Old School vs New School

Time for the classic debate between old and new shit. You rapper's got any comments bout this?

MuhThugga 01-29-04 05:23 PM

Yeah, trying to differentiate between the artistic integrity of Old School and New School is beyond retarded.

Penskills 01-29-04 06:49 PM

different era..different style...it'll never work..it's like comparing..whore and a slut...

MaRiO 01-29-04 07:35 PM

old skool is better its just the general flow of the music with the words and the lyrics....... pure geneis, take a look at N.W.A or otha old skool rap there words flow with the music

Sick ILL CeLL 01-29-04 07:41 PM

As5a5sIn5 01-29-04 09:41 PM

one of the poll answers should say
"same difference"
then you'd get every1 to poll...

÷Thìñg÷ 01-29-04 09:51 PM

i think some thing in between is right where it should be

Feeble Minded 01-29-04 09:52 PM

its personal preference. Like what you want, no need for poll :)

FairInHeight 01-29-04 11:04 PM

i like the whole era from around 93-98
that's when the best hip-hop was around, cause that's when you started getting different styles, and more serious mc's.

Mr.Christensen 01-29-04 11:18 PM

Name an artist selling now that would be able to have 1/2 his/her current succes when:

Paid in full came out, Big Daddy Kane was at his high, Kool Mo Dee and LL battle was at its top, KRS One was getting some air play...

yea exactly...

Holmes Jr. 01-30-04 01:34 AM

Old Skoo Is Better With Snoop Pac Dre New Skoo Is Bout To Get Popular But Not By Much

madman-doubleSS 01-31-04 06:24 PM

Yo, old school is all about skill an' flow. While now a days, you could suck ass but if you hang around with the right group then you'll sell records.

:) 02-01-04 03:59 PM

i liked the old school better.. i feel like the old school rappers brought more skills to the table

Potent 02-01-04 04:06 PM

new skool cause of the beats

damn potent read the pms i sent you man

Harlem's Finest 02-01-04 04:25 PM

Old school... had the beats.. and the dope flow..
New school.. brings more creativity.. always new styles..

C-Section 02-01-04 04:55 PM

cant really compair them cause rap has elavated since then. from lyrics to beats there has been to much change.

but i would rather listen to my old CDs then anything on the radio.

Edicius 02-01-04 05:01 PM

Nwa, =)..

Oldscool ..for the vibe and iunno its just more 'real' new shit is mostly beat no content, some has content.. most not.

90Milez 02-01-04 05:47 PM

i grew up basically into new school... but recognizin old skool cats such as Rakim, Ice Cube, and Slick Rick... i agree back then they had creativity and flow and it was just PURE hip hop.

new school is like "Follow the leader" if the thang is too sing about being in a club, the whole industry will sing about being in the club... get it? yea

But in the New School, you can still find a good source of music... like the "Hustlin'" bein expressed before a million times but a few new skool niggas will express it in a diffrent term bringin' a diffrent side to things... like JayZ or Nas

But new school dosent seem to have any lyrical presence at all... except 4 a few

tasty shakes 02-01-04 06:31 PM

mostly to me, old skool raps bring back memories, you know like shit you
were wearing, ya slang then, peeps you kicked with that you prolly don't now

SWINGAWAY 02-03-04 12:43 PM

old school and new school are tight
but i gotta pick new

Da_Killa_Kid 02-03-04 02:35 PM

There's no way you can even put them in the same category. The game has evolved way too much to even make an assumption or guess on the subject.
