the diagonal measurement would be bigger than the measurement "across the bottom". therefore, if it WAS 50" across the bottom, the diagonal measurement would be higher than 50". thats just simple elementary school geometry.

That would the case, Hydro, if screens weren't concealed in cases. You start at the screen and finish with the screen, you do not measure the cases.

Look below, you see that wide open space between where you'd see the TV and the buttons? All that black? That's the case, you skip that, you don't measure that. Generally what I'm saying is with most models, you will have a smaller screen than what it measures side to side.

Although... Measuring it diagonal allows for a broader stretch.

It's measured diagonally to give an idea of the dimensions of the projection, not to say you have a Very Large TV.

...i could easily post up a pic of my tv,which i've had since 2006.i've taken dozens of pics of my son and the tv just happened to be in the pics.however,it is much more fun to taunt you lol....
