most people revere rakim.. ever since he came on the scene in the mid 80's hes been thought of as one of the best .. rakim also set the stage for alot of the more lyrical rappers you hear to day.. ask most rappers who influenced them the most as far as writing lyrics theyll say rakim.. no question rakim is one of the greatest rappers of all time

dickrode by the media.. and adored by many white fans in the us.. eminem is raps great white hope.. im sure you stans can fill in reasons why he deserves to be in this list

since he came on the stage in 91 nas has been ripping mics.. his first album illmatic was considered a classic by many .. it received 5 mics in the source magainze.. the thing about nas's lyrics that are so special is that he brings you poerty in his songs..he always has a message behind his lyrics..also as far as variety in songs.. nas has to be one of the greatest in rap in that area.. in his albums he always comes with new songs and usually touches on a broad range of areas.. his battle skills are also up to par.. just check out how he got at jay-z on the 2001 song "ether"

jiggas a legend.. theres no doubt about that..after his friend biggie smalls died in 97.. he dropped the hard knock life album in 98 and sold 5 mill.. hes been topping the charts ever since then with hit after hit.. his flow is undoubtely one of the greatest in hip hop history.. he has one of those voices that when you hear it.. youll remember it for a long time

before he died biggie was known as the king of new york.. hit after hit this guy dropped.. from one more chance to juicy.. biggie made a huge impression on the mind and hearts of many hip hop fans.. his first album is filled with lyrical jewells.. like jay-z he also has one of the nicest flows in rap history.. also his ability to tell stories was genius.. on the song warning.. he raps as if hes having a phone conversation with someone.. not only did he play himself in the convo he also rapped as if he was the person in the other line.. genius

tupac is possibly the greatest rap icon ever.. the thing that made his lyrics so good is that he added alot of emotion to them.. when you listen to his songs you get the sense that hes spilling his heart on the tracks.. he was a good song writter also

big l ripped tracks enormously.. punchline after punchline this guy dropped.. he was probably the most clever rapper ever..he also took freedom of speech to the next level some of the shit this guy talked about you wouldnt belive someone would say some shit like that "im chokin enemines till they start turning pale,

pun had one of the smoothest flows in rap history.. his rhymes were complexed and he made a lasting impression while he was still alive
