ive actually have worked at tons of shelters... and its not really true that bums have a lack of drive.... one example is this one homeless person i met who had a doctorate in some form of communications from Northwestern U and he just met a TON of unfortunate events.... i agree that there are ALOT of cases where bums have a lack of drive.... but society looks down on u and doesnt help u... so many get stuck in that circumstance... u forget to note in depth that wen ur a bum u wont look appealing to an employer at all.... so u will ONLY get shit jobs that will only allow u to pay for the shittiest circumstances, and wont allow u to progress.... yes u could POSSIBLY meet ur basic needs scrubbin floors and shit, but u cant move forward, u will be stuck in that position.... im only describin the unfortunate cases tho

like, that Northwestern U alum will prolly NEVER have the opportunity to reach the potential of his education because WHO is gonna hire him??? wen there are gonna be tons of others as or lesser qualified who seem to be more stable.....

if u dont have a family that supports u in hard times, and some drastic economic event occurs to u... u could very easily never recover from rock bottom.... (which is exactly wat happened to many of these people... many homeless people either have dead parents, parents that have disowned them, or parents who cant afford to help them out) in many cases, the dying of the parents is wat causes a person to become economically depressed....

i admit there are alot of cases where bums have no lack of drive, altho many are like this after MANY attemps of trying and finally deciding its worthless, but u just cant generalize that at all.... ive seen too many counter circumstances to just say "bums are lazy and dont give a fuck, its their fault"
