RB's Getting A Divorce!

RB.com is going to be broken up into two different 'mirror sites' starting some time this week. One will be led by myself, and the other by Cprogress and strobe. This was brought up after Cprogress made comments on how 'we' were running the board (even though I didn't have any real power to run the board how I wanted.. ), and felt that he could do better building the site from scratch.



So, I obviously think he is extremely wrong and underestimating what we already have established here on RB. Anyways, very soon you will be seeing 2 links on the RB homepage to visit; one for us, and one for him. It'll be up to you all where you want to go. Everything on this site will be staying the same, except I will be adding a little more to the mod staff, and will be gearing the site more towards audio and focusing on TALENT, rather than activity stats.

but if we don't do audio, would you still have a good amount of text for us to split heads in???

plus, we will also need info on:

-will our posts go away? (thus our avatar's and Custom Titles??)
-will our battle records go away?
-When will we know when this is all goin gown?

of course, tha whole deal is probably still in tha infant stages but i hope there is a lot more info on it soon...

Why not just use both boards?

Everything on this site will stay the same, except I will be focusing more towards audio. Meaning, every text forum will still be there and will be active. I just want the audio section of this site to start getting recognition, as we do have a few skilled heads, which should attract skilled audio heads.

As for your posts, avys, everything else... Yes, it will stay the same. What is going to happen is Cprog and strobe will be starting a site, from scratch. He feels he will build a better site, and all the members will want to flock over to his RB, and leave this one to die.

Like I said before, all of this should happen within this week.

Seeing as most of the talented heads have already told me they were going to stay here, I dont think that'd be too fair of competition. Cprog has already admitted he really doesn't care for the talent, he just wants the activity on the site.

I'm not really sure. I dont think your records will carry over. I'm pretty sure he wants to start everything new.

Im interested in the moderator situation though, as i believe it may come down to friends over who does the job right, causing more d/r an hatered than their currently
is, resulting in more members to flock to the other side of RB.

I wish both sides good luck, an try not to make any decisions which could lose members for your side The End, because i know which side appeals to me most, an i'd rather be on a side where fairness exisists. And not one were the site is just one made up entirely of friends.

Personally, I'll go to a site with activity first.. I mean I've joined many sites with a lack of membs, who want 2 days to battle, whereas here its a quick battle anytime.

Secondly.. creative ideas.. like leagues, crew battles etc.. more special features.. and not just for the 'elite'.

Thirdly.. the main downer of RB is d/r... and it happens with vets. Some of the 1/2 punches for instance.. wack.. hardly creative at all. Many times I've come up with similar, and thought nah.. thats standard, gone for more creativity, only to see someones wack ass punch get mass credit.. and I ain't the only person to feel like this.

^ when end was running RB it was alot better then it is now, your new here so obviously you dont know that, but you will see once the sites split.

I honestly don't see us losing many members to Cprogs site. I mean, he has no talent over there to build on. What is going to attract members to flock over there? Unless he has something HUGE under his sleeve, I don't see the activity of this site dropping at all.

I will be modifying certain leagues, and maybe setting up a tourny or two. As for the d/r'ing of vets, I'm not quite sure I know what you mean. I agree that 'bigger names' on RB do sway votes just for the fact of who they are, but thats just human bias. There really is nothing anyone can do about it. If you think of a solution, PM me.

Ok, well.. why would I want to see the same threads over and over again? Recently, a member just created a thread about 'favorite movies.' So, I closed it. It had been posted a few weeks prior to that. I even upped the older thread for him, and it was in the best interest of everyone. He had his 'favorite movies' thread with tons of responses, and I cleared out another doubled thread topic.

As for EI and HHL, only thing that is going to change is it will be ran even better. Cleaner threads, with more meaningful posts. With C-section modding those forums with Loki, I think these two forums can only get better.

When I was running the site, I didn't allow any alias except for people that would PM me about them. I granted a certain few people aliases beacuse they could no longer elevate as their current member name. Everyone would see their member name, and vote for them. How can you elevate if you are just getting d/r'd in every battle and OM you drop? You can't. That's the LEGIT reason for you to have an alias. However, once this split happens, I am banning all aliases I find that the person didn't inform me about beforehand.
