Once you realise the basis of the equation. You realise he wasn't a genius. And he wasn't the greatest speaker of all time. His 'style' just fitted in with the times. And even then, he at times stumbled through.

If he was a genius. Or 'the greatest speaker of all time'. He'd most probably never have come into power. Or at least not had the effect he had.
