To be honest with you, right now is when I want someone to just take charge and fix shit. I could care less if I'm in the dark about certain things as long as my country gets fixed so my children don't end up as college graduates with minimum wage jobs.
I right now am looking at a couple of people for a couple of reasons. I like McCain because he has most of the ideas to help the economy instantly by stopping all the pork barrel spending. His website, when he started campaigning, showed all the money that was funded by the government to places like Toilet Bowl Museums and off the wall stuff like that. The total number was in the billions. I also think he is the least loyal to his party, but more loyal to his country. What I mean by this is he has a track record for crossing party lines to work with democrats on issues to come up with compromises. He actually got ridiculed for it by the other Republican candidates. Now on the flip side. I think the first thing we need to do to fix our economy and our country in general is to bring the troops home. I didn't say get out of Iraq for a reason. We have troops all over the middle east and parts of Africa that get absolutely no media attention so you wouldn't know too much about them. We are actually in those places for good reasons and what kind of news story would that be. I think the start to a good economy comes from a government who is not in a deficit. We are spending way too much money to send our troops over seas and are seeing nothing back from it. Did you know that when a Soldier goes over seas his whole pay is tax free. He also gets extra money for being away from his family and for being in a combat area and so on, but all that money that us Soldiers are raking in over there is all tax free. What do you think most Soldiers do with that money? Well, while we're off in these places with little to no entertainment or escape from the cold hard war, we go out on the local economy and buy up their bootleg DVDs, food, electronics, etc. Us Soldiers are pumping all of this tax free money into the economy of the middle east. Am I saying we shouldn't get this extra pay when we're put in harms way? No. I'm saying we shouldn't be in harms way for more than we need to be and should worry about protecting our country more than someone else's. I feel very strongly about this and this is why I want some reason to vote for someone else. But to be honest with you, I think I'd rather vote for Hilary than Obama. I don't know why I get the feeling that Obama is a fast talker who just says what you want to hear, but that's how I feel. If I knew his issues, point blank, I might not feel that way. All the controversy is for people with little to no brain capacity. Bill Clinton was caught in a huge scandal in his personal life and I think he did more for our country's economy than any other president. I don't really like Hilary's stand on health care though. I don't like this universal health care system yet because it's just going to take more money from our tax dollars that our country just doesn't have yet. My favorite candidate was John Edwards. I wish he was still campaigning for the Democrats because he would have got my vote, not because he was a white male, but because during all the debates, he was the only one that stuck to the issues and didn't point fingers at other people. I felt he really cared about the middle to lower class people (people making less than $100,000 a year). And to go back to what Blay said about me stereotyping.......I may have, but I pulled up to the office in my military uniform, in my 1997 Ford Contour with only one hub cap left and no air conditioning, and my free cell phone that I got for signing up with Sprint because I needed a cell phone for my job. The people I saw were well dressed, talking and messaging on what looked like expensive phones and irritated that the line for free money wasn't moving faster. They could have been trying to better themselves as well, but I put them in a class of people that weren't, which wasn't fair. Sorry Blay. I'll try not to judge so quickly next time. Seriously. |
^^ why ask us what it is that he is going to do? Research up on what he say's about the changes that you actually want. If you disagree with him, than obvisouly you should feel more sided to another canadate, which in all respects is ok. Just becuase we say Obama is goign in the right direction doens't mean that you should also feel the same way.
I was goin for Mcain when he was an idependet, before he joined up in the Republican party. He was a very level headed guy, but since than i've just seen that Obama is what Mcain used to stand for. but...regardless America > Canada ...all day son. word |
I actually went to Obama's site before, but had to enter my email address and shit like that which usually means spam is coming your way by the boat load. I'll look up on him though when I get some more free time......right now I'm off to work. Saving the world, one reenlistment at a time

Theres some good debate going on in here :) Cheers to that ....
Let me add one thing real quick.... since i skimmed most of the pages... i noticed Mcain had some support... regarding his ideas to help the "economy"??? This is the same man who openly admits he has no knowledge of how our Economy works.... the dude knows nothing when it comes to fixing our current financial collapse... and to trust him with our dollars in the future would be like trusting a crack head to hold your wallet while you took a leak... so to speak... you know what im saying... McCain is the only presidential hopeful who is commited to keeping this war going.... mind you i support the troops.... but at the same time.... how many Americans need loose their lives in exchange for a "FREE IRAQ" .... To my knowledge there already free... Sadam is dead.... its up to them to secure their future.... But ... Bush has put his support behind McCain yesterday in News Confrence on CNN.... so we can be sure if Dubya gets his way... we'll be at war for at least the next 4 years... The other side of the coin is this....a change in the course of history... We can become that great nation again... if we go wit a Democrat ... i like obama but clinton will do.... to lead us out of Iraq ... away from Afghanastan... away from Iran and syria.... and back home where all that money is needed despretly to help rebound us from the recession we in... We need to look to alternative fuels... stop this Oil whoring... we Need alternative energy... which is something that the Dems are big on... We need jobs here at home... and a second or third Stimulus package :) .... i mean come on people... we can do better than we have the last 7 years.... and we deserve better... PS >... FUCK REV. WRIGHT .... that fool is DESTROYING OBAMA's Canadicy ... and the media needs to stop coverin his dumb ass. |

you bet son. long as your guys gov't keeps you believing america is the best country to live in, we have another chuckle up north. word. 1 |

