I was talking to my homeboy he is an intern for Nike Marketing and he told me that Lebron James' shoes are slumping major in sales, he also told me how shoe companies look at potential people to make shoes for and it was interesting that one of the most important factors is their last name. The top shoe sellers all have last names that are marketable. Iversons,Mcgradys,Garnetts and of course Jordans. He told me that Nike was worried about Lebron because of his last name being "James" and that "Jameses" doesn't sound right coming from the mouth of potential shoe buyers. Oh and Centers besides Garnett will probably never have a shoe contract because big men don't sell shoes because of the small population of tall people in the world.

He told me they were going to call em "J's" to try and get money off Jordans, thats why i think they got 23 written on em.

I think the his sales are down because alot of the hype around him is gone. Yes, he is still an extremely good player for his age, but he is no longer winning every game he plays, so part of his mystique is gone.

They should just call them Lebrons since he reached first name status now , liek Kobe or Isiahs...asll you have to do is say they first name and you know who they talking about....Plus the hype died down..and they fans were expecting a showey type player like Vince...LaBron is more fundamentals and play-book...which don;t always equal...sales and ratings....poeple wanna see tricks and dunks and shit like that....thats why Vince led everybody in All-Star votes and he didn't even play that much this year......and Lebron on the other hand didnt even get voted in at all...even though he's puttin up like 20, 6 and 5 everynight

Negative, in the world of shoe shit its all about the last name. When have you seen somebody say "i got them Michael's" or "them Allens are nice" this is from the last name being on the back of the jersey, thats how fans notice the players. U were right with the all-star voting just not on the shoes.
