Why does God need the money? If it goes to the church, how do they spend it? On incense and Bible study classes for kids that are already christians? But women who grew up in a hostile environment and got raped and had twins they have to take care of themselves don't deserve your money, but the church should instead get that juicy 10%?

What does your church spend it on? Or is that a personal matter for them?

So you believe the church needs Bible Studies for already-christians, but daughters and sons of God who are lost in poverty and depression do not deserve kindness and thus a new hope for the goodness in the world? And you'd rather get your blessing of free golf rounds than feed a starving family?

Churches used to do all of that kind of stuff, but now its always those charity organizations. So the intent is there, there is nothing wrong with the scripture, what's wrong is the times and the people.

That belongs to God and Him alone. And, he says He will "...not share my glory with another."

If its gods money, its the peoples money. How can God keep a man-made concept to himself? Its saying don't share your glory with another, not dont share your money with another.

There is not contradiction bro...The question was, "Why does God need money." God doesn't need our money. He owns universes. The scruopture in Malachi 3 says, 'Bring your TITHES and OFFERINGS into the storehouse (church) so there will be meat (substance)..." Who needs substance? PEOPLE DO. God isn't going to rain money from cumulonimbus clouds. So, he wants US to help each other by giving. A tithe is also our way of giving thanks to God for providing so generously. Ha...Funny...Uncle Sam takes 30%. God is so good. He wakes us up in the morning and we have a problem giving Him a measly 10? NAH MAN!

But Q, like Hades was saying, what if some churches have lost the plot? What if instead of spending the money on God's people, they spend it on like a new projector so the congregation can see the hymn words better, or they repaint, or buy bible study work books for the bible study group...

I mean theres nothing wrong with those things, but wouldnt it be better for people to make sure the church they give their money to is using it to help the unfortunate, or alternatively giving the money to organizations that are put together for the sole purpose of helping people?

Well, the words provide the meaning. So, that's a moot point. Regarding your other concerns, I definitely understand. Currently, my church is building a new edifice that'll seat over 5000 people. Right now, we're in a building that'll only seat 1000 or so. As a result, the pastor preaches 5 different sermons at 5 different times. We have plasma screen displays. Projectors that show news and information on video screens. And, an audio system that is wired to broadcast throughout the building. My church is on at least 2 radio stations, and airs its Sunday morning services on local cable stations. It has full and part time staff running a daycare, elementary school, bookstore, and other small businesses, all within the church. And, the church serves the local community providing over 100 different ministries to meet people's needs, including drug and alcohol ministries, sex addiction ministries, missionary work, and even an AVIATION MINISTRY! The pastor does not get paid. Rather, he works and gets his money through love offerings from members of the congregation. On average, I'd say my church takes in 100,000 or more every Sunday. That money has helped many people in many capacities. It's a joy for me to pay my tithes. I can't wait to give more. Why? The truth is, ever since I started going there, my faith has increased exponentially. I've seen God prosper me in ways I'd never imagined. And, here's the wonderful part. He's just getting started!

So, in my opinion, the scripture was meant to ensure the needs of people were met. Churches like mine are well oiled machines. As long as we don't forget the spirit and intent behind the scripture, I don't see our current position as an issue.

i honestly do not see how any1 can take the bible word for word and belive it was all inspired by god, the bible was put together by a group of powerful men put together who took dif scriptures from dif times n said this was all insppired by god. how do they know?? the werent even alive wen most if not all where written. and since they put it together im guessin they where all inspired by god 2 to know wat ones to be put in the bookk called the bible. wat an angel came to 1 n said oh go 20 miles east then 5 miles north n u will get to a town go tot he biggest house there n the owner is inspired by god n knows which ones to put in n he knows where the next guy is that know the nxt few books n so on n yous can all gather around a big table n put them all together n yous wil get it all perfect cause this is wat god wants, lol come on im not sayin that people shudnt take the bibles morals take its wat watever the hell u want to but i jus dont see how people cant see the book for wat it is
