I would think the more active it is, the more cash he makes from it. That's just common sense in business. So yeah, he probably sitting in his basement like "oh fuck, shit's getting dead." Then again, he prolly got like 50+ aliases that he posts as to pump up the activity.

Nah, if he was losing money on this site he'd shut it down or sell it. The fact it's still running suggests he's either not losing any money, or he's losing such an insignificant amount that the time it'd take to shut the site down is worth more than the money he's losing.
