LeBron James

Yes Overrated

but dayum...

hez a BEAST

what ya'll think of LeBron...

hez good, see those numbers he puttin up?

i thought he aint gonna be good against the professionals but dayum...

Baron Mynd 12-29-03 05:08 PM

Yeah, he's had a pretty good season, he is overrated as fuck though ..

Chrit 12-29-03 05:10 PM

He's going to be solid as hell...

Give him a few years and he'll be averaging near a triple double a night

Envied Talent 12-29-03 05:11 PM

jea, chrit, are you back yet?

DEL the funkee 12-29-03 05:40 PM

He's already a good player, but what I really respect about him is that he has really kept his composure under all this Hype/pressure to win.

To bad none of the other NBA players are as respectable and idolistic as LeBron.

Dez 12-29-03 06:18 PM

Hes the Micheal Vick of the NBA..he has potential to do something but thusfar has accomplished nothing.

Couldn't of said it better myself.

DEL the funkee 12-29-03 06:21 PM

Yeah but...

averaging 20 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assist in your first season in the nba...and playing on a shitty team like the Cavs is not somwhat of an accomplishment?

Koalatee 12-29-03 06:25 PM

^ Exactly. Night in and night out, I am shocked by the numbers he puts up; last night, for instance: 32 points, 10 rebounds & 9 assists. How can you frown upon that type of a line? There are only a handful of players with the ability to put up those numbers once in awhile, let alone at the frequency that 'bron has done so. He should be proud that he has so many detractors this early in his career - it just goes to show that he's doing his thing.

exactly^^^ peeps shud stop being scepticle of the kid and realize its his 1st season and he's hittin those numbers...dayme..he's hot

Envied Talent 12-29-03 06:44 PM

dont forget, straight outta highschool and hez 18 right?

Mr.Christensen 12-29-03 06:47 PM

While hes good, Carmelo is showing him that college is where you need to go

Carmello is doing much better

and i dont know how to spell his name

Envied Talent 12-29-03 06:49 PM

its one l : Carmelo ;)

DEL the funkee 12-29-03 06:50 PM

From a statistics standpoint, LeBron is definitly having the best season....

but the Nuggets and Cavaliers are not even comparable, Nuggets are a much better team.

Limitz 12-29-03 07:25 PM

i really dont like this dude. now dont get me wrong, he isnt that bad of a player, but he is very VERY over-rated. carmelo is better. lol. but this is bout lebron. the weird thing is, my cousin's fav player is lebron, so we have arguments sometimes over whos better. lol. and thats my opinion

YJ 12-29-03 09:28 PM

Carmelo will smash him!!!!!!!!!
sike naw lemme stop but its tru
Lebron is da new Magic Johnson

Chrit 12-29-03 09:39 PM

Melo is shooting under 40%
Look at the numbers...

Lebron is the better player... all-around

Only reason Melo is putting up better numbers is the fact the Nuggets are focusing their offense on him.

Cavs offense looks to Lebron to contribute as a passer and a scoring threat, not just the latter....

Hence, Lebron is the better player at this point....
...the numbers dont lie

D-Dizzle 12-29-03 09:49 PM

Plus the Cavs got rid of that cancer called Ricky Davis....every since he left LeBron been ballin' like a vet. Melo has the better team and the scorers mentality, LeBron is more all around, and has the edge in physical skills too....

High Class 12-29-03 09:52 PM

Hese not over rated. He will just get better and better over time. Kobe wasnt noticed for like 2 years. Alot of players start off slow and then become great. Just give him time, he will learn from experience. Then no one will hate on him after.
( I think he is doing pretty good now, just cause he isnt perfect or the greatest. That dont give anyone the right to bitch about it )

High Class 12-29-03 09:53 PM

And chrit, you just proved a great point hommie...
Melo aint ganna be big for long. I put money on that...

Limitz 12-29-03 11:47 PM

i know. i was saying. its just that i hate the cavs and i will probably always hate them. my team is tha pacers and not just they are my home-town but because i like the team. now carmelo may not be as good as lebron, but i like carmelo more because, well, i just do. like i said, lebron is a great basketball player. but i dont like him and thats that. lol. (i think i said "i dont like him" 3 times in that paragraph) lol

High Class 12-30-03 04:19 AM

^ We dont care what ' You ' think... okay :) ^

Detrimental 12-30-03 05:34 AM

To whoever said he'll be averaging a triple double a night:

you need to slap yourself

that was just fucking stupid duke... hes a great player, noteably for his young age and court vision. right now he's on a streak, but the streak won't last. hes having a good season, but the key to a GREAT season is consistency

being consistent hes not. hes on a streak at the moment, and consistent. but that doesn't overwrite the questionable games he's had scoring under 6 points and shooting less than 30%

you gotta give the kid time to grow. hes not the amazing rookie that michael jordan or allen iverson were, but he is good. only time will tell if he can turn it Jordan-like and go great

peace

p.s - i agree Carmello is a better player. LeBron possible has more potential, but Anthony is much mroe mature imo. LeBron shoulda went college for a few years and developed more.

