Quote:
The problem is that many people diversify by race, and the minute people start adding limitations to characteristics then all Hell breaks loose. Black music is probably the stupidest thing I have ever heard. Hip-Hop is for everyone. Mos Def says it best: We are Hip-Hop. Me, You, Everybody. The very instant you bring in a characteristic as a limiting factor, that is when the whole group is brought down. Who gives a shit about race really? I mean, we have whites in Hip-Hop: Eyedea, Slug, Aesop Rock, El-P. We have blacks in Hip-Hop: Talib, Mos Def, KRS. Hip-Hop also has albinos, Hispanics, oriental descent, and even people from France and Switzerland are into Hip-Hop. So to just say that Hip-Hop is Black Music and everyone else are nothing but followers and must adhere to certain rules set by the blacks is blatantly retarded and even more blatantly racist. Wake up and realize that Hip-Hop is bigger than the flesh. It is all about expressing emotion. Hip-Hop is people music, and quite frankly, anyone that wants to participate in it is more than welcome to. I don't care. If they are good at what they do, then by all means let them do it. Quote:
I'm white. I don't like Eminem. I think that what he said was extremely racist and went beyond the borders of anger towards an ex-girlfriend. So again, you make a generalized, stereotypic assumption that the face beyond the posts in favor of Eminem are white, and those against him are black. Open up your eyes. Stop screaming racism when in fact, you are expressing racism yourself. Whites are not the only racists in this world, and I have been discriminated against many times by blacks in my life. My two best friends are black and live in an all black community, and I remember vividly how I used to be called a cracker and white trash whenever I went to go play ball with them as a kid. So whites aren't the only ones that are racist. I'm getting so sick and tired of this fucking white/black barrier/war that has been going on for the past 500 years. We all need to wake up, realize that everyone is a human being, and no physical appearance should limit anyone in ability or participation. Do you realize that now they have college scholarships strictly for blacks? Some that are strictly for Hispanics? Programs that are strictly for gays? Organizations that hold a purpose strictly for women? These organizations are out for the betterment of a certain group, and even though they may hold a cause that is well-intended, what about the people they discriminate against? The women's organization portrays men as evil, they give rfuge to battered housewives. What about the men who get battered by the wives? What organization do they go to for help? Nothing is designed for them; specifically for them at least. We spend so much time attacking the hatred of the different that we don't realize we are only isolating them more and creating more barriers with programs designed strictly for a certain group. Let's strive for the common good......not just one function of society. |
agreed ^ except...
to be a part of hip hop, u gotta be part of the culture...meaning, that your probably gotta come from the streets. but yeah, i think we should all be cool with any race...our life would be alot better even for ourselves if we saw that everyone no matter what race was bein cool to each other, like u get along and everyones cool. some gay people who try to be street and badass discriminate and eliminate, and think they cool or badass. but no matter how badass u are, all our lifes are better if we just was cool wit each other and try to fix shit up. |

