It's just stereotypical to think that no surburban white kid is "packing gats" or "slanging 'cane" just as it's stereotypical to think that all black kids in the ghetto are doing this.

Past Tense 07-14-06 03:39 AM

^^^fuck the burbs from your cousey little home your typing too us in RIGH?

Indeph 07-14-06 03:39 AM

Only black people live in the ghetto?

Past Tense 07-14-06 03:45 AM

i used too live in the ghetto or whatever when i was younger....but my family decided too stop being lazy and got off there asses got jobs and now were a lil bit below avg. I personally dont see what the big thing about being from the hood or the burbs is your forgettin about the middle or a lil below the middle man.......

I mean a suburban kid shouldn't have to say "sure my parents are getting a divorce, my best friend died, i got molested, I'm failing in school, I'll never be able to walk again, I'm a drug attict, and I get jumped everyday, but at least I have food on my table and a roof over my head." It just seems rediculous to me.

Well, what if they didn't have food on their table, or a roof over their head? YOU have food on your table, and a roof over your head. I know kids who are white, who live in the suburbs, and they're kicked out of their home, and if they try and come back their parents will call the cops on them. They're stuck on the streets, homeless. What's worse is, they can't go home, but they can't be on the streets either because their drug boss is looking for the money he's been owed for weeks, and if he or any of his boys catch these kids, without the money, then they're going to break every bone in their bodies. To add to that, the cops are looking for them too, because they have a warrant on them for breaking an entering. Why? Well, if you're on the street with cops and drug bosses looking for you, you can't sleep, you need to always be on the move, and to not sleep for weeks straight requires drugs like ecstasy or speed to keep you up for the night. But you have to pay for drugs right? Where does that money come from? Ah yes, the houses that were broken into and robbed ofcourse.

Indeph 07-14-06 03:50 AM

Was that a counterpoint? I didn't say anything against that.

The answer to both questions is no. You must not have realised that I was referring to how the ghetto is stereotyped.

Great way of breaking the chain of stereotyping. Good job.

Terumoto 07-14-06 05:00 AM

Both are fine in my eyes, it doesnt bother me where somebody comes from.

The only thing is if one of those rich suburbian kids doesnt appreciate what they actually have, and takes everything for granted. That really pisses me off. That includes (but is not limited to) black burbs kids ACTING like they are from the ghetto/poor, or wanting to be from the ghetto/poor.

Past Tense 07-14-06 11:00 AM

^^that would have explained everyone at Capital High School in Olympia

I'm not trying to say the burbs is worse then the ghetto and everyone there is living a hard life. i don't understand what you're tryin to say man. that the ghetto is rough...and the burbs are...kinda rough??

ok, so we agree. Am I missing something here, or what?

You said if a kid from the burbs were to say how bad his life is you'd laugh. So what I said was, there are some kids from the burbs with life just as bad as some kids from the ghetto.

yeah?? like who?

dude you can't even compare those two and for you to even think that shows that you have no idea what the ghetto is like. know what? you should be thankful for that.

GREVISS 07-14-06 03:28 PM

most of the hip hop i can think of is born from poverty...lack of
opportunity...struggle...ending in riches...
you start from riches and go backwards...thats fucked
its like 8mile...mr mathers is in a trailer park...not the burbs

I am.

Oh btw, this is what I meant, no one thinks it's possible for a white kid in the burbs to be living a hard life. That's such a false generalization -_-.

Pretty much........ -_-

And if you STILL think i'm trying to say that burbs is as bad as the ghetto, then SMFH. I'm not even trying to argue with you, all i'm saying to you, is that there ARE SOME kids in the burbs with worse lives then SOME kids in the ghetto.

once again man, in the context of struggles , the white kid in the burbs's "struggle" is a fuckin joke.

yeah, they have their share, but it's miniscule compared to the hood struggle.

why do you keep repeating your self and why am I repeating my self? I acknowledged you numerous times man.

Mad Dog 07-14-06 06:15 PM

kids in rich areas don't really experience a proper struggle if you'll put it

but they have their own set of struggles...like not having as much in their bank account "shit i ain't got 6 mill...i only got 5.9 mill now...better sell that lamborghini"

meh
