Live and let live. If you don't wanna believe in God then don't. If you do then do it. If you wanna be Christian be Christian. You wanna be Muslim be Muslim. You wanna rape lil girls and kill people do it. Call me pessimistic, negative, sick in the head. You live, you die, you make no differance. And even if you make a differance in the world you make no differance in the Universe. And if you make a differance in the Universe (hypothetically considering it's possible) so fucking what? What did you do, make the Universe better or worse for the billions of other people who mean nothing to the billions of other people. Fuck charity. People die, people are poor, it's sad. Stop dwelling on it, and go out and do something with your fucking life. Mehh, i'm too pissed off to even make a decent arguemant with what i'm trying to say. Wtvvvvvvvv

JTR 04-02-07 05:19 PM

Fuck it, give money to charity if you want. It's a nice thing to do. I just get too mad and lose my head and get confused. I mean that right there was my opinion but it's not my opinion. Hard to explain. The world is just too confusing, and trying to solve the problems of the world are only gonna make them harder to solve. Ya im just gonna stop typing im going nowhere with this. Go on with your pathetic arguemants and trying to prove people wrong but ultimately doing nothing. Go on...

oh yeah, also bear in mind, people don't like to look like they've been tricked. to the point that they'll continue to lie to themselves to believe something false is true, JUST to avoid their own selfinduced guilt and shame of suscribing to being tricked.

ive learned a lot since my confirmation teacher screamed and cursed at me man. i couldn't believe someone could come to tears over open ended questions that don't attack them what so ever. but in reality in my search for information, highlighting all these inconsistencies that confused me, i was spreading apart huse gulfs in my teacher's own beliefs. she was borderline on a breakdown and shared with me that her "be-lie-fs" are what tricked her into being happy after she was raped by an uncle as a child. she liked to believe that there was some cosmic justice out there for the persons that wronged her and that they didn't just get away with it, and it really appeased her to believe it. religion is a victims disease. something to help them find comfort in powerlessness.

so, i stopped piercing her with those painful javelins called questions and seeked information my self. by gaining knowledge and coming to painful i'm-not-a-victim realizations i armed my self with true power and became the god that your "god" says i am.

its cool your trying to help him find the truth, but dude
was basically asking how to prove the christian faith wrong...

Tha .Q 04-02-07 05:26 PM

^^^^Mormonism is a cult...and Catholicism is close to being a cult...

But, God says "I will share my glory with no other." So, this notion of calling people anything other than the sinners we are is silly.

Is there anyone here who actually knows the bible? I'm not talking about what you heard...Im talking about what you've read, studied, meditated on, cross-referenced, and experienced?

I'm amped for a discussion.

Oh okay...that explains it then...I wasn't sure if he was asking for clarity on the bible or the notion of a "higher power"...

So, he's beckoning the right people for help then.

Exactly, you wonder why religions have extremists (not YOU, just “you” as in a general person) it's because people need religion to be happy and live their life. So anything that tries to discredit their religion is taken as a personal attack to their humanity. That's why people who strongly believe in religion get so damn touchy about it when you ask them questions. They need faith to feel like they actually have a purpose in life. They need it for a lot of different reasons. When you can learn to be independent and not have to rely on anything but your own self to make you happy and positive, that’s when you stop living a lie, that’s when everything becomes clearer, and that’s when you become a stronger person. I believe you can still do this and have faith in religion, but if your faith is all you depend on, and you’re tricking yourself into believing it can’t possibly be wrong and have flaws, you’re never going to be free.

God didn't say that. Man wrote that God said that with the possibility of it potentially being true. Now proove that God said that, and I will kneel and pray.

i completely agree. just because you say its right doesn't mean it's right.

and there are somethings that are inaleiable. if you believe in a dichotomy, in that one thing opposes another, you're aleady fooled. to see one side, you only see half the story.

informaton is power, and power has no bias. the person who wields it, does.

Neither do I...Jesus had the best approach to witnessing to people...He wasn't weak...But, he only spoke to people who either:

A) Were willing to receive his teachings
B) People he warned

In either case, he did approach sincere people with love. But, the difference is, his teaching was based on the truth of the word, and not man-made doctrine.

I don't have to prove anything. Whether or not I or you believe in something doesn't detract from the fact it's true.

However, when I say, "God said..." I'm speaking from contextual evidence that God displays certain patterns and characteristics of his Personality. And, all throughout scripture, that's one common theme, that he is a Jealous God and will not tolerate Idolatry nor pride.

And, of course God didn't write that. A man did. God inspired him. God was too busy creating universes and saving souls. He leaves the "lil stuff" to us. We are the extension of his eyes, ears, hands, and feet. We are called to do God's work. But, there's more to this than what I'm giving you. You need milk. I'm trying to get you all to the point of being able to digest meat.
