Racism is still prevalent. Point blank. However its beginning to seep over into new forms that most people dont recognize. If you look at recent thinkings it has changed to the point that racism almost exists against the white male. If you look at the reperations issue it would boil down to higher tax rates for the middle class and high class which is composed greatly of white people. This is another problem.... black people on average dont bring in as much income as a white person. Its the same thing when comparing men to women. Its a standard that is engrained in society's "norms". Too combat this educational institutions and businesses implemented affirmative action. Although this has led to greater discrimination in cases as more qualified applicants are turned away due to not being a minority....

In closing... saying anything about racism in America today is going to end at a moot point as all races are discriminated against in their own ways.

OMG LET ME EXPLAIN SOMETHING TO U PEOPLE WHO THINK THEIR SHOULD BE A WHITE HISTORY MONTH!....Ok their is a black history month cuz as one of the big minorities in north america they have contributed ALOT to America...egxample:Black people invented the helicopter,kitchen table,typewriter,refrigerator,cell phone and among alot more things the toilet and cure for glucoma. Now they also fought in wars and did pretty much everything whites did and all they get is a fuckin month!Now there is no WHite history month cuz the REST OF THE FUCKIN YEAR IS WHITE HISTORY MONTH! everything u learn in school in geography or history or science is mostly about white people all year round, and the blacks only get one month!! I really dont see how u can complain about that. Whites get 11 months, Blacks get 1 month...hhhhhmmmm i think its obvious who got it better. And for those who said there is things as the Puerto Rican parade and other minority events is egxatcly that...beacuse they are minorities!!! Whites own the country they dont need a parade or anything like that thats why thers never been a white civil leader for whites.....CUZ THEY WERE NEVER OPRRESSED IN AMERICA, and if some were it was by other whites.
Now for those who say " u were never opressed that was long ago" Thats a dumb thing to say cuz only 30-40 years ago blacks were being attacked and their churches burned and jus knowing that your parents and grandparents and all your ancestors were beaten and slaves and fucked up is enuff to make u feel jus like them allmost.

The reason Martin Luther King is important is cuz no matter what colour or race if u were opressed u can relate to what he said, its jus by chance that in americas case the opressed ones were black, I mean if thers hispanics or asians or arabs or even whites opressed n some other part of the world they could relate to eveything he said.Second he gave his life for freedom and equal rights for all and what he belived in jus like Malcom X. Thers a reason his " I have a dream " speach is regarderd as the most important speech of last hundred years allmost. it was herd by the whole world.

So when u sacrifice your life for your people or your belif then start talkin shit.( well u cant ud be dead but u get the point)

@Chrit: Very true...that's all I've been trying to get them to understand. Unfortunately...they're willing to accept the fact that women/blacks/etc are discriminated against...and I'm left trying to get it into their heads that white's are greatly discriminated against also. This makes it look like I'm saying white's are the only people discriminated against...when this is not the case.
