I gotta say if we talking freestyle, Eyedea is one of the best lyricist right now out there.. I know a lotta people think his written stuff is weak because it's a bit out there. I personally love it, but I see where they coming from. Still though, he's the best freestyle lyricist out there, check him out on Blaze Battle.

Ace rock is nasty too, same with Can Ox.

Rakim is the best lyricist, either him or Immortal Technique...kanyes not even on their level...

Well, I would say that most of the Def Jux crew is quite impressive lyrically... el-p, vast and vogul or whatever from Can Ox, Aese Rock obviously.. also a guy named Illogic whos got his own label now I think, Weightless Records or some ish like that.
