Umm i think your a mainstream rapper, when your songs get played on Radios and M tv and shit constantly and constantly and constantly. Where i live they don't play any underground music on radio or tv, unless its like 3 in the morning, so if you can get your shit on the radio in australia i would label you mainstream.

Every rapper that is intending to make money is commercial, because thats the meaning, but people on this site, who have no intention would fit into the underground category, because they have no commercial income, but ppl like spliv who have thye latest albums in their sigs, are commercial rappers.

what i dont understand is, that if your underground like non-phixion, taskforce, sage francis etc then how came they still put there albums out and advertising them? wouldnt that be commercialising themselves for people to buy there shit?

My definitions:

Commerical: Sellouts that want money for the raps that they do, they are nto devoted to rap, they want money and want to be known by the world. Or they need money and have no other way to do it.

Underground: Best rappers in the world that don't want to sellout to companys but are satisfied being welknown by all the other underground people.

Easy as that.

I will listen to what sounds dope to me, and right now 99% of whats being played on mtv,radios,bet whatever, doesnt appeal to me.

Therefore i think i may be a little bias towards underground shit, but i always keep an open mind about "commercial" artists, even though i dont think i will like one anytime soon.