"i like obama but clinton will do.... to lead us out of Iraq ... away from Afghanistan... away from Iran and Syria.... and back home where all that money is needed desperately to help rebound us from the recession we in... We need to look to alternative fuels... stop this Oil whoring... we Need alternative energy... which is something that the Dems are big on... We need jobs here at home... and a second or third Stimulus package" But need I remind you, your vote is going to one of the Evils. not the Goods. You must be fooled or stupid? Obama gets more money from the Nuclear Industry than Hillary. Why would a nuclear industry donate money to people? What does a Nuke Industry gain from a future president? Use your fucking head... Mike Gravel wants all those things you talked about, he has plans for them all, he WAS democrat but because he talked bad about Hillary Clinton saying she's Anti-Iraq, and pointing out that Hillary Clinton voted FOR the Iran war, he was cut out of the debates. General Electric, the war-profiting business that owns CNN and hosted the democratic debates, then demanded that Mike Gravel have 1,000,000 dollars in order to show up on the next Democratic debate. Obama said "There's nothing off the table with respects to Iran". And he gets funded MOST by the Nuclear Industry, fishy? Nahhhh..... once you accept campaign money from a corporation, you are in-debt. Sorry, but John Mccain, Barack Obama (Even though he said he doesn't accept money from them, lie.), and Hillary Clinton all take money from big corporations. Ron Paul and Mike Gravel don't because they both know it's wrong, thus corporations have no reason to invest money into someone who won't help them while in power. America can't help anyone until it helps itself. So uh, yeah, waste your vote on the evils instead of the good. I'll keep making my point on this site that there ARE better choices than Obama, Mccain, and Clinton, but I'll keep getting told it's a wasted vote on chance. Well, not to me, because in the end I can say "Well at least I didn't vote for that guy, he just made America a little bit worse, as I expected". While YOU can say "But I didn't know!!!!"... cry. |
I have yet to vote for a winning candidate. I was able to vote against Bush twice to no avail. Anyway, I took a look at websites today of Obama and McCain because I believe they will be the two candidates to choose from when the time comes in November. I only looked at their "Issues" link because that's all I'm really concerned with. I didn't really agree with any of Obama's issues on how he plans to solve things other than leaving Iraq. Even though I'm a Soldier, I think its time we just let them thrive or fall on their face, but without our help anymore. I thought McCain's economic plans were more well thought out than Obamas which included tapping into the oil reserve to help lower the cost of fuel in our country. The reason we have such a high price for gas and oil is because we are importing most of it. Our dollar sucks in the world right now and the price of oil is not rising in other countries. Its rising in ours because our exchange rate blows donkey dick.
Anyway, I wish Obama would go more in depth on his website on how he plans to do things while president because he made like 3 points of how we can help the economy while McCain had double digits. I do, however, completely disagree with McCain's views on Iraq. He wants us to put even more troops in there to wipe out all the terrorists and declare victory. It seems more like he's trying to win a video game than actually dealing with people's lives. Anywho......just a few more cents from your friendly neighborhood Enygma  |
^ i think its funny that one of the things you AGREE with McCain on is his economic plan to lower the price of oil... it is estimated that his plan will have the possibility to save every American $25 TOPS. and thats the same for every American, rich or poor. doesn't sound like a long-term solution to me... McCain's plan is a short-term fix that will last just long enough to get him into office.

Well...Obama did CHOOSE Rev. Wright as his pastor.
...and sat under his teachings for 20+ years!!!! 1 |
Fuck Hilary.
Obama for 08. |

Two "Ls" dude. two NOBAMA! 1 |
Quote:
and you DISAGREE with Rev. Wright's preachings? i understand why Obama is having to denounce them for the purposes of being elected President of the United States by the WHOLE nation, but if you actually look at the issues he's discussing, his ideas are not drastic or un-precedented. |
Quote:
He's an idiot. If he's living in America, and enjoying the benefits of being an American, then, he should STFU. "GOD DAMN AMERICA." That's damning himself. He's an American. O wait...maybe not... Then, LEAVE. 1 |
Uh, I'm leaving. Then when I do, and I say "God Damn America"
you'll either say, quite predictably: "You don't even understand America because you don't live here" OR "You're jealous". Please don't explain yourself I know the reason. |
^^I was talking about Rev. Wright sir.
1 |
But aren't we talking about an American saying the words "God Damn America"?

