Wu-Tang Signing with Aftermath?!?!?!?
"And as far as the aftermath union.
The Rza and Dr dre. Both agree its a great idea creatively and historically and are now working out the business aspect. The idea originated with o d b and later brought to the table by the recording industry giant Jimmy Iovine." -Rza http://www.wutangcorp.com/news/getarticle/article/428/? I just heard about this and it got me pretty excited...imagine a dre and rza co-produced beat...damn...plus wu would get more mainstream exposure being on aftermath...damn this is gonna be hot... |
reply...I know yall have got something to say about this...
Damn, just when I thought Shady/Aftermath couldn't get any hotter after they signed Jay-Z (yeah, I'm not bullshitting), this comes about...think what would happen if they still had Rakim on their label...
Damn aftermath is just getting hotter and hotter.Who will they sign next? Only time will tell.In my opinion, nobody can touch aftermath right now they are the best.
especially once they get wu-tang...bc wu-tang is ill and its a totally different style than what theyve got now so it will expand their listener base even more...ill partnership..

Daily Hip-Hop News: Jay-Z Signs Deal w/ Aftermath? Thursday - June 3, 2004 by Carl Chery As rumors of a possible Jay-Z/Dr. Dre collaboration continue to spread, sources close to Aftermath records have offered a hesitant confirmation that Hov will be releasing his next LP with the powerhouse label under the moniker, S. Carter. In a recent interview on London's Radio 1, Shady/Aftermath affiliate DJ Whoo Kid spoke briefly with DJ Tim Westwood about the rumor. "We're told," says Westwood to Whoo Kid, "that Jay-Z could be signing to Aftermath - getting down with Dre. Is that right?" "Ah...I guess so...if you heard about it..." Whoo Kid replies tentatively. "Yeah we heard about it over here," says Westwood. To which Whoo Kid responds, "He ain't retiring...he ain't retiring. Why would he?" [listen] Jay-Z's retirement this past December has left fans in disbelief and expectantly waiting for his reincarnation. But the Brooklyn emcee turned entrepreneur has continued to purport that Jay-Z is dead - most recently demonstrating this symbolically with the killing of the Jay-Z character in his "99 Problems" video. Technically, a comeback under the moniker "S. Carter" is a loophole that would allow for him to stay true to his promise to keep Jay-Z buried and still continue to release new music. There has been no official word from the Aftermath or S. Carter camp. |
Oh yeh, for sure aftermath is at the top of there game and on fire, whoever they sign next will prolly only make'em even hotter than they already are, there untouchable...
i hope 2 god you aint bullshitting. but, if it is true this could possibly be one of the biggest empires eva seen in the rap industry and im talkin crew wise and profit wise. soon itll be like if you aint on the shady/aftermath then you aint gettin no $$$.
i don't know if that's still true. last i heard aftermath didn't want all nine members, they just wanted rza, meth, odb, ghost, rae
ehh...even if they only took them how dope is that
damn-- it'd be dope if wu started makin some decent records again... I don't know if its gonna happen though their last few attempts been garbage except for ghost.
meth's arent that wack...nothing tical-level but better than a lot of whats out
/\/\ tru-- but meth lost alot of his tenacity on the mic over the past few years...
and ghost I think the only one whos actually gotten nastier since 36 chambers... that mufucker is a genius.
^true...I think we should have a giant conversation about this and just freepost like crazy
lol aint that what we doin?
ha...you ever heard of wu-syndicate? they are wu affiliates and they are ill...they get slept on like all the oter wu affiliates though
only thing I remember from them is where was heaven.. I had the whole album, but never really got too into them... killarmy was dope tho
ive heard of them but never really heard them...whats some dope killarmy songs?
damn-- Under Seige is dope-- jus about anything off their first album is pretty tite.. albums called "Silent Weapons for Quiet Wars"
Quote:
What has been garbage? Did u hear Masta Killa? |
i think its dope
i guess Aftermath gonna be tha best Record Company since they have some ill peeps in there...
Wu tang is good but with the aftermath ????
I hear all kinds of people are supposed to sign to aftermath
yeah wu tang with aftermath...theyll finally have large-scale distribution and advertising...you know how dre is with creating a buzz...who had heard of lloyd banks before he signed with shady/aftermath...wu-tang already has a buzz among heads but dre can bring them to a wider audience plus him and rza on the boards will be sick...
xfactor I know you just wanted 20 posts but if you go up to the top and read it...rza said they were working it out so its not like a rumor |
