-the us funded the base of the so called (evil muslim) groups in the cold war to fight the soviets...then when the "EVIL MUSLIMS" broke the backs of the soviets, the americans FUCKED them over royally and broke the promise they made to help rebuild the country and increase living standards. The americans used them, then fucked them in the ass.
-Prior to this the western world takes the most wholy land from them, and says they should just live with it.
-Then the "GREAT WESTERN WORLD" decides to occupy their countries for pretty much no reason BESIDES OIL!!!!!!!!!!!
The culmination of these three (and other) things caused poverty and lowered education through out most parts of the middle east. This made it easy for extremists to sway the uneducated for a cause that has nothing to do with the religion of islam.

Islam used to be about enlightenment through art,music,and philosophy, it was ruined by dictators who put strict infringements on basic rights.
