Kirk 12-07-08 04:19 AM

You know you're poor when you complain about 4 dollars a month being too much.

WhoAmI 12-07-08 07:11 AM

maybe its the principle of actually having to pay, as opposed to being financially unable to pay....clear difference....

Kirk 12-07-08 09:17 AM

Either way, 4 dollars is a reasonable price for what Live offers.

King Solo 12-07-08 06:44 PM

ROFL.

If you can't afford 4 dollars a month, you must be living on the street.

1. Live charges you to use your own internet connection to play against other people.

Explain how that makes any sense what so ever.

2. Especially considering games like Resistance 2, Killzone 2, Warhawk, and Socom all have Dedicated Servers.

Xbox 360's flagship title, Gears of War 2?, doesn't have one single dedicated server.

3. Let me put this in even more laments terms:

Paying 50$ a year for Live when PSN is available, is like paying 50$ a year for air, when ...free air is available.

Sure 50$ is cheap as hell, but do you really want to pay for something you don't have to pay for?

I know. Cause like, multiplayer is all Live offers. [/sarcasm]

Here's what I want you to do:

1. Don't use [/sarcasm], that got old 2 years ago.

2. Make a list of things Live has, that PSN doesn't.

3. Explain to me why that very small list, is worth 50$ when all anybody wants to do is be able to PLAY GAMES ONLINE.

actually both of you need to relax.. the answer to this is very simple, the reason Xbox is charging is not because you fuckers have free internet and it's pointless.

It's because THEY have to have internet to host you, it's called "Clients"

So they are running a Live Server for you fuckwads to play on and it's costing them money, and instead of hosting the server free like a good company should (Sony does even though they don't you know... Own an entire version of the internet,) they are charging you money to make even more money from you.

And that's why Xbox fails in this field.

Neither of you would have come to that conclusion without me. So sorry for butting in, but that's the facts of it...

Sony > Microsoft with free server use.

Actually, Sony only runs a dedicated server for the Sony made games. All the others are run by either the game company or a third party. But I see what you're saying. That doesn't nessecarily mean that thats why they're charging people for Xbox Live though.

Game company and third party are the same thing.

And yes it's what Xbox Live is charging people for. Afterall, they did buy rights to a majority of the games they are hosting on their server, and other than that, there's a very small amount of third party servers hosting their games on the Live server, meaning that Microsoft either made the games, has rights to the games, or an outer company is hosting their game (The last occasion is very rare)

And naturally, Sony is following the course it should. Remember the game Myth for the computer made by an ancient, un-purchased by Microsoft 'Bungie'? Because it was ran on the Bungie server (main party) and Bungie was purchased by Microsoft, thus closing off the Myth series, the main party server was switched to a third party, and people TO THIS DAY, play Myth against each other online.

Therefore Sony's methods are not only more compatible to people than Microsoft, but, they are able to transfer from third party company to Person hosted servers thus they can continue as long as the game is out.

The microsoft server will only continue as long as Microsoft wants it.

So again, with the point you've made, Sony is outdoing Microsoft, unless Microsoft wants to keep up a war based on their own flaws.

You misunderstood. When I said third party, I meant a dedicated server hosting company.

But anyway, by the way you're arguing, it's clear that you balance Microsoft's checkbook and handle their funds. So, I can't really argue with you, bud.

P.S. - Myth is dope.
