^ Horud actually raised a bttyer point then you. Now shut the fuck up and go battle in frontlines, chump ..

Feeble Minded 02-04-04 07:02 PM

lmao .. yes, horud had a good point, i didn't read it because it just looked like a beef post until cam said somethin . .

varentao 02-04-04 07:02 PM

You know it's not the best way to progress to constantly look back at the 'good ol' days' and compare them to the present. Sometimes, but not as much as it happens on here (not aimed at anyone in particular, but more so a general thing).

Must let it take it's natural progression. Up and down. Though i guess this is natural progression for RB (as well as other places). This is the mentality that naturally came with it's 'downfall'...in accordance with it's changing 'enviroment', 'inhabitants' n what not else.

But yes i agree. It is not up to it's past standards.

T West 02-04-04 07:02 PM

Horud Skys...maybe not here...but there are guys who start off battling over the internet and then make it outside the PC doing audio...anybody who lives around the Rhode Island area has probably heard of a cat named Stryke...he started out on the net and he's doin big things. Don't discourage those who do audio mainly because they suck...just like you, many of them are also just having fun and passing the time.

to tell the truth...haven't heard anybody here who would make it outside of the net except for a guy in the song forum by the name of "White Owl Bundy". The rest of you simply do not have the required voice that is needed to survive in the big picture. If there are anymore...then tell me and i'll judge that myself.

@Feeble Minded- Yes you can compare the two...just not to a high degree of comparison. Audio involves many of the things text does...they are just hidden beneath the artist's voice and their music. Structure, word play, flow, etc... are all incorporated into audio. They are used to help the artist come with a better delivery.

Text is based on what you can express by simply showing words...audio on the other hand is expressed by the tone of your voice and what you say. Is either better than the other? no. Why? Because both are like everything else. They have talent, lots of it, and will always have talent.

if we're talking about the same kind of wordplay, then no it cannot be incorporated into audio while being understood. please give me an example of what kind of wordplay you mean. on second thought dont, i really am not in the mood to type anymore ...

Quotient 02-04-04 07:31 PM

i agree..

rb has little to no talent these days. i drop trash. i'll be the first to admit i haven't tried on RB since like 2002. but ehh.. it's ok. i don't take this site seriously.. like a lot of you.

Aisle Phive 02-04-04 07:32 PM

I don't take the net serious, period.

Thrust 02-04-04 07:35 PM

^alls been said

..................
^period.

PrestaH 02-04-04 07:37 PM

LMFAO@all these textcee's who only do text because they don't have the equipment..

T West 02-04-04 07:40 PM

Here's one...Source is from "8 Mile"

B-Rabbit vs Lotto
"Here's my motto, fuck lotto
I'll get the 7 digits from your mom for a dollar tomorrow"

Notice how his opponents name is "lotto" and he plays off that with reference to "Lotto Super 7" Which consists of 7 numbers, and I guess where he is, cost $1... Noticable in text, and noticable in audio.

B-Rabbit vs (guy who makes him choke)
"rip da rabbit head off, toss it to hugh heffnar
cuz i dont play boi, now tell me who fresher

Notice how he plays off B-Rabbits (eminem's) name by using it with the playboy diss since playboy consists of "playboy bunnies".

Maybe not as much as text...But wordplay is incorporated into audio. It just requires that you have to listen to notice it. Just like in text, you have to look carefully to notice it.

Feeble Minded 02-04-04 08:02 PM

yes as i thought you had a different idea of wordplay than i had. audio and text have their similarities and differences. oh and to the kid that said " LMFAO@all these textcee's who only do text because they don't have the equipment.."

... lmfao at all these people who buy the shit and figure out how to work it just to do audio on rb ... see it works both ways

T West 02-04-04 08:06 PM

But feeble...I guess your opinion on wordplay is different from mine because you are elite in your field...which is text battling. Now what I would like to ask of you, is that may you explain the wordplay you are referring to. Perhaps post an example. Would be greatly appreciated.

