this topic got me thinkin... coudlnt fit all i wanted to say in 1500 words so read both posts
a word is what you make it... some people say that word still to be racist, some people say it to eachother as on just a friendly whim. its all how its put in context, when i say it im not being racist. because if i was i wouldn't be exhaulting black people in my sig and practicing something they made up. and i doubt theres more than just a handful of racist of blacks on this site. so i think with in this new day of age of white people that like rap music it shouldn't be cosidered such a racist word. if i was slave owner and said it, but if im like eminem and am basically trying to be black. it shouldn't be concidered racist..... example. people on this site could read a verse on here that someone wrote and it could have the N word in it all over the place and they wouldn't care because its not being racist, but if later they find out a white person wrote that verse they would then find it racist... when you look at who's saying the word and take it out of context your the one being racist! because your not letting someone do something because of their race. |

im using eminem as a symbol of the white people on this site. b/c thats what alot of them would like to be. ok look at how unracist eminem is. look what he does, he's a rapper and hangs out with black people all day. i dont see how "with his backround" if he started sayin the N word in his songs that it would make him a racist. and i know there would be an uproar if eminem started saying the N word in his songs. but him like alot of white kids today have never looked at black people the way a slave owner had and dont feel that when they say it it should be put into the same context as if a slave owner had just said it. you have to always put things in context. an example of putting things into context. say i white person says the N word and a black guy says he's racist. is the white person always the one being racist? i dont think so... somtimes... like if he was being racist and trying to put a black person down, but if he's just saying it in like a normal conversation, like yo what up ****. its not being racist in that first situation its makes sence for the black person to get mad and beat the hell out of the white kid. but in the second situation, if the back person were to beat the hell out of the kid i would see him as the racist in the situation. saying who can and can't say the N word is the same as saying what part of the bus somene can sit or what drinking fountain they can drink from. is it going to take a white rosa parks before black people see they can be just as racist about the N word? thesis: keep the N word in context and dont flip out when the N word isn't used to put someone down. |

the people in here that are the most correct are Ultimate Spy and Doomsday...their opposing thoughts but they both got the correct idea far as I'm concerned, they're the 2 people that have their eyes open the widest in here...
my agreeance with Doomsday is on all that stuff about how racism and "slavery" is still present today but my question is, why are we stuck dwelling on the PAST form of slavery instead of being blindened to the CURRENT state of slavery?...we should all know by now that public housing and welfare was made to keep black people in one area so the poor could be here and the "rif raf" could be in one area then the other people wouldn't be "disruopted" by the little "niggers" or whatever...we know this but do NOTHING about it...but my question is, why don't we as black people do something about it?...black people will be in the 'hood for generation upon eneration and they only see rap or sports as a way to get out of Heaven, when you get throat cancer from smoking weed or blow out your knee you got no brains to use to get up out the 'hood cuz you smoked it all away or your ass thought you wre so smart and got caught selling some shit to ANOTHER black person in your 'hood...why kids in the 'hood got on Roca Wear and Jordans but they parents and grandparents been in the 'hood for aGes?...why do black people value material things so much instead of tryina get out of the 'hood that they complain so much about?...stop being contradictory and then maybe people will see blacks differently if we quit selling ourselves so damn short... and I hate when people say because I didn't grow up in the 'hood I'm an "Uncle Tom" cuz I haven't gone through the same shit, cuz I've never smoked weed and don't know any drug dealers and make it a point NOT to do so...just because you grow up with some of the better things in life doesn't mean you've sold out or are an "oreo" like dude said about Collin Powell farther up in the thread...we, as black people, need to re-examine ourselves...Ultimate Spy is right, we buy into the same stereotypes we hate white people assuming that we are...the 1st thing we have to do is realiZe that yes our ancestors were slaves but we don't have to be any more...we're not physically slaves but we still have that slave mentality and that's never gonna change unless OUR generation sees this and stops the cycle from repeating itself again... i didn't know that, but see how thats takin out of context. eminem isn't a racist so postin that he said the N word all over a magizine and makin it a big deal doesn't make sense to me.
