I have a couple of prodigious burdens on my shoulders on this 19th day of January, 2004. Least importantly (but most time-consuming), is fixing my computer. . I have three viruses, it seems; my Norton Anti-Virus programs have been tampered with, & I need somebody, anybody to help me out in removing the viruses. Otherwise, I am faced with a charge of $69.99! If you know anybody, or happen to be somebody that can help me, please let me know ASAP. Thanks in advance . .

yo, my norton is messed too, it shows a red X in the tray icon and auto-protect has been disabled...i've installed it at least 6-8 times, cleaned registry files etc..

Then clean norton's with it...
Then run norton's

I got norton:(..but mines is okay..to fix norton R.T. you have to right-click it then enable it..and put the parental control on there..that blocks out a whole lot..trust me..and when you want to go someone real quick just disable,then re-enable it again..

Yes, RT. Norton isn't in the tray anymore, and whenever I try to open it through alternative measures, a window flashes across the screen for a split second then disappears. I did an online diagnosis, & it turned up viruses by the names of: 'W32.Xabot.Worm' & 'W32.Spybot.Worm'. . I might be screwed. Is McAfee free?

worm worm..I had that virus..save everything thats on your computer right now..because it's gonna start fuckin up..do it right now man..Im tellin saved everything thats important..because it's gonna make you have to reboot your computer back to when you first took it out the box..Im not joking..save everything..learn from my mistakes..!!!!

I had a worm or two a few days back from an idiot that came here and downloaded shit on kazaa....

McAfee took care of it promptly though

sorry to double post..but about worm..it's unstoppable..it's an internet virus and it cant be deleted..only prevented..my advice..stay off the internet ofr a while..and save your shit on dicks

go to www.download.com and seach for "adaware"

download it, install it, and then get the updates for it, it will kill ANY virus on your computer guarenteed.

o i had that same problem...i jus turned my computer off waited a couple of days and it was fine..then i deleted all the spy ware, adware, and went through a process to remove the virus as described on norton's tech support web site...right now...you're screwed, you can't stop it, jsu turn off the comp and wait i think..i had th w32 hllp handy virus

Adware is programs that run on your comp from third party manufacturers that tracks your bwosing habits and end up sending you shit. In the meantime it kills system resources

Whenever I have viruses I use restore states. It allows me to keep everything that have and it's sets the comuter registy and so-forth to before the virus was downloaded. I'll be back with screenshots and instructions for it.

GO OUT AND BUY SPY SWEEPER!!! IT IS ABOUT $60, AND WORKS GOOD AS HELL. THAT HAS HANDLE EVERY VIRUS IVE EVER HAD... INCLUDING THE WORM ONE.

I think that the problem is directly linked to my firewall/security resources. My firewall has been compromised; a technician told me to uninstall it for now. Until I get all the viruses off, I can't reinstall it. . Will I have to identify the problem FOR this "Adaware" or will it clear everything by itself?

if that doesn't work let me know. there's a site that guides you through deleting items from your registry manually. (necessary in the case of many difficult worms). i have the link at home somewhere.

I was there - they don't work, because there are no alternatives listed for any slip - ups. The virus disabled a lot of the things it tells you to do; for example, I can't access the "Registry" any longer. . I really would like to try System Restore. I'll try yours, Phate .

As you obviously are running a different system then me try searching it. It's possible that it was removed from the start menu or even that it's hidden
