ok if your looking for tables just to practice with i would recomend, some cheap gemini belt-drive tables and some cheap generic mixer. but thats just to practice with to see if you like it. [try this first] better yet go find a friend or go to a music store and play arround with there stuff.[/try this first] if you like it then i recommend uppgrading to some stantons or better yet some numark 1200's <<recommened....with the numarks you could play parties and use for gigs and whatnot. basically dj'ing is expensive....a gemini belt-drive table is about $70 so .....70 + 70 + 80(mixer)=$220
if you want to play parties/gigs to make money 300 + 300 + 300(pioneer mixer)=$900 and you would need a PA system. [b]this set-up is your standard dj set-up if you went to a club you would see the dj with a pair of 1200's and a nice mixer. [i recomend this route if you like dj'ong]i think if you really liked dj'ing you would want somethin in between. somethin along the lines of $500-$600 <<for that much money you could get a pretty good set-up.[/i recommend you take this route if you like dj'ing] now rememeber c-dj's or digital dj's= gay....dont be gay, and cheap c-dj's < cheap turntables....its a fact. now vynil, vynil vynil vynil...vynil can range in prices from $1-$30 (depending on what your getting) |
Links anywhere?
|
what do you want links to?, on-line music stores?
i highly recommend buying offline. but i get links to the products im talkin about |
for you right now i recommend
http://www.zzounds.com/item--STASTR880 and http://www.zzounds.com/item--BEHDX626 this set-up costs around $500, its a decent set-up this is just a starting set-up, but first i highly recomend you trying it out at a friends house or music store |
I have about $300 to spend right now.
|
let me ask you this, do you like dj'ing and want to pursue it more....or do you just want to try it out and play with it now and then?

Try it out and play, no one around here has DJ equipment. If I get good enough, I might want to do a few shows, cuz there aren't a lot of DJ's round here for parties, so the $$$ would be easy to get. |

Does is matter if I buy em Warehouse Resealed?
|

depends if your a rish taker. warehouse resealed could be damaged or have some minor defects or be perfectly fine. but if you buy them new there is not going to be a problem |
get a beginner scratch kit from geminin. they're like 200 bucks. u can buy them online, but it'll be expensive on the shipping. but the beginner kits come wit 2 tables, a mixer, and i believe 2 cartridges. and remember they're beginner, so don't scratch. your needles will break within a day. if u wanna learn to scratch and juggle, jus upgrade to a better turntable and leave the other one chillin. then you'll have a scratch one, and the other one u can use to mix. i started by using one turntable and my computer. i jus play the music from my pc and scratch to it. but i can't mix wit it. all depends on wat u wanna do. a lot of people record they're blends onto pc and jus play it at parties. i've seen it done by pro dj's wit a laptop. a lot funky shit goin on nowadays. and cd dj's are good. u jus can't look and see wat ur doin, but if u can hear the beat u should be able to mix relatively easy. and it's easier to burn ur own music as opposed to buyin new vinyl at 20 a pop.
