Tupac
Rakim
Eminem
Copywrite
Royce
Eyedea

There are a lot of very good ones, but I think these ones stand out

ELEETE 01-19-04 12:19 AM

^Royce? Cmon man he hasn't had a big impact yet. Eyedea? Cmon....no.....in this subject you can't really ask who's was the greatest. Cause there's so many other factors that take hold lik what style? Who has had the biggest impact or what not. But in my opinion:
( )=why I like em.
Tupac (poetic)
Biggie (poetic)
Run-DMC (paved the way)
Rakim (illest lyricists)
Jay-Z (poetic, illest lyricists)
Nas (poetic, illest lyricists)
Dr. Dre (made big things, best producer)
Eminem (illest lyricists)
LL Cool J (poetic, been around fo a minute)

Those that said 50......I think 50 is hot but as far as being the greatest? Hell no! Mystical? Fuuuuuuck no!!! I see Kanye doin big things as we'll as some others.

Happy Thoughts 01-19-04 01:13 AM

Hmm. Personally, I like Will Smith. He doesn't kill anyone in his records.

Brethren 01-19-04 04:29 PM

I just think Royce is a very polished lyricist

ELEETE 01-19-04 10:20 PM

Ill give you that Royce is very polished. Has some dope tracks that flaunt his talent for exaple King of Kings.

And to the person that said "2pac made Dr. Dre".... you dont know what your talking about. Dre practically started gangsta rap with NWA in 1987-1988. 2pac didn't get into the gangsta scene until 1996 (and only got into the solo rapping scene in 1991). In fact, All Eyez On Me with it's single California Love probably gave 2pac most of his current popularity. And it was produced by Dr. Dre.

And 50 Cent is NOT the greatest MC of all time. Not because he's mainstream, because he's crap.

^ Schooled everyone, Nice input hommie. Saved my time ^

Tuff Target 01-19-04 10:29 PM

unbiased standpoint: Rakim
