Obviously if you're starting a fight, you dont give a fuck about the consequences. The only consequence would be maybe getting hit back.

With this new rule, if you start a fight and they abide by the rules and dont fight back, you can beat the shit out of them and they wont hurt you.

But if they do fight back, its no problem because they get in the same shit as you do for starting the fight.

................................ Basically theyve made the school environment more suitable for fights. Well done, whatever school that is...

do u have research to back dat up?

also, how many fights per year would a school have to have in order to be called a "safe" school...or a school with not "alot" of fights?

there's a school here in the DC called Thurgood Marshall that expels anyone who engages in what remotely resembles a fight

lasty year...u cud count the number of fights on 1 hand.

for the entire year.

and in the paper when parents were asked why they sent their children to that school, the #1 answer was, "It's safe"

yet...up the street, u have a high school called Ballou which had 2 shooting deaths in the hallways, and about 100 fights...students stealing then spilling mercury...

and when I say up the street...I mean literally, less than a mile.

Hell, I got in a fight near the end of school and got nothing but a 'go play volleyball' in gym, and I did. It was justified; he kept hitting me in the head with a volleyball when he was playing with a friend, which he said was on accident, so I just charged him.

Yeah... I live 15 minutes away where 12 people died from a shooting... It's called Columbine...

But most of all I agree with you... If a fight can be avoided, avoid it. But if not you should at least be able to defend yourself.

What kind of back up?

I deal with kids everyday, and the ones that start all the fights really dont give a shit about what happens. I was just sayin that giving the victims the same punishment for defending themselves is a good thing for the fight-starters, and a bad thing for the victims.

Theres always gonna be times when nice kids just snap and hit someone, but usually they get off easy cos they were provoked or something.

Dude, I don't know why Harry Potter is so stupid. If there is a quick way to do practically anything with a flick of a stick and a few words, I'd spend every day studying shit? Got the hiccups? Need to kill a rat? Get the spells mixed up? No problem.
