Lords of the Rings = Best movie ever

If you combined the trilogy it would round off to about 10 hours. I don't think there's much of a rival for this film. It simply blows everything out the water and is pretty much why people watch movies.

DaviD WoRdplay 02-07-04 04:25 AM

some people dont like it b\c of it's length and lack of action... u know ppl nowadays dont like a movie unless someone's either crying... doing something stupid or something blowing up every 3 minutes

Emotion 02-07-04 04:28 AM

yeah movies are to mellow these days but this was fucken mad.........I read book to....lol

wordplay 02-07-04 04:32 AM

all three are dope..just drawn out..real drawn out

ILLunatic 02-07-04 05:01 AM

Honestly...
I never watched it
I thought it was boring..
Just from the damn title of it

Highlight 02-07-04 05:05 AM

The last one had some off parts and too much Hobbit queerery but the films are all impressive and worth watching. This type of shit ain't even my cup of tea but the movies are undeniable.

RythmicTendicies 02-07-04 05:29 AM

It was a dope trilogy...Dunno if it'd be my Best film...into more realistic things, but i seen all 3 of them, and i was glad I did....

Mean't to be doin' a spin-off sorta thing called: "The Hobbit" or something.

inspire 02-07-04 06:38 AM

Great movies....but...I don't know about being the greatest movie?

Freeman 02-07-04 08:57 AM

Indeed...

But ive seen better films... 'The Last Samurai'... Amazing film... Better then LOTR in my opinion...

Pz...

Johnny 6-feet 02-07-04 10:51 AM

hands down the best movie(s) ever. the sheer scale of the thing, the quality of the acting, the fight scenes, the chill out scenes, no contest.

last samurai is owned by any of the three, stfu.

and the hobbit is a PREQUEL, not a spin-off. its pretty clear whos got a sense of culture in this thread.

RythmicTendicies 02-07-04 11:00 AM

^k..k...i didn't know anything about it..just heard they were doin a film called the "hobbit"...^

Accelerate 02-07-04 11:58 AM

^Hobbit is about Bilbo Baggins and how he got the ring, I believe.

Highlight 02-07-04 12:03 PM

I saw the sneek preview that started at like 12:30am .... then it took forever to start so I fell asleep but woke up for the very ending which was dope

~HoTTie~ 02-07-04 03:13 PM

I Seen The First 2....They Were Pretty Good.

Slik Shadow 02-07-04 03:15 PM

^ agreed

On a technical level this movie is something you'll never see again. Plus it's like every genre (except porn) rolled into one film. Return of the King is up for 11 Oscars and I have a feeling they're gonna sweep every category.

dirtyendzone 02-07-04 03:40 PM

The only bashes I have against these movies are these: overusage of score, because there was music playing in like every second of every scene.
Drawn out ending to the third movie added 25 minutes of unnecessary stuff.

Envy Styles 02-07-04 04:06 PM

I Havent Seen Any...Dont Plan On It Either..

It Juss Doesnt Catch My Eye

I agree about the ending to Return of the King. I felt the same way.

Mr W.Rite 02-08-04 10:57 AM

LOTR 3 was a great movie

Thrust 02-08-04 12:18 PM

Blah, lightweight. I have the first two on DVD, and got the EXTENDED versions, making the movies like 35 minutes longer.

:)

varentao 02-09-04 07:08 PM

It is certainly one of the all time greats. Epic.

Greatest trilogy in my opinion anyway.

The Last Samurai? Haven't watched it. But i'd be very surprised if it could even see light beyond the shadow (that covers it) of LOTR.

Though it was so long. I haven't been stuck to the screen with any other movie quite as much as this one. And i aint much of an avid movie watcher.
