whats the abosolute best.....help is needed
|
I use audacity 1.3 beta
its pretty good and its free i can give u the site to download it if u need |
yea do that it's appreciated
|
the best audio program is the one you can use the best.
But if you want to be technical, Logic Pro is by far the best audio program, as far as capabilities. It's the program other programs aim to be. |
Quote:
I gotta agree with that. I was looking through a Pro Gear magazine and took a peek at all the new audio software. Logic Pro by far outshined the rest on paper. All the shit that it said you could do with it just blew my mind. |
Lmao the best program is pro tools but u cant get that unless you got the hardware for it.
|
Quote:
the best is pro tools hd these systems start off at 10,000 and go as high as 100,000 ask anyone at sweetwater plus logic only works for macs |
Enyg, word to that!! It's STILL got features that other programs technologically can't even go near!
Locknes, Protools is far from the best program seeing that Pro Tools is a windows-ready watered down knock off of Logic Pro as it's ALWAYS been. Protools "HD" is just the exact same inferior protools software bundled with their hardware. Still the same recording program. please learn what you're really saying and stop passing your biased opinion off as facts. BTW, there's a reason why Logic is NOW only made for macs. There's also a reason Logic is the industry standard. Its the most comprehensive (widest) AND the most in-depth (deepest) audio program ever made hands down. |

i did do my research and i relized this both are great DAWs it usually comes down to a matter of opinion. both have hardware that can create a enviroment were you dont have to use the CPU of your computer, both are nice logic is more aimed toward the musician, pro tools is aimed toward engineers more. Thats why theres always a argument |
well put but it's really not that true lol. Logic has more capability than Pro Tools hands down. Put it this way, the "new features" in Pro Tools are old in Logic. There's nothing you can do in Protools that you can't do in Logic, since Protools always has been a knock off Logic.
but what ever. who cares. peace |

Pro Tools has been around the longest and it used to be THE DAW. it was ONLY for Mac until a few years ago. and to this day it still has the most expandability out of any DAW by a long shot. |
most expandability by virtue of it using just about every VST known to Windows. That's all well and good but even with far fewer features, Protools still dosen't have the depth Logic does and it never has. Here's a perfect case in point
the chorus effect on Logic sounds like multiple voices since it randomizes the pitch automatically (which you can tune) The chorus effect on Protools sounds like reverb. The modes of adjustability on logic's chorus effect blows protools out of the water and that just one instance off the top of my head. Protools is capable of many things don't get me wrong, but I gotta give respect to the one that started it all. Protools was competing with Cakewalk and acid for goodness sakes lamo. Protools is more popular than Logic so people automatically assume that makes it better when it couldn't be further from the truth. and when I say "better" I'm talking quantifiable comparisons, not opinions. |

