..resp..

Transmogrify 01-02-04 12:05 PM

Cool edit is less professional that acid. It's also easier. With the right plugins it can produce great quality. But I can't master for shit so I can't elaberate

C.Quip 01-03-04 10:00 AM

Acid Is What Most Professionals Use..Then Soundforge To Edit The Wave Duke...

bloodymurder 01-08-04 01:32 AM

Use both sound forge amd acid. edit the music (or get samples) and use these on acid.

buy mp3s and use easy MP3 converter to make it into wav files and you'll get thousands of samples. you can also save vocals if you want

Straie 01-08-04 01:39 AM

lol@acid...........cool edit pro..cool edit pro....cool edit pro..... read a magazine or two.....most pro's USED to use acid until cool edit pro v2 came out.......both are good but learning to use acid effectivly is like stabbing my right eye out wit a rusty spoon, It's jus not something I wanna do....go to kazaa and download cool edit pro full.it should give you everything you need...BELIEVE me , you'll never use acid again

PostMan 01-08-04 11:08 AM

cool edit pro is the worst you can get... its like one step up from sound recorder.. i use to have cep with shit quality..... yes it is easy to use but limited..... i got acid now listen to my quality..... its more versatile which results in a better mix.........

just because cool edit 2 got that gay award dont mean nothing.. NO REAL STUDIO EVEN GETS NEAR CEP.. thats real...... thats like saying Cool edit is better than pro tools because it got an award and pro tools didnt..... LOL.....

i dunno i hate cep.. shit is just annoying......... maybe you should dl it cuz it will be easier but i dont think so.. cuz i started with acid.. and found it easy to learn. just make sure and get sound forge6 ot 7

...OpeY... 01-08-04 11:21 AM

cool edit is inferior. learn how to use Acid and Sound Forge. theyre not that hard to figure out. if ur struggling with it, there are some good Acid Pro and Sound Forge books.

You are a fucking moron, educate youself before you make ignorant comments. Your "shit quality" was probably due to the fact that you didn't know what the fuck you were doing in cool edit. I can make my shure sm58 sound like an AKG C3000 in cool edit, with no problem.

Cool edit offers compression, graphic equalization and numerous filters that allow you to achieve practically ANY sound you desire if you know how to use it.

Cool edit is a lot harder to use than Acid, acid pro is one of the most widely used programs for netcees, know why? Cuz it is soo god damned easy.

...OpeY... 01-09-04 08:58 PM

^ur an idiot

verbal conflict 01-09-04 09:07 PM

^^forreal... cool edit pro, is the worst, but easiest.... even though Acid is tough to use in the beginnin.... but its much better..

PostMan 01-10-04 12:46 AM

lol@that kid calling me an idiot.... cool edit is the most used by netcee's.. im guessing he has neva tried acid.

verbal conflict 01-10-04 01:10 AM

^^i know... dumasses... i have acid, n its kinda like acoustica audio mixer...

...OpeY... 01-10-04 01:49 AM

its kinda like... the best shit out

...besides protools if u got their hardware

urban_tactics 01-10-04 05:02 AM

then teach me sonar hoe...........

...OpeY... 01-10-04 11:56 AM

sonar is not better than acid. It has all the same features. Sonar just has a different graphical interface. It has more of it's features displayed on the screen like protools. This doesnt make it better. The reason Acid is better than Cool Edit is because there are more options and you have more control over the filters. This is not the case with Acid and Sonar. They have the same usability. But Acid has an edge because its directly compatible with Sound Forge and CD Architect. You can't beat that combination of software no matter how you look at it.

urban_tactics 01-10-04 09:44 PM

lol...

ur completely wrong...and i'ma tell u why right now (urb knos what he's talkin about)
i'm in the studio ALL DAY, so errything i spit is the truth...
i used BOTH...acid is a good program, for someone who dont have the funds...but it is NOT better than sonar...sonar is compatible with all pro tools equipment (automation, etc) it has a pre-rendering option that saves RAM, acid does not...i could go ON AND ON...acid is not the best program...maybe for some MC's on the net...but u cant run no studio on no damn ACID, plus its main purpose is for looping...now aint that some shit?

besides, the plug ins make the program anywayz...i use sound forge for cleaning the vocals(gate and compression)

i use acid to timestretch my samples

and i use sonar it all down...

urban_tactics 01-10-04 09:52 PM

lmao@postman nigga

u got 400 dollars?

...OpeY... 01-10-04 10:07 PM

dawg i said unless ur using protools lol. yea when i get some protools equipment i'll use protools. but its only good if your usin protools equipment. i never said acid is better. i said sonar isnt better than acid. they have 2 different purposes. think about it this way... u use sonar and STILL use acid on top of that. I use acid but i never use sonar. btw acid pro 4 does prerender the tracks.

