how to make a beat

the best and easiest program to use for me was hiphop ejay 4. its simple and easy to use and u can order it online at www.gamestop.com it has different drums, guitars, loops and effects. you can mix and edit ur music and record ur rhymes to it. its so easy to use and its only 40 dollars so my advice is if u want to make a few songs to show off get this program

i suggest also downloading a cracked version of fruityloops and messing with it. it takes maybe an hour or so to really get into it. then after a few weeks with the program you unleash it's real potential. then if you like it enough buy the producer version. i believe it's under 200, well worth the money.

Reason is around $500, but is 50 times the program Fruity Loops is.

just my 2 cents.

DON 05-23-04 10:53 AM

nah im tellin u hip hop ejay 4 is only 30 dollars and it can record mix and u can make a beat and put everything together to make a cd and its really easy to use

Def Reason

Definitely use Reason, Fruity loops is simple, Reason is a little more advanced, but the capabilities of Reason destroy Fruityloops...I say Reason...

Mekka Maru 05-24-04 02:13 AM

I've had a long time to play with both Fruityloops & Reason, and really my verdict is this:

Reason BLOWS fruityloops out the water, hands down.
HOWEVER, Fruity is a good program to start with indeed, I kinda fashion myself to the sounds with fruity more than Reason, BUT Fruity isn't all that great for creatin' a hip/hop/rap vibe at all, it has more of a industrial sound to it... I've made some tight shit but Reason is JUST ILL this is as close as you'll get to real equipment without buying them all.

but in the end, NOTHING beats real equipment.
save some money, get you a mpc2000XL a recorder a cheap mic & a drum machine.

WoW, my first post, welcome me boyz & girlz HAHA peace

RumpleSmoothspin 05-27-04 05:10 AM

fokesd 05-27-04 05:55 PM

Die Hard 08-06-04 02:10 PM

OR! Go the ghetto way. Use SoundRecorder,,lol jk
I prefer ACID PRO to Fruity Loops or reason

Krairo 08-06-04 04:27 PM

I had reason but I can't get it to work wit my mic so can anyone help me I got reason and I couldn't get it to play any sounds either. I bought a Maya 7.1 Sound card just for it too. I also tried cakewalk Sonar 3 (the 3 disc Producer Edition) and I had the same problems.

Darc Mind 08-06-04 07:27 PM

i have reason 2.5 righ now...i'd say its the best one to use so far..but for some it might get complicated so...it's your choice...try the demo of reason and see if it fits your groove...

anyone know where I can get some tutorials for reason on how to make beats any maybe some links to free refills

Spytz 09-11-04 03:31 AM

LMAO AT HIP HOP EJAY. First off anythin you make in hip hop ejay will not sound good at all. but probably better than these wananes one here, but it aint even no pro shit its a fuckin toy man, its easy as fuck to make a baet and u cant even use it because if you do its illegal.
anywayz Sayin reason is better than fl studio is stupid as fuck. they both got pros and cons. the only thing reason has bette than fl studio is that reason comes with a lot better sounds but you should just get some good shit for fl and youll be set. Reason doesnt really have any good effects. it has that compressor module and u can use the vocoder as an eq and u got the reverb but the effects in fl studio are better and less complicated. Its also easier to put effects to diff tracks in the mixer in fl studio and the piano roll in flstudio kicks the fuck outta reasons. Fl studios more of an all in one package where as in reason theres a helluva a lot of shit missin. but hip hop ejay 4... ha ha dont make me laugh.

yo to make bbets tha program i use is music maker deluxe 2004 edition its hectis. y'all shud try it out it spretty gd for making gds then importing into cool edit!

Enygma 09-12-04 03:24 AM

I'm not a beat maker, But I do look at a lot of these threads and I have come to this conclusion: Hip Hop EJAY is a program for people who want to make noise. You can make something that can be interpereted as a beat in little to no time at all. This program is for the very beginning stages of beat making and may or may not help you in the future. FruityLoops is a little more advanced program that may take a little time learning. This program also takes a little more downloading of samples and loops and waves and shit  (I know from experience). REASON is a program I am not familiar with, but I hear it is the most advanced program out there right now and it will take a while to get the hang of. I hear it is the best program to use if you know what you are doing.....

youngd 09-30-04 11:38 PM

yo sup can you helpi got fruity loops an ahm lost all ready how do where do you start ahm not stupid but i find it realy hard could anyone tell how to start a beat tha shit i can use acid an cool edit but i cant use this bag of shit can you help

Valerie 05-07-06 04:49 AM

For the guests reading this Get Fruity loops dipshits.

Immense 06-27-06 01:47 PM

basically...all these programs come with shitty standard samples....providing you use your own samples...from websites or what youve sampled yourself then any of these programs will do the same thing.

plus depending on what vst's you use...seems that reason is more prefered as a professional program but fruity loops will achieve the same standard if you know how to use it.