DEL the funkee 12-30-03 08:01 AM

PS.

Alot of people have been sleeping on Dwyane Wade...
He's not going to win rookie of the year or whatever.

But the Heat could be a damn good team in a few years:
Lamar Odom,Caron Butler, Dwyane Wade...

and if im not mistaken, he is averaging close to 15 points per game...

Just a thought.

D-Dizzle 12-30-03 11:47 AM

^^Yhea you right, I think he got injured for a couple games though......

But did you see that dunk he did over Lattner about a week ago?! Nasty!

High Class 12-30-03 02:17 PM

I dont know if he is a rookie or not. But I just started to notice him. What do you guys think about that point gaurd for the Wizards? I think he got skillz, and if young... He got mad potential.

Detrimental - I agree with you on that shit. He should have went to colledge to get more experience. Guess money fucks everyones decision making process up pretty bad no a days...

nam_208 12-30-03 02:27 PM

Lebron is ok but how do yall think he rates against Carmello

High Class 12-30-03 02:43 PM

I dont think melo will be good for long, he will go under in a couple of years. That happens to alot of players that start off like him...
But James, alot of the best players right now started off slow and became the best in the league. Kobe is good example, even though I dont like him. He wasnt shit for the first 2 years. Then he shot up. So James will probably get the best of things over time... Thats just going by what usually happends in the NBA...

Did Detroit Make The Right Choice About Their Draft Pick, I Do, I'll Explain Once Someone Disagrees....

inspire 12-30-03 03:27 PM

T-mac is still the best damn player in the NBA.. Now that that's outta the way..

LeBron will never be that good until he gets a running mate..

Jordan & Pippen
Duncan & Robinson
Kobe & Shaq..

Greatness comes in twos..

Secondly he never makes his own plays.. He either needs a pick or does his stuff on a fast break.. LeBron = Poor playmaker

Sure he'll get rookie of the year or whatever.. Just look at Yao Ming starting last year at the All-Star game.. Shaq put it on him after christmas posting up good numbers but just because Yao got 1 rejection.. Yao starts.. plus he's much more marketable than Shaq.. LeBron is more marketable than ANYONE in the NBA right now.. Therefore he is the "best"..

=P

High Class 12-30-03 03:30 PM

^ Yao ming fucked shaq up this season so far ^

Your right about the 2 player thing. I didnt really notice that until you brought it up. Your also right about T-Mac. But it takes a team to win a game. One player in reality aint enough. They dont score all 80 or 95 points in the game. Nice points proven there though...

Soulfire 12-30-03 06:12 PM

Yo shaq aint brigin nothin these days. Kinda embarrasing.

^He never really brought anything. . He's just a big black guy which makes him good.. Have you ever seen a small center? lol . . I mean all this time in the NBA and he still couldn't make a freethrow to save his life. .

Penskills 12-31-03 11:08 AM

..over-rated???...

High Class 12-31-03 12:25 PM

Shaq at preasent is living off his past. He use to be somthing, now he is just another player on the court. And your right, he cant shoot a free throw for shit... LOL

Silverback 12-31-03 02:12 PM

..Since The Thread Is About 'Bron...
...He Is Having The Best Rookie Season So Far Out The Entire Pack. He Is Learning At A Very Accelerated Pace, Rebounded From A Tough Start, Dealing With The Hype, All The While Putting Up Above Average Numers In More Than Just The Score Category, And He Hasn't Begun To Start Reaching Some Of His Potential...
...As For Carmelo...
...He Is An Excellent Scorer, But He Has Very Little Potential In Other Categories. He Has To Become A Good Passer Since Rebounding For Him Is Difficult Because Of His Size, But I Can Be Wrong And He Can Be The Next Iverson...
...Dwane Wade...
...Rookie Of The Year In My Eyes, Why? He Has Helped His Team Win More Then Any Other Rookie Has Helped His. He Brings More Than Just Statistics, He Brings Leadership...
...T-Mac...
...Second Best Player In The League Behind Garnett, IMO...
...Shaq...
...The Lakers Would Be Orlando Without Him, Freethrows Did Not Stop Him From Winning Championships:)...
...Yao...
...Needs To Use His Size More, Be More Aggresive...
...1...

#1 Draft Pick 12-31-03 02:24 PM

beast. Rookie of the Year.

Detrimental 01-01-04 01:19 PM

yo what the hell, lmao

i think thats unfair as fuck what ya'll just said about shaq.. hes one of the most dominant players in the history of the game, i think ya'll are forgetting about those titles that he lead the lakers too

the lakers at the moment have 4 players on their starting lineup that are listed in the 50 greatest players

and yet Shaq is stil putting up the best and most consistant numbers on the team. and of course his numbers have dropped a bit, with such a team game going on the individual weight is going to drop.

Shaq is still good, and he's still a dominant, deserving player. but you're right, his freethrow shooting is piss poor

J-durable 01-01-04 01:58 PM

hes pretty good but nowhere near a great player in da NBA,dat takes tyme he'll get betta as the years go on....like kobe and KG.

bigbully 01-02-04 01:16 PM

hes aight but not as good as they thought
