I have no problem with white rappers, and there were tons of them in the closet. YES, Eminem set them free, and made it alright and possible to even be looked at as a white rapper. Before that they was clownin y’all with that “I’m kinda fly to be a white guy” song. If you are tight then you tight, I don’t care. But there is one thing that gets me heated. People with no respect for the culture. A lot of white dudes, dip into this culture take what they want, all the while disrespecting everything it’s about…expression. See that’s why a lot of white folks can’t dance, or make it in rap. Cause rather than coming from the soul, y’all come from the brain. You’ve made names to the certain components of a good rap (ie multi’s, punches, personals). You have 1-2 step guides on dances. So you put something together, and it sucks, it’s because it has no soul. You’re just going through the motions. “If it feels good then it is good”-Miles Davis
Why do you think everybody is feeling Missy, and other low lyrical artists, cause their shit feels good, and is fun to sing and dance to. WHY DO YOU THINK GANGSTER RAP IS STILL HERE? It will be here as long as we have gangsters. You can’t relate because you don’t get down like that, but it’s cool, just don’t hate on something you don’t know about. You think niggaz out here killin each other cause they tuff…huh you don’t know the half….

Hip-Hop, was formed through poor black culture, through Graffiti, Rapping, Dancing, DJing. Now throughout the years hip-hop has grown into incredible heights. You see it in every thing, from commercials to clothes, to TV shows. But the roots are in the poor ghetto…the people who created this expression... to take their minds off of daily oppression. It’s disrespect to take from that culture and not give anything back, and it actually makes US feel that you clownin us. We set trends, styles, slang, not cause we want to, it’s our culture, it’s because the result of other things. For example: People walk around with their pants saggin. Do you think one day somebody was like “hey I think it’ll be cool to wear my pants like this”. No, that shit came from niggas getting’ locked up, and whoever’s been locked up before, knows they take your shoestrings and belts. So yeah your pant’s sag. Or maybe you couldn’t afford to buy a belt, maybe you have to share your pant’s with your older brother. Maybe his extra large t-shirt is baggy on you.
So you see, so when we see white guy “acting black”, it’s like a slap in the face to us. Here we are struggling with prejudice, doing illegal shit to survive; and here you come mocking us, and not doing it right. It fuckin burns me up, that a white person would forsake his privileges, his opportunities to act like something he’s not. But they don’t, and that’s my problem. They do their thing, until moms shows up, cause they don’t approve of him acting “foolish”.
This is not a game, or something to just pass the time for a lot of us on here. I think everybody should rap if their serious, man I like this site. A lot of these text cat’s need to open their eyes.

I mean how would a Jewish person feel, if you came in rockin’ a yamica, talking about havin a barmitzfa tonight at the crib, and they ain’t even Jewish!

this is mad late but i just saw this. man this sums up my feelings exactly and i just had to let it be known. yall need to print this out and tape it to your computer screen and read this shit everytime u go online to write a text poem about bein a thug.

and word about the clothing man. your first day in jail all the cool lookin little styles that kids try to mock all make sense.

if its the same old sob story of a ghetto life, then why is eminem treated so different? think about that.

and no, im not straight outta the burbs. in terms of livin conditions, my country was a shit hole, even if it was white people in it.

MR. LEGEND 08-27-03 02:39 PM

It really doesn't matter what color you are, if you have been raised that way. I'm talking about cats who come in here for FUN, and think it's funny and cool to be a thug and shit. I know two white boys that grew up with us from elementry school, real gangstaz (one of'em can't keep his ass out of jail). They talk act and walk like us, because they were raised with us. We called each other niggas, and it never bothered any of us cause they were one of us. They was raised like that, their slang was genuine, well placed. Not forced and out of context, like the wangstas on here.

"I'll bust a cap on top of your ass"-wannabe

You know who I'm talkin about, them Malibu Most wanted dudes. Who was raised in the burbs, taught to talk proper. But when the come on here it's like yo yo yo yo.

You know'em, they get in your face, and instead of saying their normal "what's up bro", they gotta come with the "yo yo [moving arms], wassssup homie" like we don't see right through that shit.

Eminem does wonders with words, but they don't reach the soul, that special feeling you get when your favorite song comes on. That one you can relate to the most, and you keep rewinding it. He's cool in my book, I never heard of the other dudes.

2hot2handle 08-27-03 09:53 PM

the thing is that hip hop is getting too hollywood. they should keep it street. emnem is getting so much good shit because he is actually a white rapper who is good. and he has been protested cause hes a white guy in the industry. i mean a lot of rappers rap about the same things he does and they havent been protested but eminem has cause hes white. rap is a skill not a color. and im getting sick of teenieboppers like christina aguilera timberlake britney and all those bitches trying to be hip hop just cause its now famous. they aint rap. those bitches destroyin the industry.the thing is white rappers are cool like bubba and em but not shit like vanilla. treat all rappers the same. rap is skill and comes from the street. dont get it too famous like it is already.

2hot2handle 08-27-03 09:55 PM

no one really understands hip hop. just that its a music. they dont know where it has come from

MuhThugga 08-27-03 11:12 PM

Eminem is not a white rapper who is actually good..... he is trash

I've already named but a few white rappers that are much better than him and actually can write a song about something decent.

He just gets shit because he has blown up......and brings up trash artists with him.....

wogzta 08-28-03 03:32 AM

^ until u can 8 albums that all beat his 8, dont call him trash..... no other white rapper can touch him in skill, and wtf is something decent in your book? he raps about what he thinks and what he feels. Sure, it isnt always nice and happy and suitable for kids, but id rather have a physchotic rapper than a fake one

X Ecution 08-28-03 12:44 PM

this has been a very tired topic all u people arguin....hes a white rapper who has skill but hes not the best ,....DONE

fo'trill 08-28-03 04:25 PM

i jsut get tired of people calling me "em" or saying "he's the next eminem" and then i battle in school and cats are like "uh oh 8 mile". I'M PUERTO RICAN!!!!

*counts, 1,2,3,4,5,6,* (excluding mixtapes)

Aisle Phive 08-28-03 11:57 PM

LMAO at this thread, why does everybody at RB think that if they have a good battle record or have been writing they are as good as eminem or somethin, plz stfu. slug is just trash so dont compare him to eminem. eminem wouldnt have made it if he wasnt so different in terms of rap style, but you cant deny talent, im not a huge em fan, but i do like his shit, as for all the underground rappers who some of you think are better than em, none compete at all, everybody get off eminems balls whether you like him or not, yall dont even kno the guy, quit tryin to deny his talent, he is in the top 5 greatest emcees with pac at number 1...

yea^^

MultiVersEal 08-29-03 04:59 AM

the only white ppl that can say they are gangsta is white ppl that grew up in the slums. now a white kid who goes to east bmore from the suburbs and thinks hes black is gonna get his ass kicked

wogzta 08-29-03 11:39 PM

^ and eminem did grow up in the slums...so there u go....and yes he did have 8 albums

3. The Slim Shady EP
4. The Slim Shady LP
5. The Marshall Mathers LP
6. Devil's Night (D12)
7. The Eminem Show
