come on for someone called Logic...you don't half chat frap son  |
aight look.
like truthfully. I don't have anything against american hiphop. i listen to a fair amount. and thats straight. but the others, they're getting their paycheck. and that's what matters. it's the message that it gives out for our culture that bothers me. like ok. when white people and society see videos like that. they don't fucking see music. they dont see the come up. they dont the struggle, the blood, the sweat, the hustle.they see a bunch of stupid dance dancing negroes. and im not part of that. i dont want to be generalized into that shit. and UK hiphop.. that shit is just raw b. you dont see no niggas going around making songs about candy or fucking chicken noodle soup. it's just raw. but for real though @ logic, open minds listen with open ears. im not tryna imply that youre closed minded. but for real, broaden your horizons and i swear you'll feel it. |
Quote:
THANK YOU i too have nothing against U.S hip hop either...everyone knows they have some sick artists...but generally UK hip hop will continue to remain true to it's roots purely because it's not been given the exposure it deserves but at the same time, seeing what it did to U.S hip hop, could also do without. |
Quote:
^^Uhh its called the ENGLISH language, not the american:) So there goes 1 of your "american heads are better" LOL@Americans havin better flow & rhythm..thats just ignorant.Have you even listend too UK hip hop?? Man Soc's new name is a hypocritical thing...wouldn't worry bout it... |
UK hip hop is weak.
check out nas thiefs theme remix featuring rising son(from the UK) or check out the B side of one of dilated pupils vinyls(cant remember which one) but foriegn beggars dropped on that also. foriegn beggars also recently did work with darkchild and sum others, erm blak twang is signed to def jam(one of its many side lables, cant remember which one though) but i know hes done alot of work with def jam artists and affiliates. foriegn beggars recently toured canada aswell, man theres alot of artists in the UK that are doing it big but at the same time keeping to their roots. and yes canibus did live in the UK and many many many american artists have said theyve concidered moving to the UK simply because of how raw the scene is over here. i went to see dead prez in leeds not too long ago when they toured the UK, and i think dead prez are sick, but even they admitted that the opening acts outshined them on that night(all of which were UK artists). seriously, it pisses me the fuck off when ignorant little dicked fuck wits try commenting and judgeing a countries scene cos of their own close minded views when they clearly have no actual knowledge about the UK scene and probably know very little about the history of the hip hop culture in general. |
That was directed to??^^
|
anybody who says UK hip hop isnt doing anything lol
oh i forgot to mention skinnyman and forget other guys name, but they just did that video with krs one and paradise which is sickness |
listen to BLAZIN SQUAD
NOW THATS SOME REAAAAAAL UK HIP HOP NICCA |
Quote:
proof man knows nothing Blazin' Squad are shit... |

not all black rappers are and forever will be better then white rappers, just because someone created it doesnt mean theyre always gonna be better, that would mean new york emcees are better then the rest of the country just because it was created in NY and about the uk shit, i cant stand the accent, if there was no accent i would listen but its unbearable |
Quote:
i agree wit the first paragraph but the last sentence...tut tut tut :nono: |
wrong post oops.......
|
rofl @ blazin squad, oh my days... plus they no longer exist mainly cos of the shit they got from the real heads.
i agree with compose on the first part. and if you wanna be really pedantic, then bronx rappers would be better than rest of new york cos thats really where it come from. |
Another one of these.
UK got mainly that lyrical thing going so its a better listen to real hiphop fans whereas US is mainly gangster fag shit stuff. Both us and uk have nice artists. I prefer UK to listen to though but thats just an opinion init. |
Quote:
Black rappers will be overall better than white rappers until the white rappers are born into it. Most white rappers are suburban kids that discover hip hop in their early teens while most black rappers have heard it and been around it since they popped out of the pussy. The key word is most. The rest of y'all are in loophole arguments and not realizing what I was saying when I say it, just assuming because that's what you want to do, so fuck it. y'all aint worth my time. |
Na not even most.
Possibly some but ya know, you dont have to be born into something to be good at it. Natural talent around yaknow? |
you base your views upon stereotypes.
come to the UK, hit up our council estates(orcommunity housing projects for americans). you get alot of them that are mainly black populated, but then you get alot that are extremely multy racial, and then places like scotland and ireland(belfast for example) are white... i heard hip hop for the first time when i was 5 years old. you base your opinions on ignorance, stereotypes and your own twisted perception of things rather than hard facts. |
You KNOW that most people that buy hip hop albums nowadays are suburban white kids, right? Where the fuck do they get it from, their parents? NO, they stumble across it much later in life than a black kid (let's say ummmm me) who has been around it all his life. That isn't a fact but it's pretty damn well derived. That's not saying that some white people may not have it like that, but MOST is the key word. So when they try to become rappers it's not as natural coming from them as someone like me and the skill suffers as a part of that.
Man you guys are more close minded than you think I am. |
again... you can not prove it, so how is it a fact???
and you are talking about people buying pop rap albums, not REAL hip hop albums... i really cannot be bothered to debate with your close minded ignorance any longer, so you carry on talking noncense. |