Koalatee 02-04-04 08:06 PM

^ Good call as pertaining to just about everybody except Prestah. . I haven't seen him post on RB in excess of six months, and he's making a few moves in life, if I am correctly informed.

Thrust 02-04-04 08:07 PM

^wow... how very true

B-Kast 02-04-04 08:54 PM

RB's gone gay now...

Mental God 02-04-04 08:57 PM

^thn leave, whos forcing you to post here?
we wont miss you

trust me

B-Kast 02-04-04 09:05 PM

i am jsut saying that its has taken a dip.

Its not about "leaving", what kind of faggot says im leaving a website, exactly like you said no one cares so why do it.
Its obvious people who say they're leaving are jsut trying to get compliments and praise, why bother i haven't posted for a few months cause i got better shit to do.
But i still check up on how its going sometimes, when im bored.

Accelerate 02-04-04 09:08 PM

You can't make steps to help out the future, if you keep living in the past.
I don't take the net serious, but I'll admit that I have begun writing in a way I couldn't have thought. I can care less about How the next man cares about his net, I see it as another way to write, and get your ideas out to people. We're talking to people from different parts of the world and getting critique and giving critique. Thats how I see it, I do this for the kicks, I can careless if the next man's life revolves around this. We're all posting here, so we should just make the best of it or leave. And talent-wise, everybody starts somewhere, we have a new wave of people here and everyone is progressing, so yeah, maybe it has declined from past days but doesn't mean everyone should shit on everyone else.

Penskills 02-04-04 09:09 PM

Good place to kill time...and read and hear some talent...

If that weren't true, then there would be 90 thousand successful rappers and only a handful of textcees... lol

Wrong. Again, Chingy.

Fuck man, you don't need shit to be successful.

Being good is a different story.

Feeble Minded 02-04-04 10:37 PM

I agree with the successful / good comment.
Umm, wordplay in text battling usually refers to splitting up a word into two different words as one example. There are many different forms i suppose, basically just manipulating words is wordplay in text at least.

one example from UPN:
Opponents, someone and Cal

i dont remember the exact line but cal's opponent split up the word "calender" to make
"im the cal ender" . theres one example.

i really dont care to get into an argument about which is harder and the similarities and differences. im tired of typing tonight though i usually welcome it as something to do.

The first 3 pages were of people saying how wack they are...have some self confidence...you arent that bad

Audio is harder than text, this point has been established!!

And for someone who said that you cant catch wordplay in audio..
LISTEN TO WHAT THEY SAY...NOT THE BEAT
Chino XL is a perfect example...dope wordplay/metas...and you can catch them if you listen to him

If your punch can only be text based such as

Syntax Mastery 02-05-04 02:16 AM

lmao@some of these posts...

hip hop music is infact MUSIC... not fuckin "textcees" who think

"im so ill when i grab a soda (POP..omfg...wow) and run across the street it takes you a minute to see me im the dopest ever in a teepee im intense/
when i smart myself over and piss (PEZ) my jockeys you cant stop me im hopping on monotony and punching you through a fence/"

is two bars....

the most oxymoronic statement i've ever seen is "text freestyle"....get the fuck outta here....

as far as audio goes... you got everyone remixing a song with there lyrics... for some mixtape no one cares about...and everyone else using someone elses style to spit (i.e. diplomats, fabulous, random famous NYC emcee), shit is fuck sad... yall to lazy to make up your own shit...

im tired of this generation of hip hop as a whole pretty much.

G. Buttersworth 02-05-04 02:30 AM

text.. when i first bumped heads with, was cool.. for the fact, it helps elevate your writing skills.

thats why i dabbled in it.. for a month or so. but thats it.

Phoeniix 02-05-04 02:32 AM

butterswoth you newbie. dont ever put my screen name in your post again!!

DªÖ 02-05-04 02:42 AM

why do kids act as if theres actuall talent to be heard on the net?
i mean like netceeing is something to be proud of?

Syntax Mastery 02-05-04 04:41 AM

^probably because there is talent to be heard online, your ignorant if you refuse to accept that... its just that a majority of emcees online suck...
