Like i said before in this thread. There's too many styles to say who is the greatest coz there all good at there own things. Like willibob said "nas is a great storyteller". But on the other hand eminem is the greatest commercially so there's no way we can say who is the greatest. It's a matter of opinion at the end of the day.

i agree with whoever said that once you get to a certain level of mceeing it's all about personal preference. However, i do think that nas is the shit. he's an intellectual 'thug' in a bunch of fucking illiterate homos. look at his shit he doesn't drop forever and then boom!! two #1 videos and a kick ass cd. if there were more dudes like nas in the mainstream maybe i'd listen to the radio. and maybe, just maybe idiots that think they listen to hip hop ie. fans of ja rule, nelly etc. would fucking die. because their opinions aren't worth a fuck

Yeah Dezyir, just cos someone is commercial doesnt mean shit, if theyre good rappers, than theyre good rappers... when nelly drops a stupid song(s) where he drops a bunch of cheap punchlines and shouts "ohhhh!" in the background thats on a totally different level to eminem's complex and meaningful lyrics... i agree stupid songs like "my name is" and "without me" suck but if u dont lyk those (which includes me) just go download one of his more hardcore songs from his album, he has plenty.. on the other hand, if anyone finds a hardocre, raw, or lyrically genius nelly song, plz give me the link

you will never be the greatest living with albulms like nastradamus and songs like i can...illmatic is the greatest albulm by a living and active cd but hes too inconsitant to be called the greatest living....

^Nastradamus is better than every mainstream album dropped so far this year (RTJ, The Owners excluded) the only album that comes close is Freeway's album, besides the positive outway the negative, Nas only made one actually poor album (Nastradamus) but No one has made an album equal to Illmatic and Stillmatic I.W.W. and at times even I Am are better then what almost every mainstream rapper has made (I.W.W was better then Reasonable Doubt so Jay is included) and also I Can was a played commercial song, it never should have been a single but Colombia doesnt give a fuck about Nas, listen to God's Son and u'll hear plenty of more deserving tracks (Mastermind, Book Of Rhymes, Warrior Song, Revolutionary Warfare) Nas in my mind is still the greatest breathing, 1luv.
