the jay z and nas beef started about 1 to 2 years after the death of the notorious BIG king of the east coast.well hes dead there neeeds to be a new king.well there was two rappers qualified to take that spot jay-z and nastrodamis.the 2 started beefin.so basiclly the winner got to be king.there was no blatent winner that is why jay-z put up the winner takes all battle not only does the winner gets the 2 mill but the braggin rights to say he is the king of the east coast.

this is how the beef between nas and jay-z started. there were subliminal shots going at each other throught there careers, and according to both nas and jay, they had a 2 way conversation talking about how the streets wanna see them clash. jay set it off at summer jam with the, "ask nas he dont want it with hov" then nas dropped the stillatic freestyle. jay used that to set up his album and threw an extra verse on takeover. nas saw it as the same oppurtunity and set up his album by dropping ether right before his album. then jay came with superugly, that everyone said was superwack. they had the vote on hot 97 while jay was there, nas won by a landslide, although it was a little closer than that. i was listening at the time and jay said the people have spoken.


now why in the world after all that, would nas want to accept a pay per view challenge. he won, thats like a team losing the world series and wanna to play another gamefor it all a couple of weekes later. it makes no sense for nas.
