first off ur lookin at the mainstream shit that all of us hate and dont consider the real hip hop..... most of us like the more lyrical shit with better production like kanye west and shit.... and every music genre is the same....... all the Mainstream sucks.... mainstream rock sucks, mainstream rap sucks, although there are a few dope ones there that everyone recognizes are good and sell out..... but in a world where Simple Plan and Good Charlotte rule along with Chingy and Ja Rule, how are we gonna be able to tell which owns which???

and btw..... the ONLY reason i respect rock is the playing ur own music part... because most rock songs have less words in a whole song than one verse of a Talib song, and not as dope lyrically as his shit..... and even than rock has gotten less and less about actual skill, most talent ive heard sucks nowadays, especially the drummers.... while lyrics by artists are gettin better and better (atleast for the ones i listen to), and the production now is really making songs better....

download some stuff by the roots...illl ass lyrics and they play their own instruments...

ohh and also....... im with Schema, i love hip hop, but its not my lifestyle... Hip hop is no longer a lifestyle i dont think..... its absolute stupidity to clasify music with a lifestyle.... i like putting my thoughts to paper and sayin them over a beat.... that doesnt mean i have to go taggin all the walls i see and use all my empty pizza boxes for breakin...... and like i sed in the other hiding rap thread..... everyone who knows me i think knows i rap..... and its funny, cuz i get hated on by everyone except the people who are also rappin and makin music.... i get more respect from rockers who are in bands than i do from some of my better friends who listen to rap and shit but dont rap...... everytime im spittin a line to myself or listenin to some rap music i always hear "Dude, you know ur white right?" and all that bullshit... the one thing i love doin tho is wen someone who really hates on me tells me to juss rap somethin for em.... sometimes i like to spit some Jay-Z or Nas shit as my own(or whoever one of their fav artists are) and see wat they say.... cuz usually there like "STOP! ur horrible" and im juss like "i thought u sed u likes Jay-Z"....... they get owned so badly wen that happens..... or sumtimes ill switch it around and say a couple of my lines to someone, but say i heard it on a new Eminem single and theyre always like "damn that was dope" and shit just gets mad funny for me sumtimes...... i stopped doin that awhile ago..... but i had some fun doin that to people...