2v > Q ...all day son ALL DAY!

Quote:
Exactly...which is why he's a hypocrite. Obama sat under the man for 20 years, but only now is "outraged" by his remarks? pssf Politics at its best. 1 |
Quote:
he was speaking of America in terms of the government/dominant ideological America ya big lesbian dumby. and, that is quite possibly one of the most ignorant arguments i have ever heard. "criticizing america is un-american and if you do it then you should leave." ummmmmmm, ACTUALLY, one of those "benefits" of being an American that you mention is the ability to CRITICIZE the government, or anybody you damn well please. this patriotic "American" that you are claiming everybody should conform to has been created by our society, it isn't natural. |
Quote:
Criticizing America isn't un-American if you include yourself. Otherwise, he's a self-righteous hypocrite. He enjoys America's benefits. Yet, he has "issues" with America? Eh eh can't have it both ways. DUMMY 1 |
So just because you're able to enjoy your country it means that it can't improve and you can't be unsatisfied with certain parts of it - because you like SOME parts of it?
So you're looking at America as if it's a lifespan. "Oh well we have bad things but that's life Ehuhuhushaduhauhshdhuhuhhhh ..." Tha Q I still don't believe you're over the age of 23. Sorry. But 23 is the oldest idiot I know and you're just below that. |
Quote:
he enjoys the benefits of being an AMERICAN, one of which is being able to criticize the government of AMERICA. there is a distinction there. |
Enygma just said black people would riot and used that statement to ask whites to riot if the white guy doesn't win. negative 100 cool points
And frankly I don't see either candidate actually doing anything majorly positive for the country. Obama right now is just the least of 3 evils to me. I can't honestly believe people are still gonna support mccain after the previous administration. NAME ONE of his policies that differ from bush. His economic policies, his foriegn relations policies, EVERYTHING BUT his immigration policy is the same as bushs. I know some of you refuse to vote for hilary or obama because you're super cool and original and write off anyone who votes for either of them as voting for them because they're a woman or black, but seriously =/ You're willing to throw away 4 another generation of this country just to go against the grain? Honestly now. And mccain is gonna win btw. Hilary voters are gonna vote for mccain if obama wins and Hilary's been so damn negative obama voters arent gonna vote for her if she wins. Plus like I mentioned earlier, mccain has somehow secured a position as "the real candidate". And hilary and obama are written off as celebrity candidates because their gender and race gets people's attention. Obama I can see doing good things on a community level, but his views on immigration are ? worthy. He's for giving ILLEGAL immigrants drivers liscenes? THEYRE ILLEGAL lmao what the hell why would you do that, I don't understand it. He probably did it for the latin vote. On the flipside he's also doing something to make LEGALLY entering the country easier, which is fine. I'm voting for obama, but I'm 100% sure he isn't gonna win. |
^ basic principle of communications studies (what i'm studying): anybody who is not the hegemonic white male is therefore defined BY their race/sex. hence the ever present "white priveledge" of actually being able to establish an individual identity.
god, everytime i read one of your posts i am overwhelmed with hope that somebody on RV actually thinks. |
Quote:
If you "damn" something that you're part of, then, you "DAMN" yourself. That makes him a hypocrite. You can't be above the system and in it simultaneously, all the while enjoying the benefits of it. 1 |

Idealistic bullshit. Did you even READ what I said? I said..."Criticizing America IS NOT un-American if you INCLUDE yourself" Otherwise, you're a condescending prick...enjoying the luxuries of America... Move to Iran or some other country you can't do shit...then talk that yik yak. Iran kills homosexuals cuz they don't know better. Come over here with that bullshit and it wouldn't last a minute. You can't be dogmatic and renounce something you're part of. That's like an alcoholic denouncing A.A. He's a loud mouth. He's serving no one. "God Damn America"?? Thank GOD, that GOD isn't listening to that nonsense. God BLESS America. Don't be young AND ignorant... 1 |
*scratches eye*
ok keep telling yourself that Q. Just like you been telling yourself for years you'll make it. I denounce the secrecy of corporations in this country, I hate it, I hate the people in charge and I hate their goals in politics, I hate how they've changed America and I hate their goals of further change in the future, and the public can do NOTHING about it. God damn them and god damn America. and while I am a part of America, I have nothing to do with the bad things in the above few sentences, therefore I am accepting the benefits of America and still damning it as a whole, for being SO motherfucking stupid. No wait, I'm ignorant right? ... don't answer that. |

thats dumb, she technically cant when due to there not being enough deligets availible for her to win. only way she could win is for oboma to concede, which he won't. and the pastor thing isn't even a big deal, he already broke ties with him now and the guys smart enough not to mess up oboma's chances. and the familure name thing. people dont like the situation the countries in so they won't vote for the same asses who've put us here, they want change. and john mcaine is a douche, so he'll be the next prez. put this cracka oboma on some currency quick, and make up for all the slave owners on'em. -werd |
