Another Reasonable Doubt in 2003 wouldv'e been dud. Just remember it did come out in '96..Times have changed

^ yeah... i didnt really expect to be as good anyway, RD was a classic and its hard to beat a classic

Baron Mynd 11-24-03 10:01 PM

RD was a classic IN ITS DAY - note those words - in its day it was a classic, since then a lots changed, Jay's whole style has changing, your aims in life have changed .. it happens.. its hiphop, if he put out the same stuff each time no one would want to listen, so be thankful it ISNT a second RD .. thats how i look at it ..

Accelerate 11-24-03 10:23 PM

^exactly my point. You could still compare RD with cd's of today(That would be easy to most mainstream albums) It's considered classic, but most artists are coming of age, so if the Black Album turned out to be another Reasonable Doubt it would've been bad, trust me. Be glad the Black Album is The Black Album.

he bit the title from the 1991 metallica album, which was a play on the white album by the beatles.

^ Truth!

Tracks 1-4 were so-so, the rest of the album was fire (for a mainstream record.) Easily a 4 mic performance (not quite 5 mics, but then again I didn't think Blueprint was either) and a helluva way to go out (Hint to Jay:Stay retired.) He'll most definitely win a few pieces of hardware for this album, and it's definitely worth the 12 bucks (8 if you copped it from the barbershop like me. Bootleggers are my friends.)
