My Story
 

This is something I took the time to write. It might be considered a poem, but I don't know. It's some deep shit. It's about how when I was like in the 3rd grade in VT, and I was the only colored person at the whole school. Some fools hated on me for that, but I didn't let that bug me. I also, became really popular at that school, believe it or not. It also talks about how I hate it that almost every 3 years of my life, I move to another place. Which really sucks. Well here it is:

I didn’t grew up in the hood, and didn’t live that hard a life/
I had no need for GATs, cuz where I live there be no fights/
I have a lotta money to spend. But that don’t make it right/
Cuz after 3 years end, we be getting on another flight/
I don’t think it’s cool, to be goin’ from place to place/
Seein’ so many fools, while goin’ from face to face/
Never had the time, to pick up that one good friend/
Where no matter what was said, the friendship would never end/
When I was young in school, I had to deal wit diversity/
I was the only kid not white. Went through all types of adversity/
I got called names… but I brushed ‘em to the side/
I always kept my dignity. I never ran to hide/
After seein’ wat they did to me, did not make me cry/
My peers came to my side, and like the sun, I did rise/
To a level where everybody liked me, and I was bein’ respected/
Bein’ the only black… that’s not what they expected/
Now I’ve grown up… and away have gone those warts/
Football and basketball, next year… will be my only sports/
Sports, rappin’, and death, are my exits from this world/
Only the first two let me return… to give this world a twirl/
When I was young… I never would have expected/
That I could go from rejected to… bein’ accepted/
This rap game… can lead niggas to glory/
This fo real, man… This be my story/
