Please, don't talk about a team like you know wtf is up with them. Jags D was garbage first half yes, but second half they stepped up. And even on that last drive they played good. Big Ben just played even better. That 3rd down to Hines Ward, 2 dudes were taking him down and he threw off his back. Can't stop that, Big Ben just played real good when it counted. Then Jags OL didn't let Garrard even have a chance in last drive.

Also, rofl @ you expecting their draft picks to be good overnight. rofl you fucking kidding me? There's a learning curve from college to the NFL. Don't expect two rookie DL to become stars overnight. If anything it'd be late in the season when they start grooving.

and as for WR, Matt Jones has emerged as a clutch possesion receiver. and mike Walker stepped up as a playmaker. He made some big time catches lat night. 5 or 6 catches for 110 yds. and don't even bullshit with Fred Taylor and MJD. If you have no OL protecting you ain't doing shit. when they HAVE got space, they proved they special. As both have had good games when OL could perform. It starts with OL.

don't just blindly talk on the team.

same shit with Colts. You can't call the Colts wack or faded. They got like 2-3 people missing from OL. Peyton getting sacked like a mofo cuz of it. then Bob Sanders out. When they're healthy they'll be back. and same with Jags. I'm not worried. 11 more games to go.

lol @ blindy, i use to love the jags, back in the day been following for awhile, what happen to that o line was fuck up most of all collier, wont be able to walk again, thats sad shit.but no shit its o line you dont have to tell me that, look what happen to ap last night, they dont have a great anything this yr. even with a healthy o line i dont see them making much noise, i think they can go to the playoffs no doubt, but i'm talking superbowl. its not gonna happen any time soon.

Ranked
23rd with points scored
26th in terms of yardage on offense
23rd in passing yrds
19th in rushing yrds

17th in terms of points allowed
21st in total yrds allowed
26th in passing yrds allowed, so it really wasnt a suprise to see ben pass all over them, though he made some great plays under crazy pressure it wasnt a suprise
and 15th with rushing yrds allowed

thats a big steaming pot of mediocrity

J. Luth 10-07-08 01:31 PM

^ok, but what are those stats based off? The games the Jags have played without an OLine. and games without their safety, corner backs out, and linebackers. Jags haven't really been healthy in any of these games. The CLOSEST they've been to healthy was the Colts game. and they lost Mathis and Nelson to injuries near end.

I can bust out countless stats of the Patriots offense but that means absolutely nothing because Tom Brady is gone. And yes, when you're missing 3 of your starting OL that is almost as big as losing your QB. Because it not only damages your run game, but leaves the QB open to get hit. They put out a stat in sundays game that showed Garrard was the FOURTH most hit QB in the NFL this yr.

So I don't see why you're breaking out stats for a unhealthy team. =/

Don't make fucking excuses, and injuries aren't excuses, just win.

No joke, in the CFL the Roughriders have over 20 players on their roster injured, every starting receiver but one and 3 of the 2nd string receivers, their running back is out, members of their o and d line, linebackers, dbs, and we're on our 3-4th QB this year. Still first in the league. They had the MVP of the league last year go to a different team and we lost all our players in the first 4 weeks. The only 1st string receiver that's left isn't even an all star, he's a rookie, they lost every big name and still pull it off. Grey Cup champs last year, first in the league this year, it doesn't even make sense how they are winning with players that have never even played a game before, but they make it work.

rofl you're comparing the CFL to the NFL? lmao great comparison. Even in that comparison you ever stop and think maybe they got talent in those other positions? You can't turn caterpillars into butterflies with a snap of finger. Get real..

and no, did I ever say blame the losses to injuries. Please show me where I said the Jags lost only because of injuries. I'm saying don't compare the Jags BEFORE injuries to now. It's obviously not the same team. The predictions for the HEALTHY jaguars shouldn't be held true for the current jaguars.

You're an idiot if you think differently. Obviously, teams can still play with the reserved, but they aren't the same team before the injuries.

Seriously, stop bringing up unrelated points and focus all your energy on buying an eclipse that you love so much.

Any league or sport that is played with teams could have been used as comparison. I wasn't saying that the CFL and NFL are alike in any way, I was just using that league because it deals with the same types of players and similar injuries. I'll use NHL for you, how bad did the Penguins do without Crosby? They didn't do bad, they did just fine, the other players stepped it up and the predictions for them were just as good, Crosby comes back and they still don't win the cup. Did you ever think that the Jags just aren't that good, like really, when is the last time they've even made it past the first round of the playoffs?

^rofl. try last yr? They were the first team EVER to beat Pitt home TWICE in the same season.

oh, and not to mention making the AFC championship in 96 in only their SECOND yr in the league. Then of course the 99 AFC championship. For a team that's only been in the league 13 yrs, they're well off.

And back to last yr. Impressive win IN pitt. Then they lost to Pats. Looking fucking strong doing it too. Garrard went toe to toe with Brady. TD-TD-TD-TD. Was how they went. until 3rd quarter when Northcutt dropped a wide open pass straight to him in the endzone on 3rd down, and jags had to kick FG. followed by a Brady TD. Nothing to be ashamed of. they went 18-1 and lost to a dope Giants team.

and so what about crosby? Sure he has an impact but one player in hockey doesn't have the same impact as an offensive line or QB in the NFL.

Maybe try taking a NHL team's 3 best defensive players. Then see how they fare.

Me n Neal Hughes played high school football together. yeayer. Go Riders. Also, sidenote - in all this injury talk of the jags, did anyone mention Pittsburgh was playin their 3rd string hb? With 2 startin OL down as well? And finally... did anyone check that new Kardinal Offishall album? It's illy.

^yea, I mentioned that in your thread. That's what I said. Jags deserved to lose from how they played on Sunday. Pitt's back-ups stepped up. Jag's didn't. I mean, but I ain't even worried bout pass rush yet. It's Derrick Harvey and Quentin Groves 5th NFL game ever. they have already showed a lot of pontential as of yet. So I'm not worried, with time they'll emerge as beasts to compliment John Henderson. word
