Many celeberties turn politicians, Arnold is not the first. I do not understand why people consider someone who is not a life long politicain, a bad choice. Look at what the life long politicains, in control of this state, have done to date. Sometimes a breath of fresh air is needed to turn things around. Our founding fathers were farmers and businessmen, yet stand out in world history as some of the most compatent politicans of all time. It's a huge misconception that a politican is someone who has been working in, or studing civics all their life. That is so wrong, a true politicans is a member of a community who has the moral, business and social ethics, right for the job at hand. It's always been this way, so why are so many people condeming Arnold for not having served in public office before? Ignorance? Lack of reasoning? Just to make a statement? Corruption is breed into the life long politicain, simply because of the disconnect with the people durring a life long career in politics. I rather have someone fresh from the communtiy who is in touch with the people, who can relate to the people. Davis has proved his disconnect with Californians, and has admitted that in his conceedance speech. Eveyone of you that down Arnold, or claim he is oblivious to the issues, or simply stupid, need to rethink your positions. The man is a very sucessful business man. He has been succesful at everything he has done in life. He has exhibited excellece in evey aspect of his life. Why wouldn't we want someone like that in public office. He is a go getter, he follows through, and everyone can see his ambition and will power and Charecter. It takes more than some fancy suit, a cheap degree and great PR people to make a difference in this day and age. It's take someone with backbone and initiative. I think everyone can agree Arnold does posses everyone of these qualities. So enough said! Point made! Who's to say Opey, Ghod, or Myself are not politicans, becasue a politican is someone concerned for the people and someone willing to stand up and fight for what is in favor of the people. Not some people, but the majority of the people. Anyone of you could pursue an active career in politics, regardless of your experience, that's the American way. Did you people forget that? Or did you all miss that civics class? Arnold does not represent the Hollywood elite (far left) or else he would have been endorsed on the democratic party. This is one of the key reasons he did not get as many votes as he would have, if he were. A good politican knows talk is cheap and Arnold reflected that in his run, he did not allow the liberal media to misrepresent anything he said by not saying much. He outlined a plan for his first 180 days in office, I seen it, and I thought is was solid. Yet many have not looked into it, they rather listen to the media for thier informaton. It's all there outlined on his web site. He has a very respectable transition team, one that employees heavy wieghts in the political world. He is endorsed by Bill simmon, a true fiscal conservative and has David Drieir leading this transition. Come on how can you tell me his administration is incompatent without sounding ignorant yourself?

Anyone?

About the comment by KGM, Cali is going to burn? Our feet are already on the fires, should we just wait around watch our state roast. Hell no, I rather have a JFK era Democrate in office than the current liberally infested democrates remain. I know Arnold is seen a another Kennedy due to his maritial status but even so, his fiscal conservativeness aligned with the democrate idoeologies of old (kennedy clan) is a step up from the current norm. So burn, I think not, will he turn the state around, I think he and his team could.

Bounce, my man...

Fellow father...

That was a great fuckin statement you made.

It was worth the long ass read.

I think Arnie will do better for fine.

I'm still of the opinion that he'll do such an outstanding job...

They'll pass an amendment and make the guy president.

But that's just me.

Shit, I hear Jesse Ventura did alot for the people of Minnesota.

Am I correct about this?

If so, I don't see why Arnie wouldn't do the same for Cali.

(The reason I mention Ventura is because I know he and Arnie are pretty tight in person and probably think along the same lines...just an assumption)

bouncedoggydog 10-10-03 03:35 PM

Ventura did alot of good in his term as govenor of Minnesota. What stood out most (in my mind) was his transition from the reform party during his bid, to an independant after he secured office. This was a well planned and thought out tactic, I appluaed him for it. Many of the changes his term made will not be imediatly recognized but in the years that pass he will be seen a good influence over the sate's legislation. Just like those policies over looked during the Nixon years, today they are all eye opening. Our leaders have to work thier terms with the futre generations in mind, not just the current special interest groups funneling money into thier reelection runs. I mean look now at the Regan administration, the man was a genious. He won the cold war with little to no conflict. I remember these word in his address to the union and the international body. "Tear down that wall Mr Gorbi" In that day and age something like that was unheard of, yet he consistanly applied pressure on the USSR, which lead to the end of the cold war. People only remember their status durring an administration but not that of importance. What policies, negotiations and conflicts brought the freeworld even futher along. It's those issue's we need to look at, not the way that current administration makes you feel right now. It's about the preservation of the American way of life, that's what is has always been about, why change now?

Born To Kill 10-10-03 04:15 PM

Yeah...

I know I tend to do that sometimes...

I think we all do.

We look at our current situation.

If we're making money and rolling...

We love the president...

Even though it may not have been that particular president that's enriching our lives.

I remember the Reagan era, being fuckin 34, I lived it.

I know the horrible gas prices, the recession and shit...

Didn't 100% come from him.

Ford and Carter left some of their prints on that shit too.

Trying to keep up with, like you said, Nixon's policies...

He may have been a "crook", but Nixon was a genius and ahead of his time.

Good views, Bounce.

bouncedoggydog 10-10-03 05:41 PM

Thank you,

But I have to disagree with the crook lable placed on Nixion. He went down for what others in his administration did, without his consent. That does not matter, if it's in your administration then you should be man enough to denounce it as he did and step down out of ethic. He did I respect him for that. That is why he was pardoned by Johnson. What followed in the next eight years was the down fall that we are witnessing today. Johnson and Carter hurt America with amny of their international policies, they made us weaker in the eye's of the world. I love history, especially political history. I at one point had ambitions to be a politician myself, but I think I do more for this country and it's people by securing it. I do have a heavy influence on Defense policy and politics, so I make my contrabutions in a clandestine manner. I don't need the attention most political figures crave, I just need to know I did somethig positive for our childrens future. Thats all the thanks I need, knowing our children will grow up in a safer enviorment. Take it easy killa

Born To Kill 10-10-03 05:55 PM

Yo, I agree with ya, Bounce...

That's why "crook" was in quotes...

Cuz that's his label, but I ain't followin that opinion.

Like you said, he just took the fall like a man's suppossed to do.

Be peaceful, my man.

Good talkin issues with ya.
