Rowling is a piece of shit and her writing doesn't deserve the money it's accumulated.

L.E 07-30-07 01:24 PM

Awesome book.

I hated the 19 years after thing though.

i dunno wat book uve been reading... i think ur just one of those people who hate something because its so popular....

her use of plot, twists, foreshadowing, and the way elements from all 7 books connect with each other (such as menioning how the 2 safest places to keep something is hogwarts and gringotts, and the fact that that quote both foreshadowed the location of the sorcerers stone in book 1 but also the location of horcruxes in book 7) is more that worth the price of buying a copy....

J. Luth 07-30-07 03:16 PM

i know soc agrees with me, but in a weird way (from 5th movie) that Bellatrix Estrange, in a weird way, I'd :hump: the living shit out of her. ~_~

Her writing isn't worth billions of dollars. To be honest, I find it long and extremely boring. The fact that she's one of the richest people in the world off the series, where she also sucked out as much cash as possible, just sickens me. You take an author like Philip K Dick who had to eat fuckin' dog food to survive, and wrote 12 novels in a year just so he could play the bills. Read anything by him and tell me it's not better than Harry Potter. I mean, you can call it as enjoyable as you want, the fact is you probably only picked it up because it was popular and other people told you about it. Actually look into some really good writers like Kerouac, Burroughs, Hunter S, Murakami, than you'll see art that should be recognized.

/why the fuck would I hate something because of it's popularity? Grow the fuck up.

smokedout05 07-30-07 07:28 PM

Just because someone had things rough doesn't make their books any better than hers.

p4ntzistheish 07-30-07 07:38 PM

Reddy Bull has a point. The books are obscenely wrong for no reason. I stopped in the middle of the 5th cuz I got 5 chapters in and nothing was fucking happening.

I think you guys are not even on the same page.

Termuto is talking about story telling...

And Red Bull is talking about actual writing skill.

J.K Rowling is a great storyteller. A master of the English language? Far from it.

Exactly.

It's almost like mainstream vs. underground, yes the true skill resides in the latter, but the former is more popular for it's own reasons.
