...If you knew your football you'd know that we're not in a playoff stage its a group stage...3 games are played, the top 2 teams from each group then go to the knockout stages where only 1 game is played per round (last 16, quarters, semis then final + 3rd place playoff (1 match only and winner determined by extra time and penalties if need be).... There is no "tie" system in the knockout stages of the World Cup...only in the qualifying stages for the actual world cup...and they're played over 2 legs (again the winner is determined by the same methods as previous IF need be after the 2nd leg).