i dont believe so pro tools inpro tools hd u can have a 8 discrete hybrid preamps it the only program that can allow you to use outboard equipment in real time ive used both programs but to me i consider them to be on the same level also which version of pro tools where u using |
last ProTools I used was LE.
and Protools definitely isnt' the only program that lets you use outboard hardware in real time. uhh lets see there's logic, garage band, audacity, cool edit, cubase, and a whole lot more. |
^^^is Full of shit......nuff sed hahaha
|
^^oh yeah..that's obvious...I'm just making this all up as I go along because none of this ever happened
|
appexx plus pro tools equal equipment to use that interface they have for logic is garbage coompared to the pro tools interfaces
|
pro tools is industry standard..meanin if you wanna get by you gon be needin pt.....that is all....lmao at apex sayin pro tools is garbage lmao....get ur facts str8 bfor you speak...its like sayin cool edit is better than pro tools its like you sayin mp3 is better than .wav files  homie i went to school for this ish and u actin like u know everything hahahahah tha q has always been right bout you lmao hahaha i never believed him till now ha
|
Quote:
yes that is true those hd system will shit on a logic pro program |
word if u got an protools hd system u know you in the game lol
|
oh and the only protools that goes to pc is the m box....digi 002 & the HD systems is only on mac so yea once again get yo facts str8 nuff sed
|
Quote:
no your frogetting the m audio version of pro tools go on pcs |
oh yeah lol forgot bout that one
|
lmao @ assclowns that never talk about music gear in their life saying they went to school for it.
son ask anyone who's been in the business for a few years, Logic Pro, once again, has been and still is the program other programs aim to be. lmao, just look at the baseline - Pro Tools has a max of 32 stereo tracks. Logic has 255 max. To compare the two is...fruitless. You're lucky Future Producers went down or I'd shit all over your face with about 40 threads worth of truth - from real producers! Pro Tools is the best on Windows ever since Logic abandoned em. On a Mac system where BOTH programs compete, there is no contest. Logic wins hands down. LMAO, Logic can't even run on windows man lmao. To break it down for a laymen, it's like games that only come out for Xbox, but not PS2 due to PS2's limitations. Mac coding is more streamlined so naturally they can do more with it. And do. Compare features of ProTools to Logic and PT gets blown out the box man, who doesn't know this??? Quote:
PT's "studio in a can" don't make it better software lmao. |
Quote:
and pro tools you can record in true 48bit while in logic pro you can only do 24 bit and the normal 32 bit float |
Quote:
Sure abotu that? Pro Tools LE is a max 32. But an expansion pack and you can go to 48. HD (which costs 10 grand) is the only one that cn do 192 and I don't know anybody foolish enough to spend 10 grand and still can't get 255 tracks. And lets give PT a round of applause for bing able to record a frequency no devices output in lmao, congrats. The human ear hears no difference in 32 bit sound and anything over it, so who gives a shit? that's liek a flash light that shines in colors you can't see lmao. but don't take my word for it: Quote:
^^yup, so now me, sweet water, and protools are all lying and wrong  It don't even make sense to go on man it's relaly not that important to me to prove what's already known. |
Quote:
your also forgetting pro tools has some of the best equipment and who cares that you can record 255 tracks or 192 if you need more than 100 tracks you prolly overdewing it and u can add 96 more tracks with a interface they have the fact is that pro tools has the best hardware i can list you thousands of things pro tools can do that logic cant do |
logic is mainly a sequencin midi it can be used for recording but there is much more you can do on pro tools....pro tools is hands down far more better than logic nuff sed
|
this is what i did with my nuendo if you want to talk about the amount of tracks
![]() |
here its is appex pic one nuendo
here num two i can do stereo 500 tracks nuendo doing 500tracks on windows |
it's a waste to even go on with this. Now another peogram is entered into the mix, it's gettin flat out stupid.
You want to compare Logic against ProTools LE, Pro ToolsHD, The Hardware that Protools sells with HD, NUendo, and more? ..yeah. like I said man, pointless. if you think its' the best, then it's the best. I ain't gonna argue with you. Soon as you saw that I was saying the same thing sweetwater AND protools them self was saying, the focus of the argument completely changed. right. |
im not gonna say that anyone is right or wrong
i been using pro tools for a little while on pc and a mbox2 and ive come across the problem of running out of tracks that i can hear. we did one track inwhich about 5 people were on it plus a hook and a over dub. so math wise 3 to 4 tracks a verse 3 tracks a hook 1 over dub 5 people so thats 20 tracks for 5 verses 3 tracks for the hook (i loop so its not a deal of making a new track for each hook section, just for those who dont know that) pluse the overdub when i got to about 28 tracks the 28th track went dim and i didnt hear it in the mix i had to switch the mixer on to get it to work. but a guy i know who runs a prominent studio in chicago uses logic and he told me he never has this problem. soooooo i prefer pro tools cause i like pro tools but i hear TONS of good shit about Logic and Garage Band as well I use Pro Tools LE 7..0.1 M BOX 2 GT66 PRE AMP GT66 CONDENSOR MIC etc. |
Cubase Combined with the Tascam FW-1082 is Pimp shit.. thats what i'm working with and i dont have ANY plans to change anytime soon..