Ajax 0042 01-10-04 10:10 PM

ok one, didnt know this would cause such a hassle, two, Opey.. i have sound forge, ive recorded with a new dynamic mic, n ive got tons of static, how do i, if i can, take that out w/ soundforge????

..resp..

urban_tactics 01-11-04 12:18 AM

@opey

ACID PRE-RENDERS?!?!?

where can i find that option? i musta been slackin....

Ajax 0042 01-11-04 12:19 PM

urban tactics STFU.... n quit free postin damn.

urban_tactics 01-11-04 06:40 PM

LOL...look "little man" all i asked was a question...now go finish your homework...and in ACTUALITY, you're the one that just free-posted...i'm still on the subject "ACID HELP" right??? back to my question.

where is the rendering option on ACID??@opey

Tha Duce 01-11-04 08:24 PM

haha OMG at you all.. Ok serously It does not matter what you use.. ive talked to alot of Producers at diffrent studios in what they thought was the best... they ALL said there is not realy a best there is alot of good programs... Its just what the producer likes to use. Like I have used Pro tools quite a bit and I dont like it as much as Sonar 3 Producer edtion. and Ive used cool edit pro, acid, cakewalk Pro audio 9 and a few other shit.. and I personaly like sonar 3 the best. and each program has there stragths and weaknesses... read some detaild information Like in EQ mag.

so everyone stop bitching...

urban_tactics 01-12-04 02:10 AM

i feel u dawg...acid is very good, if it wasnt i wouldnt have it on my HD...i love sonar too...but i'm getting pro tools soon, so i'll prolly scrap errything and move all my plugs to their new home...pro tools LE

Umm, I have been using acid for about 3 years now

Cool Edit and Acid both have their strong points, but do you honestly believe acid gives you "more control over the filters?" You really don't know how to use Cool Edit Pro if you believe that, bottom line. Acid's filters are extremely limited to say the least. When it comes to assembling your tracks together Acid beats Cool Edit hands down, but Acid can't shake a stick at Cool Edit's filters. I still use Acid, but I clean up all my takes w/ cool edit

I doubt that, everybody and their mom has a copy of one version or another of Acid Pro. All the wannabe rapper cats in my school rock acid, I have never talked to one that has heard of Cool Edit.

BTW, peeped ya audio...not too bad, keep droppin.

Sound it out and read it slow, my sentence structure is not utterly perplexing.

PostMan 01-12-04 11:45 AM

^man...... you HAVE NO idea what your talking about.. EVERY NETCEE USES COOL EDIT.. ASK ANYONE ON THIS SITE WHO DOES AUDIO AND I BET THEY USE COOL EDIT BUT A SELECT FEW.. COOL EDIT WAS MADE FOR PEOPLE WHO DONT KNOW SHIT ABOUT MIXING.....

Tha Duce 01-12-04 02:11 PM

and do you know somthing about mixing postman?

the closest thing to Pro Tools is sonar 3 producer edtion thous take real mixing skill... and yes cool edit and acid... are easyer platforms but they lack alot of fuctionalbity in them just alot of simple things make a huge diffrence.

but Ive heard great tracks come from all of these programs . so when it realy comes down to it. its about the people using them. not the programs..

...OpeY... 01-12-04 02:31 PM

where is alcatrakz when u need him *sigh*

PostMan 01-12-04 03:14 PM

want me to bring people in this thread who produce and have real studios?????

Protools is nothing without the hardware so thats not even a factor.. sonar 3 is nice.. thats what i hear that and cubase sx... i know acid and cool edit may not be as good but i dont give a fuck....... my quality is fine with acid.... i might switch to sonar when i wanna learn that shit. but cool edit sux ass period.

Tha Duce 01-12-04 08:39 PM

wow this is like a debate on the chicken or the egg shit... hella funny

urban_tactics 01-12-04 11:56 PM

i'm sorry...but once u get the terminolgy down...their all the same in my opinon...except that damn LOGIC...the whole learning curve on that just annoys the hell outta me...needless to say i uninstalled it...sonar has almost the same abilities as pro tools...if u compare all the features "software" wise

acid is simple and effective with a good plug in bundle like waves platinum bundle...with those 900 dolla plugs u cant be fucked with...but they take up hella RAM, esp the reverb...thats why the pre-rendering option is critical for me...but i havent found that feature in acid (believe me i searched) only automation, which i really see kinda pointless in mixing...but i can see it's purpose if i was makin a beat...but i use reason 2.5, so that feature isnt useful for me at all...it all falls down on what ur tryin to do...

all i want is prerendering, separate busses, easy access plugins, and some meters...and i'm good.