You going in circles and running right into what I'm saying. You just got finished qouting Mos Def who in that same album who says hip-hop is 'rock-n-roll for the black people" and You might be big on the Rolling Stones but they ain't come up with that shit on they own" and "there they (whites) go tryna steal our soul, then turn around and try to call it they own". Acually he says everything on that album that I said in my post so you just helped my point by qouting a man who tell white pople to "GET YO PUNK ASS UP!!" So abviously you wasn't liseting to BLACK ON BOTH SIDES hard enough..LoL.... AND PLUS you just did EXACTLY what I said you was gonna do, you gave this whole we are the worldd speech about how hip-hop has expanded. Hip-hop is BLACK MUSIC becasue we CREATED it. Microsoft is always gonna be Bill Gates shit..yhea it's have expanded and oteher pople are in it but that always gonna be HIS jump-off, everybody eles is just working for HIM.... A baby can be born from it's mother, grow up and have a life of it's own, but it will always be that mothers child..... Quote:
I didn't say that whites where everybody is racist agaist everybody, I'm not saying black ain't racist too, you was the minority in you nieghborhodd and look how you was treated... so if ANYBODY on this board should understandd I woulda thought you should have enought sence too..being that blacks are the minority in this COUNTRY......You crying about that experince in your communtiy when a Black Man has to go though that same ridicule multiplied by the rest of the country!?..now you tryna act brand new?!?....and if you do have black freinds do you call them nigga!?!? Quote:
Yes and they trying to take those away too, becasue too many of us are getting to college. You talking to a product of those scholarships, brah...and the same people who gave me the scholorship put me on so I can be the "token black guy" in they program..now it's too many tokens so they reniged the game.... So lets see who qouted from one of the most pro-black albums of all time "Black on Both sides" to souport your point, You claim to have been rediculed and mstreated in a minority setting, the same thing blacks have been for years as a minority in the whole country. So why are you arguing with me if you agree with me!?!? LoL.... |
Oh, so here is where the thread is.
Well as said before. This is racist. Even if he said it in anger/hate towards someone he broke up with. There's some 'truth' in it for sure. When something like this is said, there usually is. Would have to know and analyse the situation more in depth to come out with a more substantial psychological theory or whatever. But remember, just cos he said some racist things then. Doesn't necessarily mean he was a full blooded racist. And doesn't mean he's a racist at all now. Then again, maybe he is. You know, being ironic (in a different way) with his blonde hair n all that. Oh well... |
Oxford Dictionary:
Racism 1. To hold a belief that one race is surperior to another 2. To express violent and hateful views on another race. 3. To discriminate and limit a person by his or her race. Eminem has never done any of these besides on that track from 1993 - where indeed, he does make very racist remarks, and I listen to Eminem, and I'm not afraid to say that. But haven't you heard of "saying things you don't mean"? Anyone who says that they haven't said something they don't mean out of youth or anger, whether it be racist or not, is a FUCKING LIAR. Anyone who says that they've never possessed racist thoughts or even expressed them, is a FUCKING LIAR. I can say that one time when I was cut off by an Asian driver, I thought to myself "that bloody Asian". I regretted this immediately, and was stunned at myself. But I've learnt from that just as Eminem has with this situation - he's never recorded a racist word after that. "Let's do that math, if I was black I would've sold half" - how the fuck is that racist? He's saying that if he was black he wouldn't have as big a fanbase since if he's white, more white kids listen. And there are more white kids that buy rap albums than black kids. So that statement is simply the truth. "I'll drink malt liquor to fuck you up quicker than you'd wanna fuck me up for sayin' the word nigga" - this is not racist. If he said nigga, everyone would be on his back trying to rip him a new asshole. As they are doing now with black comments. What he said, in general has come true. Once again, he's speaking the truth. Not to mention the fact that he doesn't actually say "nigga". He cuts it out - that's the whole fucking point of the bar. Racism is an act of hate towards to another race. I do not deny Eminem did this - he did - in 1993. He said somethin' he obviously didn't mean, and his prediction came true - he knew if he ever said anything about black people he would be hated on. As you can see, you played right into his hands. I knew all you "White boys can't rap, white rappers are trying to be black, hip hop is a black game" would love to see more excuses to hate on a successful white rapper. Aesop Rock, Copywrite, Cage (who says "nigga"), Necro etc. could've just as easily said something like this, but why aren't you attacking them? Because they aren't successful, therefore you already think that they've been exacted a fitting punishment - not much success in the rap game. I don't see anyone attacking Jin for being a Chinese rapper, even though he uses the same "self-racially degradory" manner of comedy and expression Eminem does, only he says it about Asians not whites. And yes, I am white. I do enjoy Eminem's music very much. But he isn't even my favourite rapper, and I did NOT start listening to hip-hop when he came along. I recognise and respect it as a black art form, and it will always remain a black art form. But that's not to say that only black people can practise it - that would be stupid. If the world worked on "what blacks are allowed to do" or "what whites are allowed to do", no one would have racial justice beyond the stereotypes that were associated with them all through their existence. Hip-hop is universal; it is about expressing your emotions, making good music, and bringing joy to fans. Not about how your colour influences on what you can and cannot say. True hip-hop fans will respect any music in hip-hop, as long as it's good. And everyone who thinks about human nature will realize that we are all the same; and we all make mistakes in our youth and during anger. The only way to move on is to forgive and forget, before any real damage is done. And Eminem has not caused any damage at all. I thought most people would be able to realise that. |
word...but uhhh......this topic is played now......weve all moved on to how the king of pop pops in childrens asses

^ I dont care if its played, my opinion deserves to be heard by all :P... jkz

Let me clear somthing up, when I said hip-hop is black music I didn't say becasue of that whites can't participate at all, or they are not ALLOWED to. I said if you dope wit it do your thang regardless, shit Emenim WAS one of my favorite emcees, I think he has one of the best flows in the HISTORY of the game, no joke. SHit I'm in the studio working on song for my album right now and I got a white producer on some of my tracks, its a white cat I'm coo wit in my class, he likes his Def-Jux and Atmostphere, I like my Jay-Z and Ludacris., but we cool though talk, debate, he put me up on stuff, I put him up on stuff. But he's not trying to be something he's not. He's not a 'wigger', He don't wear no Sean John and Rocawear, he be waering Gap and Amstimber & Fitch (SP?) He'll tell you stright up in a jokingly matter, "Man, I listen to white boy rap shit". But we respect each other becuase at the end of the day it's still all hip-hop, and he respects the game, he understand why he can't go around saying "nigga, whats up"..just cuz he's thinks he's hip-hop or "down". And you give an example of other whites rappers, the only one stupid enough to say nigga was Necro, and I seen an interview the other day where he's crying about how black poeple don't buy his music.....hmmm Necro wonder why....I can go and find the link to were Aseop Rock says the EXACT thing I been trying to say all this time in less words. He siad "The Afrocentricity of hip-hop is always gonna be there becasue it was created by black people". I'm not saying whites, chinese, native american, mexican whoever can't be in it, just know you are an outsider. |
This has to be the fastest growing thread ever..9 pages in about 23hours..l0l
