And it is ignorant and narrow minded to hate on a whole culture and rap genre cause its a different accent to your own.

Daubs 11-05-05 06:50 PM

Cause dick heads make these stupid threads which cause beef themselves and then you got people like trini always startin shit.

Indeph 11-05-05 06:52 PM

Well I'm sure chronix made the thread for a heated debate. But trini is just a complete idiot shake. Just ignore dude. He hates everything. And loves everything that normal people hate. Just pretend he's cartman off southpark.

props to UK artists and LL, but......... Kanye and Alchemist and Dre r better than any UK producers i've ever heard, and Nas, Kanye, Prodigy, Mos Def, Common, not to mention the man in my sig, r definitely dope lyricists....... how could u even think about sayin the US doesn't have dope lyricists..... shit, i'm a perfect example..... there r some cats on here that could son me in a battle, but i can teach u something about urself and the me and my world from my point of view...... sorta like US rappers can feel UK rappers and visa-versa..... this whole argument iz pointless, since we're all doin it for self-expression and to further our craft........ check out the poem in my sig, called all i have..... it's not new, but it's dope, and tell me that some US cats don't get deep w/ their shit.....

I get the strange feeling that you made that post to get more replies in your open mic :nono:

Daubs 11-05-05 08:24 PM

That strange feelings what us people call common sense.

La Cosa Nostra 11-05-05 08:27 PM

Look..

I think the UK accent can sometimes put a spin on the way their music sounds.. But their shit isnt better than american hip hop... No country I have heard so far has reached that level yet simply because americans have:
A) Been growing up around hip hop for much longer
B) Have an accent more suited to rap music

Hell I aint even gonna front, a lot of the time I simply cant stand aussie hip hop cause, even though theres cats out there that have talent, they just dont match up when you put them on an international scale.

This is a big reason why I prefer to listen and learn from american rappers over other aussie rap artists, because my style is now something that can match up to american artists. I have adopted a way of molding my voice to sound and make good use of my australian accent, but flow with the same style underground cats in america use.

You have to understand that the larger market is always gonna be in America and in order to rise up you obviously need to intergrate even slightly so that your music can appeal to the larger audiences aswell, even if you never make it big over there.. It will still be a welcome innovation no matter where you go.....

Essentually I never copy anyone... I'm only more realistic in my approach..

But music will always be subjective and people will always become defencive when in arguments over which culture produces better music. My advice to everyone is to drop the bullshit and think of hip hop as just a form of music rather than some big competition over whose better. Apreciate things for what they are.
