.TeamOne. 08-31-08 09:18 PM

I honestly dont understand why anyone would vote for John McCain. I'm looking to find out?

Kirk 08-31-08 09:23 PM

Fuck voting. Just a waste of time.

.TeamOne. 08-31-08 09:34 PM

Why is voting a waste of time? This election we're looking at two very different candidates in my opinion. I would like to have Some control over my future. In fact I worked for Obama this summer so I feel as if I've done something to secure my life. Why is there no reason to vote?

I'm not interested in cutting the heads off of people who generate all of this capital in this country. I can't vote for somebody who doesn't know anything about capitalism. Sorry guys!

the guys who generate all the capital...generate it by taking their companies over-seas and getting people to work for less then americans would. Yeah, they bring in capital. But, no..it's not good for the country. People need jobs in order to continue to put money back into the economy..it's all one big cycle...and a lot of the bigger companies...are skipping an essential part of the cycle. We can have a ton of a capitol..but if people arn't working..the value of our dollar goes way down...so essentially..it doesn't matter if they are generating capital..or not.

Well, essentially it just keeps the money where it's been since forever. It will stay in the hands of people who run those big corporations and not trickle down to people like Mime. The value of the dollar plummets, but since they have all the dollars anyways, I guess it doesnt really matter, right?

uhh...wrong...

if people are working, they make money. If they make money, they spend it. If they spend it, it filters back through the economy. If it filters back through the economy, the value of the dollar goes up...they have all the dollars because instead of employing and then paying americans...keeping the money within out economy...they take business elsehwere..and pay half of what they normally would

Cola 08-31-08 10:49 PM

Vision is correct on the way the system, SHOULD BE working....and TeamOne is stating the facts of what it is that big business is doing

but other than stating the obvious, that big business should be employing American's...because small business obviously drives an econmy (n i state that because i belivie strongly in what Vision has already stated) ...no one has really adressed the point

How can you get them back in the states employin Americans?

N heres a question?

Do you belivie the fuel crisis is actually a blessing in disguise? Truthfully, when you think about what it has done to the econmoic status of America, in what...only a few years? Its like Uncle Sam got dropped kicked in the balls. But, lets just say hypotetically that we find new engery sources, it will also open new jobs...just like when people said that computers would outsource jobs, jobs were also created to fix the cmoputers and build computer systems....

to sum up what i just said, i'd just use a quote from batman 'the night is always darkest before dawn'

Dabatos 09-01-08 08:55 AM

obama! o-ba-ma! o-ba-ma! weeerd

why the fuck would you do that?

Mannie Fresh 09-01-08 02:57 PM

it makes no sense to vote for McCain, im sorry... his first choice of judgment and he picks the most inexperienced woman in the world... she governs in the most corrupt state in the country, she is under investigation for corruption (which she will probably get a pass on even though it IS corrupt), she has no foreign policy experience, no national experience whether it be with legistlation, economy, Nothing... she was a governor for under 2 years, with half of that time being pregnant... not to say that that would fully impede her ability to govern, but its almost a lack of judgment to get pregnant when you're suppose to be running a state, cuz there comes a point where u can hardly walk....
and to top it all off her 17 year old daughter is 5 months pregnant, and many speculate its longer than that, which would mean she was pregnant at 16... obviously her mom didnt Want her having sex, didnt want it to be Unprotected if she did (unless shes that much of a religous kook), and didnt want her having kids this young... how can u be expected to help Lead and run a country when u cant keep your children in check... Oh good old Republican Family Values

she was chosen for 2 reasons, which makes mccain a total sell out: she's young, and she's a woman

too bad her inexperience makes her a poor choice to take over the country if, u know, 73 year old McCain dies... u know the McCain who has/had cancer, and refuses to release his medical file and physicals to the public..
and too bad shes basically against every issue most women agree with: she's pro-life, pro-guns, pro-war, basically pro Everything women are Anti... jesus, im more of a feminist than she is....

and yes, i only ranted on Palin, but McCain can have a few words too: he's a hot head and a grumpy old man.... there are countless times during congress and meetings where he's Exploded when people dont agree with him... doesnt sound like the kind of diplomat i want...

oh and, its great he was a POW and he survived, makes him a hero... too bad he told the people who took him captive Everything... honestly, everyone says ohhh he's an American hero, should be well respected... no hes not, its a sad situtation that he was captured for all that time but when you give them more than ur name and rank u are no longer a Hero.... that doesnt sound like the type of soldier i want, doesnt sound like the type of Commander-in-Chief I want....

Okay, so Palin sucks and McCain is old.

You're right, I too choose my votes on who's vice president I like more. Fuck who's policies I agree with.

If you want to play that game you should also remember that Biden cheated in law school and got kicked out. All of that came out when he ran for president a long ass time ago. So, while Palin is being investigated for being dishonest, it's already been proven that Biden is dishonest.

Luckily, I don't really give two shits about the VP's, so I'm not transferring Biden's downfalls to Obama. I just don't agree with Obama's policies (you know, the guy who's actually running and not the VP), so I'm not voting for him.

All of the capital isn't being brought in from people working overseas. Some is, but not all -- not even most. I agree people need jobs and while unemployment has risen slightly, the natural unemployment rate should be about 5%, and in a couple of months that's where I expect it to go back to. There are plenty of jobs right now, and the unemployment rate isn't high relative to where it has been in the past (25% during The Great Depression, etc.).

I'm not really even talking about the big CEO's and shit, the people ranking in the top 1-2% of the population when it comes to income. I'm talking about your middle to upper-middle class people, mostly. There's way more of them then there are extremely rich people. I can't vote for somebody who, in a capitalistic economy, is going to tax the shit out of people when they start businesses, create jobs, and generate capital, so that it can be transferred down to the low income people (the people who aren't creating jobs and generating capital).

Taxes as a whole are a socialist concept, but drastically raising them is socialist and it's bullshit. Obama may win this election because there's a lot more bottom feeders in this country then are providers, but if the taxes do get raised by a lot you're going to see the people generating capital leaving or jumping through every loophole possible to avoid paying as much taxes as they're supposed to.

I know you know what you're talking about, so I'm hoping you can at least understand why I'm not down to ride with Obama's tax policies. I didn't make this thread to beef with anybody, I just wanted to see if I was the only person here planning to vote for McCain. Right now it's looking like I'm standing alone, so oh well hahaha.

some valid points. but....really, why would Obama tax higher on people who are gerneating revune? if anything he'll tax the corpartions more, not the small end business's. N by taking money and giving it back to the 'bottom feeders' more money will be spend on things, pushing the value of the dollar back up. hopefully lowering costs of things.

i see your points, and i was for Mccain in 2000. So i'm not a Mccain hater, but after he went full blown Republican, he sure did loose his way

Dabatos 09-02-08 05:37 PM
