Mim, you needa double click on the volume icon bottom right hand corner of screen. This'll bring up the volume control panel as I'm sure ya know. Then go to options or preferences can't remember, and under advanced or one of the options you can choose recording preferences. Just make sure microphone is selected as opposed to stereo or CD input as the recording source. And pump up the volume

Magic5 10-26-05 03:29 PM

I really have no idea what you're talking about. I'll get back at you when I get home, so I can see if I can figure it out.

Vaskez 10-26-05 05:51 PM

yeah well I was on my work comp which uses Linux so I couldn't give ya proper instructions

Magic5 10-26-05 05:57 PM

Yeah, I don't really know what to do.. as my I don't know the name of this sweet ass computer mic.

Vaskez 10-26-05 06:38 PM

well here's what I was getting at:

get the volume control open Start->programs->acccessories->entertainment->volume control

or double click on speaker icon on task bar

then go to options->properties->adjust volume for recording. Select Mic and pump up the volume. That's just one thing it could be. Cos by default I think it selects the CD or Stereo Mixer as the recording source

Magic5 10-26-05 06:59 PM

I just did that and.. the volume on the microphone is already maxed out.

Magic5 10-26-05 07:00 PM

Here, I'll screenshot what I get when I try to record and maybe you'll have a better idea as to what my problem is..

Magic5 10-26-05 07:04 PM

And that's what it's like no matter how loud I make my voice.. if I tap the end of my sweet computer mic, no amount of volume changes thoses bars. They just stay like that.. unless I put a beat into Cool Edit Pro as well. When I insert a beat, the microphe just like, records the beat because when I play it back I can hear the static that comes with my mic.

That's all I know.
